BecexTech General Discussion

Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying a new phone, which is the Samsung Galaxy S7 which is linked here, but should I trust Becextech?

I emailed them about the warranty on the phone, where they said that it was basically like a manufacturer warranty, but they provide it through their company for one year.

Thanks.

They seem to be pretty unpopular around here - look at previous posts.

    • This.

I've not read many good reviews on them…also worth bearing in mind they have massive shipping prices to offset what appear on the surface to be low product prices (probably so they show up first in searches); you end up paying the same in the end, but run the risk of them pulling a swifty on you!

      • The reviews I read here seemed pretty good to me http://www.productreview.com.au/p/becextech-australia.html

        • +1

Check Whirlpool, they're not well regarded there either…I personally wouldn't use them; but ultimately it's your money, not mine, so all the best! ;)

        • When looking at product review.com you will need to start looking from the lower(least star) and also look at how many review and up vote for the reviewer, most 5 stars review is by a 1 timer.

Also looking at couple of question (below the review I can tell lots of frustrated customer, if this is still not alarming, then you can go ahead and purchase, no need to ask us here.

        • @LoveBargain15:

You will be hard pressed to find any retailer that has any 'positive', perfect record you if you follow this methodology "start looking from the lower(least star) and also look at how many review and up vote for the reviewer, most 5 stars review is by a 1 timer"

Let alone importer, even local 'reputable' stores like Apple store, JB HI HI just to name a few are pretty low in score

          http://www.productreview.com.au/p/apple-store-australia.html…
          http://www.productreview.com.au/p/jb-hi-fi-1.html?rating=1#r…
          sort from 1 stars

Most positives are coming from 1 timers too.

I have bought my phones from both Brick and Mortar stores as well as some grey retailers. Whilst local may provide 'extra protection', be prepared to pay premium. If you feel it's for you then go ahead.

Becextech is decent but not perfect. Buymobile is also good one to buy from (beware though that they were originally Mobicity/Yatango).

I concur. I recently bought 1 for xmas gift from Becextech. It was arrived in perfect condition.

Customer service was somewhat slower than I expected but polite, professional and helpful

        • @ OP

I hope this helps. Decided to take a plunge and purchased an iPhone 6 for my sons birthday.
It came in 7 days and was in perfect condition. Box was still sealed.
The only thing was I got no notifications to say it was being shipped it just arrived at my door.

      • No. Bunch of scammers. Waiting for my refund from paypal after being sold a dodgy s7

    • Worst purchasing experience for me. I ordered an iPad and an iPhone 6 Plus three weeks ago. The iPhone 6 Plus hasn't arrived and no delivering time was advised. The seller said they had custom issues. I asked for a refund as I have no idea when I can have the item but was declined by them. What makes worse, the iPad arrived was a defective one. I couldn't turn on the device. I returned the iPad to the seller. A refund was promised at first but the seller asked me for my iCloud screen shot in order to check whether my Apple ID was bound to the iPad, as they say. But what? Why should I provide MY iCloud info and how an iPad not able turning on could possibly bound to ANY Apple ID! and in general, this way of checking is very disturbing and not necessarily lead to the right answer as anybody's ID could be used. An apparent fact but they just kept harassing me. Already lodged a claim to PayPal hope it will help. Worst seller I encountered and definitely not recommend to anyone!

        Hi Gen

        I believe this is the order # ? 73256 ?

        In short:
        1. iPad - there was Apple ID drama issue, which has been fixed now. Item is ready to be refunded
        2. iPhone - this is where the issue lies. The parcel has been handed to delivery agent, but still held by customs

I believe, however, a follow up email on Fri, May 5, 2017 at 4:36 PM and Fri, May 5, 2017 at 7:32 PM was sent informing the fefund:
        "
Update: Thanks for waiting. Good news. iPad is all cleared and it's ready to be refunded.

As for iPhone, can we send the replacement instead?"

        and

        "Hi Xiang

That can be done as well. Please kindly wait until Monday as we will finalize this

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the trouble"

Please let me know if i'm missing something

        Cheers
        Sam

        • Thanks Sam, I've got the refund notice from PayPal after a month from my first order.

BecexTech is cheap, that's the reason why people chose them in the first place. But through my purchasing experience with them, you need to think carefully before placing your order.

