IIRC, Toshiba typically solders the usb port to the drive, as opposed to the seagate ones that have the SATA inside for use like a regular 2.5" HDD.
Good to know. Looks like the Seagate deal posted recently still a better option.
This lack of an extra borad to power, however, means these huge HDD's run FINE from an OTG\USB-Host port on a mobile phone.
Weve tested probably 15 different brands\ages of phone and they all spin it up and show the contents.
It's $117 at Officeworks. For me the extra $9 to go back into a store if there is any fault is worth the extra cost IMO.

bought one for critical data, will velcro the living hell out of this drive near the exit door to grab in case of fire.
