Try spotify for 2 months for free, and then cancel before the 3rd month to not get charged

Saw this deal on mydeals (german bargain site) and dealabs (french bargain site). Germany had a /de URL, and france had a /fr URL, so i changed the url to /au and it spat out the Australian site, hopefully it works.

  • Hmm I might be reading the T's and C's wrong, but from what I gather, its pay $11.99 and then the other 2 months free kick in, rather than the usual, sign up and quit beofre the trial makes you pay…

    am i wrong?

edit : i am wrong. its a free trial.

Thanks OP, I saved alerts to get a good trial like this!

  • New paid customers or new customer altogether. been using Spotify free for months now so wondering if I am eligible.

EDIT: Offer not available to users who already tried Premium.

just open a new account, "friend" yourself and play your "friends" playlists

Have done this multiple times now, works a charm!

I'm not positive but I think you'll have to copy all the songs from that playlist into your own if you want to add to it however…

Nah it should work - you can allow others add/remove from the Playlist.

I stupidly shared my playlist with the girlfriend so I speak from experience. :(

      • why do this when i can just use the dummy account?

Anyone else having issues trying to redeem this offer? I get to the page where you either pick Paypal or card, and i am trying to use paypal but when i press continue this (Oops! Something went wrong, please try again or check out our testing help area) message pops up. Anyone know how to fix this?

    • Yep - getting same error.

    • Same thing here.

    • worked for me, i have done this a few times.

if you have signed up before, have you guys removed any authorised automatic payments from spotify in your paypal account? you also cannot use the same credit card number if used previously

    • for some reason it is working now guys, try again.

      • working now for me also

If you're worried you will forget to cancel after 2 months, you can cancel your subscription immediately and the account will stay Premium for 2 months.

    • I tried doing this but everytime I go to my subscriptions tab on the site my paypal is still connected and it still says the premium will automatically be renewed after the 2 month date. Do you have this problem or is it just me

edit: I'm an idiot there was really feint confirmation text telling me to cancel my subscription again after I thought I already did it..

Thanks for your post, saved me from bookmarking 2 months in advance!

To avoid incurring charges on your Paypal, follow these steps straight after signup:

    (1) Log into your Paypal
    (2) Click on that little round icon called "Profile" on the right hand side next to "Logout".
    (3) Go to Payments -> Preapproved Payments
    (4) Select Spotify and Cancel payment.

    Enjoy your free music!

  • Is this the best music streaming service out there now? I haven't been following the scene lately.

I’ve used Spotify for 2-3 years and decided to move to Google Play 3 month trial due to the extra features (YouTube Red, YouTube Music, able to upload 50k of your own songs) so that meant a bigger music library.

However I found the app interface on both desktop and mobile lacking in comparison to Spotify. Things like no dedicated desktop program, unable to search for a song within a playlist, a set shuffle (will shuffle the playlist once), album artist covers in a playlist takes up too much space on the screen (I can see 4-5 songs on the screen in contrast to 8-9 songs on Spotify). External things like when a music artist links their new music, it’ll generally be a Spotify link plus that there are three separate apps of Google Play, YouTube Red and Youtube Music is annoying . All of this adds up to a negative user experience on a pure music listening basis.

Google Play is alright but you can tell Spotify have this little interfaces with simplicity and the marketing of being the premium music streaming service which I’ll switch back to Spotify after my trial is done.

  • Can't you cancel subscription in Spotify under subscription and payment or will that will get rid premium straight away? anyway i cancelled through paypal method..

  • It worked for my existing account! Cheers OP