          1. When some issues happen during delivery and caused the delay, customers are asked to bear the consequences. This time for me was custom issues, it couldn't be resolved so I got my refund at last, but waiting for an unknown time without any idea of when and how the problem will be resolved is very frustrating.
          2. When you unfortunately received a defective product, as a condition of refund, you are asked to provide Your iCloud info to check whether your Apple ID is bound to the device. This is a rediculars way of checking and should be stopped ASAP. The iCloud info of customers are their private info thus for whatever reason, the request is wrong! I didn't provide in my case and got my refund at last as they cleared from their end. Of course, it must be done from seller's end.

Thanks for your follow up, Sam. I am relieved to have my money back. If there is anything good from this experience, well, I lodged a PayPal claim for the first time and I wrote comments in this forum for the first time. Good or bad, experiences make people learn.

        • @Gen:

          Hi Gen

Glad to hear that it has been sorted out. As much as i wish to get this resolved within a day, there are things that prevented me to do so. Tt has to go through the standard procedure

          1. Yes, there was a delay with customs and it still is being held up until now. We made a decision to offer you replacement or refund without waiting any longer, which you opted for refund

          2. Unfortunately, only the user is able to remove Apple ID for security reason. We nor our technicians are unable to remove Apple ID.

          Hope that explains

We hope that at some point in the future you will give us the opportunity to demonstrate the positive experience to you.

          Cheers
          Sam

        • @r3dshadow: "Yes, there was a delay with customs and it still is being held up until now".

Aaaaaand that's the problem. I previously purchased a faulty Galaxy S7 from the NZ store which had to be returned. The issue is not that some of your products can be faulty, it's that you have not localised your RMA process, causing huge delays in the returns process (I had to wait a month, eating into my 12 month warranty).

How about this: Work out a deal with a local repair company to assess the phones for faults. You can have it in their hands for assessment overnight, with a response within a day or so. If it is in fact just a factory fault, you can concurrently arrange for the replacement to be sent while the faulty unit is sent back as opposed to being a sequential process. You get your fault unit returned, the customer gets a replacement quickly. Everybody wins.

The common threads I see in complaints with your company is not that phones are faulty, it is the huge delays in putting it right due to the turn around time for fault assessments being run from a Hong Kong warehouse.

Please, please, please localise your RMA fault assessment process. I promise you it may seem as though it costs you more, but you'll save a fortune in support costs such as responding to bad reviews such as these, and gain more repeat business.

        • Hi mobiledean

Thank you for your feedback mate. We are doing everything we can to trim down the RMA turnaround time and have implemented your suggestion since 10 years a go :)

In case if you have not noticed, we work with 4 local repairers in Australia and 2 in New Zealand. They are quite reputable/respected in each their own area. However, there are some occasions where we would need to return this to the central workshop (not many though). Still, Gen's case above is related to Apple ID and it does not matter whether the technician is local or not, this will delay everything, unfortunately. We always advised the customer to remove the Apple ID before it's returned.

If you are referring to the following:
"Yes, there was a delay with customs and it still is being held up until now".

That was the shipment, not the RMA-related issue

Cheers and again, thanks for your feedback.

          Cheers
          Sam

        • @r3dshadow: "and have implemented your suggestion since 10 years a go"

No, no you haven't. Sorry "mate". I had to personally arrange my Galaxy S7 to be returned to Hong Kong, in April of this year. You're welcome to see for yourself. NZ support ticket IUKFWOSY9V

I made the suggestion I made to you above to the NZ support agents, and they made no mention of local NZ repair companies, and insisted this was the process that had to be followed.

        • @mobiledean:

          Hi mobiledean

Thank you for your response mate. It has been 3 months though i noticed. Ticket ID: IUKFWOSY9V is referring to order # 1017173. The recent email was on June from our NZ email

I would like to clarify here though unlike Gen who is having RMA (warranty issue), your case here is DOA (Dead On Arrival).

With Dead on Arrival case, we do not send to repair center since with DOA, the device will be likely replaced and therefore it would be either be returned to our local facility and / or we will arrange a pick up.

In your case here, i believe your unit is eligible for DOA replacement so this is what we are offering to you since this is a better option than having the unit repaired at local workshop.

On Mon, May 8, 2017 at 7:46 PM, we had advised you as follow:
"We will arrange a pick up instead so you do not need to send this back :)"

Control # 0510005368 - from Fedex is supplied.

          Hope this clarify

          Cheers
          Sam

        • @r3dshadow: Yes my issue has been sorted and I have a new phone, but based on your last comment, quoting "We will arrange a pickup", I think you still have missed my point….

