Become a fanatico at Vapiano's and everytime Australia wins a gold medal get a free pizza/pasta up to $17.. The title actually says it all..

        This popped up on Quora a few days ago. Someone who worked in McDonald's marketing at the time said it was brilliant for them (in terms of advertising). They said it would have put a bit more strain on local store managers and employees due to estimations being about half of what actually went down, but McDonald's corporate considered it a success.

    Went to the Melbourne one for dinner once, having never been there before. Walked around for 10 minutes and couldn't find a table, left. Staff downstairs were happy to keep giving out menus and sending people up, staff upstairs were disinterested in even acknowledging the existence of anyone who couldn't find somewhere to sit.

    I asked them on Facebook a couple of days ago how it works. They just got back to me, but it sounds pretty good

    You do not need to be in the restaurant at the time nor is it a two-4-one deal. First, you need to be a Vapiano Fanatico to receive the deal. After you sign up, every time an Australian athletes wins a Gold Medal, you will receive an email. Bring your email and your ID to any Vapiano restaurant. When you pay, show your ID and email and you will have $17 discounted from you pizza or pasta meal.

    You will receive full terms and conditions in your winning email! If you have any further questions, please let me know.

      They are also now saying that it is maximum one voucher per day, so if more than one gold medal is won per day it will only count as one voucher. So it actually isn't every time an athlete wins a medal.
