Can you please elaborate on your statement "cheapest price doesn't necessarily make it a good deal"? What is your definition of a good deal?

      • Yeah his argument was kinda stupid but check out Ecogamer's forum. They've got the list of all the cheapest RDR and links.

        • +5

there is something wrong with you. this is a bargain. where else can you get RDR on friday for under $90? the answer is nowhere - all other prices include delivery (monday at the earliest).

i for one was waiting for someone to post this exact bargain.

          • @leeroys_dad: gotbean - you've summed it up

          • @leeroys_dad: I was going to say 365games.co.uk have it for GBP38+free del to oz, but I see they are now out of stock. However, you may find other UK online stores at a cheaper price.

          • @leeroys_dad: Dse for $89
            ;)

        • +1

Actually, that's exactly what would constitute a bargain… I'm not sure what definition you're using…

          • -4

@pais: So should I be hurrying to list every single item being sold in Australia at its cheapest price? That's what your logic is saying.

            • @Broden: sure. i think you've now picked up the meaning of a bargain.

            • +2

@Broden: It would be helpful if that list was updated daily too. Save a lot of mucking around.

            • @Broden: If you think that people:
              a. want the product.
              b. don't know about its current lowest price.

Then yep, why not list them? If people don't want the product, then it's a bit silly to list the price because that's just clutter. This, however, is a popular game, a relatively low price (compared to other AU retailers) and is of course instantly gratifying (in contrast to every other etailer link). Is it for me? Probably not, I'll end up getting it from the UK if I decide to buy it.

Define bargain for me — you seem to struggle with the concept mate!

Can we both agree that Ozbargain is about finding "low prices" - is this a low price? I'm sure if you compared it to another real retailer it would be, but if you compared it to, say, an etailer in the UK then it wouldn't be… But that's not even what you're saying — you just completely morph the definition of "bargain" and do your best to semantically argue your position through an absurd hyperbole.

    • Broden - are you kidding?? If you use the same logic then no deal here can be a bargain. In your opinion this is not a bargain - so be it. Your are totally within your rights to make this comment. BUT it is not a valid reason for a negative vote. Read the guidelines on what is appropriate as a negative vote.

      • I find it funny how I get shunned for posting a negative while others do so for the exact same reason.

As stated in another thread, this is OzBARGAIN. Not OzSlightlyCheaperThanOtherAvailableItems.

        • If they do so "for the exact same reason", then report it to the moderators, and they'll deal with (as they've done here). You've been a member for a year; surely you've read the voting guidelines by this point in time.

It's not the cheapest either. Fishpond have it for 79.

  • Same price for XBOX 360 version.

    • +4

Yeah, if you're willing to wait 3 weeks, then they e-mail and say "sorry, we are unable to fulfill your order, here's a $5 gift voucher, so you can be suckered in by us again"

      • -1

I think since Fishpond is NZ company, your credit card will charge extra… So BIGW is better

      • It's true

  • i assume this is teh cheapest pickup deal? i'll definitely be picking up on friday - who wants to wait a whole weekend for delivery?
    thanks poster - legend

    • Hey just because you had a bad experience with Fishpond, is no reason to give a negative vote on my comment. The game is clearly cheaper at Fishpond. I bought like 6 games from them including a preorder of FFXIII on the 360. I've always received my stuff within 3 days of my order and I've always received Australian products. As to fm's comment, Fishpond does have the Paypal option so you won't get charged for using that. Only valid argument here was from gotbean who says this is the best pickup deal where you won't have to wait over the weekend. Besides that, this is not the cheapest offer.

    • Can retail shops match ebay?

      • jb/eb only price match for stores with a shopfront

    • Not a valid vote - vote revoked. If you are to say something is better priced elsewhere, then list the place. Rather than make a broad based comment that no one will have any idea is true or not.

  • For those willing to wait for postage, the game is available for ~$65AUD from 365games.co.uk .

  • Or just wait a couple of weeks and the price of the game will drop.

  • thanks mate, saved me $25.

  • Aussiegammer is selling it for only $74 and it's free postage as well. It took at most 2 days to reach my place the last time I bought something from there.

  • Yeah but they aren't AU stock are they?

    • I wonder, what is the difference between AU and non-AU stock? Isn't all PS3 games region free?

      • Yes, games are region free. You can buy PS3 games from US, Asia, Australia, anywhere and still be able to play.

        • So it doesn't matter then…

      • UK stock has the same DLC region as us (SCEE) but other countries do not, meaning you may have to create an overseas PSN account to download any DLC.

Another noteworthy point is that a lot of people on here seem to trade their games. Generally speaking (before someone points out the odd exception to the rule) overseas stock cannot be traded in, and if they choose to sell it instead, it has a lower resale value to go with it.

  • Though some stores won't trade them and they have a lower resale value on eBay

Why are there two negative votes when there are no comments with negative votes?

    • They're below the viewing threshold. "View hidden posts" button up the top.

  • target aren't breaking street date yet :(

Also as mentioned, Ebay has better prices.

    • The cheapest Australian seller on there has it at $75 dollars and it'll take a minimum of two days to reach you after release (so you're looking at next week, at the earliest). Apple and apples, mate.

The next cheapest is about 79. For the sake of 3 bucks, you get it at least 5 days earlier.

There's also no indication that the above are aussie stock.

Of course there will always be a cheaper price from the likes of the UK at the moment, but it's hardly a fair comparison to walking in and picking it up on release date instead of waiting a week or two for it. Be reasonable.

    • Not really, if you know friends that work for jb they can get it for under $50, got both Alan Wake and RRD for $49.30 each

  • +1

jb are selling it today… dse are too apparently!

    • Apparently DSE Sydney somewhere broke street.

  • YATTA!!!!! Got my RDR from Jb! Thank you gotbean!

  • FYI JB have it on the shelves at $83.00 today, no matching required.