Yes I understand it was a DOA. The issue was that for DOAs, Becextech NZ required it be sent back to their Hong Kong office FIRST to assess and confirm it was in fact a DOA and qualified for a swap out, THEN and only then would they send me a replacement….from Hong Kong. There were issues with the pickup process in terms of FedEx requiring more information from me than I was given from Becextech. I ended up having to take it into the Fedex branch to send, this wasted a week to find the time to get it to the airport branch during opening hours, when I'm not working.

But that's beside the point. Let's assume the pickup went smoothly… 1) the device takes several days to reach Hong Kong, 2) then it takes up to a week to even get assessed 3) it then took a couple of days to arrange a new one 4) I then had to wait several days for my replacement to be returned to NZ.

So again, I'll make a more explicit version of my suggestion —— Localise your DOA process.

If you entrusted a local repair agent to also do DOA swap out assessments, I could have taken it in the same day and had it confirmed. From there you could have arranged a replacement to be sent to me from Hong Kong, and the repair agent handles the return of your faulty device back to you. I could have had a replacement in my hand in days, not weeks.

        • @mobiledean:

          Hi mobiledean

It's good to hear that you had received the replacement.

I do apologize for the pick-up drama with Fedex, however, once we have arranged the pick up, the pick up process is beyond our control since they have to contact you from that point onward. I will pass this pick up # to the warehouse manager so they can report this to Fedex

On the other hand, the process for DOA is as follow along with its timeframe:
          https://www.becextech.co.nz/shipping-returns-policy-pg-8.htm…

BecexTech offers 7 days ELF(Early Life Failure) or DOA return policy. You must notify us as soon as the product stopped working. Any DOA products will be replaced immediately as soon as it has been assessed. All accessories, items returned must be in original condition or product will be repaired instead.

Generally, all refund and replacement will be finalized in 5 - 7 business days from receipt of returned goods.

Refunds are paid via the original method of payment used for purchase.

We are unable to "localize" our DOA as yet due to few other legitimate reason, which may further increasing the cost
of the goods. We had tried, but at the end of the day, this process worked out to be the best. Whilst local repair can assess the phone,
there are certain strict requirements that they cannot comply.

Once again, i do thank you for your constructive feedback.

          Cheers
          Sam

      • Same here. Purchased an iPhone 6 which arrived with a damaged screen. Was encouraged by their customer service team to return it for repair under warranty - when I did the repairer, through BecexTech Customer Service, accused me of tampering with the phone and breaking the warranty seal (?!) and BecexTech won't return my phone without my paying either $191 to repair the screen or $55 for doing nothing (other than making me miserable through 20+ emails with customer service and repeatedly accusing me of tampering and ignoring my pleas to repair the damaged device).

Customer Service has been painful, they are very quick to respond but extremely unhelpful - don't answer questions about consumer rights, refuse requests to escalate my complaint, refuse to acknowledge that their repairer's behaviour is suspicious. Worst experience ever and I've been phoneless for months because I don't want to give in to how unfair this is.

[Order # 67528 for anyone at BecexTech who wants to look into this and save themselves a returning customer by finally doing the right thing.]

        • Hi dhteb

          Thanks for the order #

I am terribly disappointed that your purchase experience was not pleasant. Clearly, this is not what you or we had envisioned for your overall experience.

The issue is the warranty label was removed and technician came to conclusion that the phone was tampered with.

Technician full comment: I have received the iPhone 6 today, the problem was
related to the touch screen and not connecting to the computer or iTunes, so I
opened the phone, the first thing I saw was the warranty label missing. It appears
that someone has tampered with and removed the label. (See Photo Above)

          Remark:
Considering the phone already dismantled by 3rd party, warranty label was missing.
Therefore, warranty for the phone is voided due to breaching our warranty policy.

I'm happy to upload the official report from KTF if you authorize me. Have you spoken with Denise about this?

Although i cannot promise anything at this stage, i will investigate this issue further and see what can be done for you

          Cheers
          Sam

        • @r3dshadow:
          Hi Sam,
Thanks for your response. I do not know who Denise is and have not spoken to anyone at KTF.
The issue is that I never tampered with the phone, nor did any third party while the phone was in my possession. Either the phone was sold to me with a damaged seal or the repairer is suspicious. The report is worthless as it cannot prove the label was not broken by the technician just as I cannot prove that it was not broken in my possession.
I am not at fault, I received a faulty item which I returned in the EXACT condition it was sold to me and in good faith I am asking Becextech to manage the repair and return of the phone without charge, or to refund the original value of the device as it was faulty when I received it from you.

