Note that prices are in US dollars.

With the hotels I stay at, Cheaptickets usually have the best deal.

Can they be trusted? They seem to have a really bad reputation when looking at review sites

I have used them many times without issue.

    • I have used them once and they worked.

    • FYI They are expedia with a windows dressing of "cheap tickets"
I've used them 3 times and have zero issues with them.

  • It seems that they come out with a new code every week, as soon as the old code expires. I am looking forward to them having a code that covers travel after December 31, 2016.

  • I made a few price comparisons using iwantthatflight's hotel search engine. Definitely some cheaper options through other sites although sometimes cheaptickets.com comes out on top after discount. Check around before booking.

Used cheaptickets and these codes often with no issues. In Thailand now and cheaper than walk in or hotel websites after the discount.

    • I agree re Thailand.

  • Problem for oz is that it's us$, If you do a conversion yourself online, then
that is not necessarily the price you will pay, I talk from experience, pity
they don't have a built in currency converter so you know exactly what you will
    pay before you book.

For the last few hotels I've booked with I've worked out the hotel price with the discount coupon and then used an online exchange rate converter to with our the AUD price. With that contacted the hotel directly explaining that you have used a public coupon code and the worked out the price conversion to be $xxx Aussie dollars.

3 our of 3 allowed me to book directly with the hotel saving on any currency conversion fees.

    Wow! What a site
Currently in asia and booking flights

Been comparing all the sites. Booking.com agoda hotel club and Expedia

    All are virtually the same
Been finding that i get up to 10% genious discount with booking.com

And then i check out this website and its about the same price as others and you get almost 18% off (becuase it exc taxes)

Wow. Where has this site been all my life

Only drawback is the cc fx fee!

  • At what stage do you get to put code in?

  • Where do you put in the coupon code???

  • If you dont see the "coupon Code field" then its not a qualifying hotel

  • To enter the coupon code, you will need to select the room of the hotel you are interested in. This will take you to a 'checkout' page (whatever you want to call it). This is the page where you enter your details, etc. Under the payment section, you will see a URL where you can click to enter the coupon. Enter 'CHEAPOUT' and click Apply.

It worked for me. I Booked a one night stay in Singapore around Christmas day. It worked out cheaper than booking directly with the hotel.

    Thanks.

Was looking for some cheap stays in Shinjuku to go with my cheap flight.

Best I found the past months was $2440 for 11 nights, and this was reserved. Managed to score the same room with the code for $1790!

    • That's a big difference, you are aware Cheaptickets is in USD, I hope?

Yep. threw me a bit when I first saw it as well, but doing the Yen conversion that was reserved with the hotel itself, and this site's US rate, that was a $600 AUD discount!

Booking, Hotel & Expedia etc had the same rate as the Hotel portal as well, and that's why I reserved with the hotel (no charge until my stay). The only ouch moment here is that Cheap Ticket had already taken payment 3 months out from my trip…

Just checked my Citibank Card, and the conversion from US to AUD was $6 off the mid rate according to XE, so that's pretty good as well.

        • That's awesome. I am yet to find a hotel that the code works on for Sydney.

All these people complaining about FX and credit card fees need to get a better credit card like 28degrees

  • +1

I have been using this site for about 2 or so years now to find the cheapest hotels.
It has been 20% before this so they are slowly trying to claw back :(
Just make sure you use your Citibank debit or 28 degrees card to save on the transaction fees!

  • I used this website a few years ago and I seem to remember that you could put in the coupon code when you searched for hotels. Now you have to put it in at the checkout to see if the coupon will work. Bit of a pain.

  • When I was browsing the hotel I wanted to book on cheaptickets, it did say in fine print that I would have to pay $100 deposit per night of my stay. Is this the same with all hotels on cheaptickets?

    • well i've used it on hotels less than $100 a night so no.

  • This week's code: ESCAPE
