TAFE NSW Course - Apple Development Essentials with Swift - $250

170

Hi Guys,
This is an exceptional opportunity to get into iPhone/iPad/iOS development. We have secured a substantial price reduction for people interested in starting off mobile app development. The real cost is around $6,000 & due to government subsidy it is reduced to $250.
We only have a few places left - so make sure you better get in quick.

Good luck & we are looking forward to seeing you in class - we also offer an entire suite of courses that lead from this into more advanced topics.

Here's an overview of what we cover:

It’s never been a better time to become an Apple developer. In October 2014 Apple released the next generation of object-oriented language called Swift.
Swift is an open-source, general-purpose, multi-platform, compiled programming language that has taken the best bits from Java, C#, php, Python, Ruby and combined it in a modern, elegant & easy to master fully fledged object-oriented, functional, imperative, scripting (both client & server side) language.
Swift can compile and run on any Apple device as well as Linux machines. An important feature of Swift is optional types which makes it the most secure language on the planet.
If you have no programming experience this is the place to start. Swift’s syntax is easy to learn, read and understand and paired with Apple’s superior editor (Playground) it offers unparalleled simplicity, power and visualisation tools for grasping essentials of programming.

We will teach you:
* Simple Values (Data Types)
* Control Flows
* Functions and Closures
* Objects and Classes
* Enumerations and Structures
* Protocols and Extensions
* Error Handling
* Generics

This is meant to provide a starting point for learning iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac OS App development. After completing this course you become fully equipped to dive deep into our other Apple development courses.

    Actually i am currently doing this course guys. Our session about to end this Saturday. To be honest if you have interest in programming or IT background this is the best course. Highly recommended. It can open so many doors in future to get skilled, get job or do your own business. You only have to bring time and $250 on the table.

    • I don't have an Apple device though. Still recommend it??

      • +3

        We provide the Apple equipment in our dedicated Apple lab.

        • Thanks. Just applied.

  • OP - do we need any previous programming/development knowledge?

    • +1

      This course is intended to teach the fundamentals of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using Swift.
      No previous programming experience is required.

      We offer other iPhone development courses that this course is designed to lead into.

      • thanks… i can't seem to get to the site either…. can you tell me when does this start? from this thread i can only see the date for the saturday workshop on the 20th August… is this the normal price for this course or is this a new course?

        • The course was scheduled to start Tuesday the 19th 6:00pm.

          I will send through an email tonight or tomorrow with further details, and we will contact all the applicants on Monday 18th, as we may need to amend the start date.

          This is a new course, along with other short courses Sydney TAFE (Ultimo) is offering.

        • @Sydney TAFE: thanks… sounds like a great course…. just need to see whether i can get there….

        • @Sydney TAFE: hi op, any chance for the course to start after August 3rd? And how long does this promo last?
          Thanks :)

        • +1

          @agito1993: Unfortunately not, as we have to finish by the 20th August, as this course flows into more advanced courses already scheduled.
          If you haven't submitted an application, you can do so, doesn't cost anything, your just expressing your interest. And we will contact everyone who has done so, letting them know more, and confirm and organise payment before you enrol.