          Thanks,
          Beth

        • @dhteb:

          Hi Beth

I just took over your case from Galang.

As per email that was sent by the team today:

"As you know the issue is they (KTF) suspected that device is tampered with due to missing warranty label and our action is only based on their assessment. We are not trying to shift the responsibility to them, but we are just clarifying to you that if their assessment said device is not tampered with then there should not be any debacle.

On the other hand, are you able to provide affidavit or stat dec to confirm that you, your repair center, your agent did any work to the phone that ins including, but not limited to dismantling the phone, opening the phone, modify the phone, etc

Once we got this one, we are able to approve the repair"

          Thank you for your understanding

          Cheers
          Sam

        • @r3dshadow:
          Thanks for your reply Sam.

Yes I'd be happy to provide a stat dec confirming what we've discussed and am thankful you agree to honour the repair and return under this condition.

          Appreciate your assistance,
          Beth

        • @dhteb:

Thanks Beth. It will comes in handy considering the situation

          Cheers
          Sam

        • Exact same situation as mine!

Purchased an Xperia Z5 Premium back in August 2016. Had issues with the headphone jack in January and sent the phone in to repair. After nearly three months of waiting, phone returned with immediate issues with mic and NFC. Sent the phone in to repair again within a week, and am now being accused of removing the backing of the phone (NFC missing) and corroding the mic myself (internal water damage).

Have also been given the option of $220 repair or $55 to do nothing. Was also told photos would be attached but have seen nothing but the technician report. Also didn't receive a report for the first issue with the phone.

I have the same comments with regards to customer service and also have been phoneless for an extended period of time. I have told the agent that I will not be paying for a repair for a phone I didn't damage.

        • @Hanlie:

          Hi SangaT13

          Thanks for waiting

Yes, unfortunately, the phone has suffered from water damage hence the warranty void. I'm happy to upload the report if you authorize me to. The quote was completely optional and $55 admin fees is only charged if the phone out of warranty as per terms below:

          https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/warranty-information-pg…
"If we find that the product is not faulty or is out of warranty, a charge of $65.00 may apply for camera and lenses category and $55 for the rest of the category."

Although, there is nothing i can do about this water damage, however, instead, i can replace this NFC component issue at no cost as a good gesture.

This update will also be sent to the ticket system

          Regards
          Handy

        • @Hanlie:

          Hi Handy

Thanks for the response. As I have mentioned both here and on the ticket, the phone was returned to me from the first repair with a broken mic (water damage). I tried to live with it for a few days before returning it as it became too much of an inconvenience.

I have lost count of the amount of repair agents Becextech have directed me to over the last few months and was shocked while the first repair was going on that my phone had been sent to a new shop without my knowledge. I received no report from both the Springvale shop and the new repair agent for the aux port. Only a report to accuse me of damaging a phone I only just received back.

I haven't done anything but wait patiently for five months for a phone to return in working condition.

          Thanks
          Travis

        • @SangaT13:

          Hi Travis

          Thanks for the reply.

From the beginning of return, there was no water damage reported by our both repairers.
Had they found the issue, we will receive a report from the repairers and will notify you beforehand.

Still, what i can do is i will be requesting an official statement from repairer, Mobile Phone Clinic which declares if the microphone was not replaced/repaired nor tampered with for your reference.

Last but not leat, please accept my apologies, but the decision is final, which is "Although, there is nothing i can do about this water damage, however, instead, i can replace this NFC component issue at no cost as a good gesture."

Of course, unless if MPC acknowledged that they damaged this.

This will also be updated through our ticket system.

          Regards
          Handy

        • I had the same ordeal, including then trying to deny warranty claim by saying that I had damaged the phone! Only due to the fact that my Dad has been hospitalised and he is my priority, I have (BEGRUDGINLY) capitulated to accept a replacement phone despite the fact I was entitled to a refund (refused, of course).
They replaced my initial purchase of a faulty Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, after 3 very long months of emails back and forth, with one that had a different IMEI - as it should - but had the IDENTICAL SERIAL NUMBER AS THE FAULTY ONE I RETURNED! Suspicious as hell, and naturally no reasonable explanation forthcomig from BecexTech Australia. In their defence - there is NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR DUPLICATE SERIAL NUMBER! As if, duplicate serial number wasn't suspicious enough - what are the chances that they would ship a phone with a duplicate serial number to the same customer!?
Definietly unfair, and from my personal experience Customer Service is the most ezquisite lip service …followed by an ordeal of denials and excuses.

You were being offered a remedy by Sam. Please kindly refer to the following response for the reply. For further details::

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/257136?page=3#comment-5565…

          The remedy:

"As suggested in the e-mail, please return the phone to the nominated return address so we can rectify this. Also, we will take down both IMEI and SN this time for you before sending anything. In addition to this, we have offered you to refund the postage (please refer to the email for further details)."

          Regards

  • come on.. still need to ask? check yourself, they use doggey tactic:
lower the product price so when you google they will be on top, but charge like $75 for shipping!
and no they are not australian stock

    • Still, it's the cheapest I could find it and a lot of other places have the same tactics.

      • Cheapest = more caution needed prior purchase.

You seem try to convice us how good Becextech is trustworthy

        • I just wanna know an ozbargainer's experience on the company, I've heard mixed responses from people and just wanna know a few other people's experiences before I buy a phone for almost $1K. One of my friends bought a phone from them and said they were great and I've also heard some nightmare on experiences with iPhones as they were sold as brand new phones but turned out to be used/refurbished

        • @Caleb57:

I suggest never buy if you are in doubt especially for a $1000 phone

        • @Caleb57:

So it's been fine for some people and not so much for others. If you do choose to buy from them, don't be surprised if you have any issues.

        • @Caleb57:

Most of the items they sell are brand new models. You just need to check the phones condition under condition tab since they also sell demo, used or 'open box'.

I have not bought from them before, but my mate did and was happy with them.

        • @Caleb57:

I might swim against the current, but i had a good experience with them. My phone was Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that i bought last year and is still running like a charm. No issue with customer service since they were quite responsive

          Just my 2 cents

        • @fassbinder:

No, not really. I also had a positive experience with them

        • Thought that i would share my experience here.

First time buying from Becextech and I purchased two items.

Shopping at Becextech was easy, and my items arrived faster than expected. Great job. Brand new items with sufficient bubble wrap protection. Unfortunately, both had to be returned due to unforeseen personal events. Next, I dealt with someone named Handy with my returns at which he explained the POM process patiently. He was pleasant, professional and thorough. He made it simple and easy.

      • the cheapest, really? have you include delivery to tasmania? give us link we will verify

edit oh that is the link, s7

    • $29.95 for me.

note: I don't care whether store charges $1000 for postage and $0 for phones. All that matter to me is the 'final price'. It's what i will end up paying

      • A fellow customer sharing the positive experience. Great website and very competitive pricing. Got responses to my inquiries in detail and in time.Shipping was fast and my items arrived in 5 days. the packaging could have been slightly better

Overall, it was a good experience

  • A friend bought a phone from there. It came from Hong Kong. We knew it definitely wasn't coming from Australia as it was $24 for shipping and you could just tell by the site design.

Had no problems, but not sure what they would be like if we had a warranty problem.

    • normally australian stocks wont be differ much from one shop to another as samsung apple sony etc controls prices in australia.
so if you see a much cheaper obviously they are non australia

-fyi i like buying greys stocks!

    • nothing to do with shipping bexetech jack up the shipping because they want to be the cheapest product prices.
some grey importer charged free shipping, arrived 2-3 business days from hongkong, by DHL. go figure. better than JBHF or binglee

    • I have bought from Becextech, DWI Camera, eglobal Digital camera, Android Enjoyed and Kogan.

Out of those 5, i will put my money to either Becextech or Kogan than the likes of DWI, eGlobal or (the worst) AE. Delivery may sometimes hit & miss due to their locations but their prompt response made this up.

No issue from me. I was definitely happy with them. The product arrived promptly and safely however it has a minor screen flicker which is distracting. I made contact to see about replacement under warranty. Customer service has been very helpful throughout the process so I’ll give them that.

  • I bought a phone from them and instead of new, I received a used one with scratches all over. I send them photos of the phone on the same day I received it and asked for refund. Support was responsive but completely useless. They asked me to send a phone back to them so they can asses it and provide with replacement or refund and charge me re-stocking fees. I am glad that used paypal for purchase. Going through transaction dispute with paypal now. It was a good lesson for me. Stay away from them.

    • How did it go?
I am contemplating the same thing before the phone even reaches me.

      Hi Happylime

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention, although I was surprised - and saddened - to read that this was your experience. Can you please advise your order # so i can look into this and provide the explanation from our end?

      • You're about 9 months too late on your response. Happylime posted that in July 2016.

        • Hi Emoree

As per our post on 22/3 that we understand this was 2016 case. It's just we just bumped to this forum just recently.

From here onward, we will be active here.

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from Becextech thinking that the price was too good to be true. In the first few days I noticed the battery did not charge fully and then started to go into a reboot loop. I made a video recording of the problem that I was experiencing and sought advice from Becextech support on what actions to take. After trying the steps that they suggested there was no change to the rebooting behaviour of the handset and I posted it back. The first time they asked me to post it back to their business address, the second time I was asked to post it to a 3rd party called Iquickfix Mobile Phone Repairs. After waiting for over a week I followed up and got this response:"Update from our Warehouse team :Your phone has been received.Completeness : Phone, Battery, USB Cable, Charger, Earphone. Original Box. Return authorization card.Conditions : very minor scratches on camera glass, screen popping out a bit from top left side to bottom right edgeWe can provide either refund or replacement phone. However, since the phone received in non-intact condition, then it will incur re-stocking fees."

Knowing full well I hadn't damaged the phone in one day I asked for evidence. They sent two photos and I was not able to see any visible damage in either photo so requested clearer photos that highlighted the damage. They did not provide this and then changed their story to say I had rooted the phone and under their terms and conditions was deemed to have damaged the handset.

Aside from the fact that I'd have no need or desire to root a phone, they were not able to provide me with any evidence of when the phone was supposedly rooted. The second handset worked for one day before going into a reboot loop. This was while I was on a business trip and as such I had to go and purchase an emergency phone to perform my job. I tried very hard to resolve this with their support and even tried to bring this to the small claims court in Victoria but they do not provide a proper business address or Australian Business Number for me to pursue them through VCAT. They only provided me with a street address in Hong Kong and and email address that is attached to a domain without a proper website.

At this stage it feels like I'm being held to ransom for another $120 to get a functioning phone from a company who has already sent me two faulty handsets.

I recommend people stay well away from this company. They will try everything to get out of refunding you and if you try to exercise your Australian consumer rights they will tell you they are a Hong Kong business.

    • Mod: Removed Personal Information is the proprietor of this business located in Victoria.

I have lodged a complaint against him with New South Wales Fair Trading in respect of my own matter.

    • If your payment was processed through Julian Technology that is the company you complain against in an application VCAT. It worked for me and I was able to get most of my money back without going to hearing.

  • I purchased an iPhone 6 and it arrived with a collapsed battery. When I returned it, BecexTech alleged I had damaged it and I received almost the same standard email as Aido above. I also received a pixelated photo showing no damage. The phone had no external damage when it was in my care. Now they have the phone and the money.

Stay away from this dodgy operator.

    • Go to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and lodge a complaint/request a hearing against BecexTech and Julian Technology if your payment was processed through them. I did and got my money back, without having to go to hearing.

    Thanks for the feedback guys

  • Merged from Bad Experience at Becextech

Like other users, I've learned my lesson from buying from an online only (not telephone contact) supplier like Becextech. They sent me 2 faulty iPhone 5s - which also were refurb rather than new as it appeared on their website (when questioned they refer you to an obscure and ambiguous description in the "condition" tab - 'In new condition, no signs of wear' is the closest they come to telling you that you are buying a 2nd hand phone)
No chance of refund as they ignore your emails until it is past their "Piece of Mind POM refund within 14 days" policy - then make you pay for return postage to have it 'assessed' and if there is the slightest sign of use, charge you a 'restocking fee' on top of everything else.
Basically the worst online experience I've ever had and caution anybody who is thinking of buying from them.

    • Better to add a bit of detail to the title IMHO eg "my experience of Becextech purchase" if that is indeed the company and story you wish to relay

    • Think Becextech should be banned on here. They have a terrible reputation and are known for fake reviews.

    • Hi Bware

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I regret that your experience was not up to the standards that our team at Becextech take pride in delivering

By default, if there is no specific conditions stated on condition tab then it would be all brand news. If there the brand new ver is still available, we would categorized demo, open box, renewed at the following categories:
      https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/open-box-special-c-192.…
      https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/clearance-bin-c-131.htm…

Our guarantee are stated as follow:
      https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/shipping-returns-policy…

Replacement: BecexTech offers 7 days ELF(Early Life Failure) or DOA return policy
Refund (change of mind): BecexTech also offers 14 days POM(Peace-Of-Mind) return policy

If it's passed 14 days POM period, normal 1 year warranty will kick in from there. I hope you did not miss the above information

I'm sorry if you are not satisfied with the decision taken.

I would really like to look into this and see what happened as there is always two sides to every story. Please could you get back to us with the order # so that we can investigate further.

      Thanks

    • I had the same experience with a faulty iPhone described as "in new condition" with a battery that was 80% used up when it was sold to me.

      • Hi Kat D

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

I regret that your experience fell short in meeting your expectations.

Can you please advise your order # so I can look into this? Depending on the usage and how long the phone has been in your possession, battery life may be deteriorated during this time.

But, of course, If the battery is the issue, we will replace it for you

        Regards
        Handy

        • Hello Handy, I have been dealing with BecexTech since April. I am entitled under Australian law to a full refund, not a replacement battery, and BecexTech has consistently refused to refund. I am currently dealing taking the matter further with Australian legal authorities.

        • @Kat D:

          Hi Kat D

          Thank you for the response

With no intention to put aside your right as a customer, a business also deserves right to provide a remedy or chance to fix this according to what was agreed on the contract.

item is sold with 12 months warranty, backed by us as outlined here:
          http://becextech.com.au/catalog/warranty-information-pg-20.h…

We are honoring what we have advertised and as such, we will fix your phone under warranty unless if it cannot be fixed then it would be replaced

At the time being, I am unable to comment further as I am still waiting for the order number.

          Regards
          Handy

  • Do not buy from BecexTech! Alarm bells started when my bank froze my bank account due to suspected fraudulent activity when I purchased from BecexTech. It was then that I discovered it was a refurbed phone. I tried to have it refunded before delivered, but of course they stalled, still sent it out and there was a cost. With this company there's a cost with everything. I purchased an iPhone 6 Plus and have had nothing but problems. The screen shakes, touch screen freezes and numbers get stuck using the calculator. I have been told it will take 2-4 weeks to repair, and if I want a phone to use while it is being repaired it will come at a cost. I had asked for a new phone early in the piece but was told that it would cost from memory around $150. I noticed my name used to write a review, around the time of purchase and am certain it was a fake review by the company on my behalf. The company is dodgy! Do yourself a favour, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM BECEXTECH!!!!

    • Hi Kylie

Thank you for sharing your feedback. My name is Handy from BBXT

I am disheartened to know about your experience.

To start with, we do put addition information for a phone which is classified as renewed, demo or open box in particular section below:
      https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/open-box-special-c-192.…
      https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/clearance-bin-c-131.htm…

Please ensure you do check condition tab

As for repair itself, the normal timeframe is correct 2-4 weeks. I understand that you are not too keen to wait, however please do understand that item is sold with 12 months warranty, backed by us as outlined here:
      http://becextech.com.au/catalog/warranty-information-pg-20.h…

We are honoring what we have advertised and as such, we will fix your phone under warranty unless if it cannot be fixed then it would be replaced at no additional cost

Please kindly advise your order # and i will look into this

      Regards
      Handy

      • Hi Handy

Reading the reviews, I am just wondering if I can expect good service for a faulty camera that I need to get fixed. My order #66701, purchased on 31 Oct 2016. The touch screen does not work, and none of the buttons at the back end are working. I cannot reset the camera because the menu and info buttons are not working. It looks like the latest firmware is installed on the camera. All accessories are original as received with my order.

Please let me know how to ensure that I can expect good service when returning my camera. I have not yet send it in, and this is my first response in doing a warranty repair.

        Regards

        Wikus

  • I ordered the wrong model of phone on their website about a month a go. I notified them via their customer portal and they helped me change the order and I paid the difference for the more expensive model. Not the most competitive price on the market, but their customer service more than made up for it.

It arrived on a little over a week and product is on perfect condition. Will i return? Yes if the prices are good.

    • My experience:

On the up side - The order was queries as the bank was slow to process the credit card payment, but your account people were very thorough and cleared the problem quickly. And the phone itself arrived in less than a week.

On the down side - A free phone cover was included, and it is obviously for another larger type of phone. So that was disappointing.

      • Hi Meister.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad to know that you were pleased with our service.

For some phones we do provide free accessories option and one of the option is phone case. May we confirm if the phone case has been reported before?

If not, we are happy to rectify your problem.

        • I've got the replacement case so all good now. Thank you for your customer service

  • This is terrible experience
I’ve got refurbished and faulty Sony phone instead a new one. Becextech is Hong Kong company, no contact phone, no physical address in Australia. Product has no warranty. No refund, no replacement, lost $400.
I hardly recommend to stay away from this company. Waste of time and money.

    • Alex1970, I had similar dealings myself and was eventually able to get my money back. Check who you processed the payment to - was it Julian Technology? It doesn't matter if the phone you got came from Hong Kong, they are still facing as an Australian company albeit misleading however they process their transactions often through Julian Technology. This is the company you go after, they do have a registered address, and I also have an address for BXT International in Melbourne. ASIC Company searches will throw out this information. If you want to spend $60 lodge a request for hearing with VCAT in Melbourne and name Julian Technologies, 87 Tournament Drive Point Cook t/as BecexTech Australia. BXT International is (to my knowledge) also located at Suite 41, Shop 336 Murnong Street, Point Cook Town Centre, Point Cook, Victoria 3030. You can do this - VCAT will grant you the hearing. I threatened BecexTech with the tribunal and they folded. Julian Technology is the key if you can use it.

      • I live in Queensland and I threatened BecexTech with the QCAT and they are still refusing to give me a refund. How do you know if Julian Technologies processed the payment? They are not listed on my receipt from Becextech.

    • Hi Alex1970

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

It was most likely what you bought was renewed and/or open box condition. However, regardless it will comes with warranty for 12 months unless otherwise stated

I hope you would allow me to take a look at your case. Please kindly quote your order number.

  • Merged from When Is a Bargain Not a Bargain? When It's These Shysters

Dunno if badmouthing sites is okay here, but I was all excited thinking I'd found a great bargain to post https://www.becextech.com.au/catalog/canef50mmf18stm-std-p-8… $99 when here it's normally $200-$170 from the bricks and mortar shops. That's until I checked the postage. It's a .au website, the intention is to trick people into thinking it's in Australia, and $50 to post this lens I don't think so! RRP $314 get outta here! They have so many positive reviews how is that possible for such a dodgy site? Anyway just wanted to vent and warn others to never deal with this dodgy website :D

  • Had a good experience with them. I purchased a LG G5, the price was the best I could find and it was great to know the cost was in NZ dollars and included any customs charges and GST. I would be happy to purchase from this seller again and would absolutely recommend them to my friends.

  • Merged from Becextech online sales - stay well clear

Hi - thought I would share my horrendous experience with Becextech. Having ordered (stupid me) 4 phones from them before with no problem, I ordered a Sony Xperia Z3 last month. It worked fine, but within a few days of opening the box, I noticed a small crack in the rear glass which quickly turned into a large network of cracks. It had had no use at all since I hadn't got around to setting it up with the correct accounts and apps,

They refused to help at all, saying the warranty wouldn't apply here. Obviously I hadn't dropped or knocked the phone and I imagine the crack was already there when I opened it but didn't notice.

If I bought this phone from a local shop I bet they'd take it back no problems but Becextech have completely refused. I get the impression they are selling dud, secondhand phones to an unsuspecting NZ and Australian public.

Anyway, I'll fix it myself but will likely be left with a phone that isn't properly waterproof. I just thought I should add my experience to what appears to be an ever-increasing amount of dirt on this crappy company.

I wish I had viewed this forum before buying! But why do online sales sites such as Pricespy allow all of these reviews from users with just one review ie looks very suspicious that somebody is loading up lots of great reviews to hide all the really bad reviews of Becextech.

    • doh this shop is must be avoided. they put cheap price but has like $75 delivery for $200 phones therefore they are in the top list when you do googling.. and they are selling grey import as well. very famous for the bad stories..

    • What is a few days exactly? You should have checked the phone immediately. I'm not sure why you think a local shop would handle it any differently. They really have nothing but your word that you weren't the one who damaged the phone.

      • I basically took the phone out of the box, put charger in and left it. Absolutely didn't use otherwise. I think it was 3 days later I noticed the tiny crack which is now a huge network of cracks completely covering the back. I assume the tiny crack was there originally but you're quite right I should have closely inspected it straight out of the box. Too trusting I guess when my previous experience with them had been ok. I imagine any local shop, if I brought a phone back to them, would consider helping out, particularly if they want your continued business. Will take it as a learning experience.

Perhaps with just this adverse comment, and my comments on Pricespy and any other consumer websites I can find to air my experiences, will have cost this company a lot more in lost sales than just replacing a single Z3 so maybe they will learn from it too.
