Isn't this like $900 with DWI eBay and the 10% off? I know Kogan is an authorised reseller but both are grey imports so both would have the similar warranty problems.

    • Kogan/Dick Smith sells OFFICIAL AUSTRALIAN STOCK not Grey Import

    • How do you get the 10% off with DWI?

      • CTENOFF code but I think it's expired now.

  • +1

Australian stock? Didnt Kogan buy the DickSmith website?

    • Kogan or Dick Smith are Authorised Reseller of DJI Australia and warranty is covered by DJI directly

  • +2

If its covered by DJI it means its not Australian stock.

AU stock is covered by CR Kennedy who is AU official distributor.

    • -2

This is what it says on their website — Dick Smith is an authorised distributor of this product. We guarantee that this product is authorised Australian stock and comes with a manufacturer warranty in addition to the Dick Smith warranty.

    • -3

what do you think now ??

      • +3

I think you use bold too much.

      • Can you once again confirm if this is Australian stock?

        • -1

can you once again ask the same question ??

        • I'm unsure if this is from an authorised reseller - can anyone help?

          edit:
          Sorry I mean Authorised Reseller

        • @leyton01: yes mate, it is.

Ask me again and I'll still answer it

I find it hard to believe that at these prices Kogan are selling Australian stock. Although they did give me a tax receipt with GST last time.

    • Kogan/DSE are Authorised reseller for DJI and they also gave you Tax Invoice with GST on it. Then how come are saying in your first comment that its still Grey Import ?

      • Because Kogan are known for selling grey imports. And at these prices they seem like grey imports.

You seem very defensive of your post.

        • then they can't generate a Tax Invoice with GST on it

        • And at these prices they seem like grey imports.

this special price is after 20% discount, but their normal prices are DJI's RRP

        • @OzSikhs: A guy who can't take criticism I see.

        • @YellowKnight: you haven't answered my question yet

        • @OzSikhs: Like I said after you private messaged me trying to get me to defend you mate, move on.

        • +1

          @YellowKnight: Here you go - http://www.dji.com/where-to-buy

check here, Kogan is selling Australian stock, also confirmed with DJI chat

      • Kogan purchased the name, but they are still selling the same products they sourced before.

Even items marked 'australian stock' could be questionable. Refer to this : http://www.channelnews.com.au/exclusiveserious-questions-rai…

If you do purchase one of these things, contact the local authorised supplier or the offical company and double check the legitimacy of the product.

Damn…that's scary. I was going to pull the trigger to get it…but now I have second thought.
So where should one go to get Phantom 3 with best deal and trusted seller with official warranty?
on the other hand, Kogan is confirmed to be authorised dealer in Australia from DJI website…confusedddddd

        • +1

@newboz: take a screenshot of the ad and once u get the unit just contact the people who make DJI and check with them (serial number, etc). If anything ever happens down the track you can use the screenshot you took to take to fairtrading or ACCC and they will fine kogan if its not genuine.

        • @siggy213: That's exactly I was advised buy online chat reps on DJI website, that we can verify with them by providing Serial Number.

But I'm also confused, as Online Chat Reps also told me that DJI offers International warranty and confirmed if I buy from HK, it would be covered in AUS for warranty. I have saved the chat. But still confused

        • @OzSikhs: i was told this about a different item/product in the past and had i not saved the information i would have been rejected.

Regardless people should screenshot the ad, and should warranty ever be rejected take it to ACCC and they will rule in favor of them due to false advertisement.

        • @siggy213: was it from DJI or Kogan ??

        • @OzSikhs: niether. This was just an experience i faced that I thought i would share.

People just dont realise how important it is to plan ahead when your not purchasing from a major retailer. Yeah sure Kogan is major especially now that it purchased DS online but they have been always selling a mixture of imported products as well as being busted doing a few things wrong regarding bumping up prices before a special was about to happen.

Point is plan ahead with retailers like this. No matter what you purchase even if they say its AU stock, take a screenshot and when you have the item send an email to the manufacture to confirm it is covered by AU warranty.

        • @siggy213: agree

        • @OzSikhs:
Does this warranty cover phantoms bought from any source? Not all foreign sellers are 'authorised dealers'

        • @gadget: just an update;

I sent an email to DJI sales team to confirm about the warranty. And this is what they said —-

          Dear Sir,

Thanks for your interest in DJI.

The warranty is not internation, we would recommend you to order DJI Products from DJI Store or the local dealers. Below are the links for your reference:

          DJI Store: http://store.dji.com/category/phantom?from=menu_products

          Where to buy: http://www.dji.com/where-to-buy

If you have any further question, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks again and have a nice day.

          Thanks
          Best regards
          DJI Sales dept.

    • The non discounted prices are on par with other local sellers.

  • Would the 3DR Solo be better or the DJI3 Advanced?

Or $1679 from Dick Smith eBay with the 20% off code….

    • Grey Import, item location- HK

  • Is buying a grey import for one of these really that bad? I'm sure it's not covered by warranty if you crash it and it was your fault.

Maybe the grey import question should be in the forums.

    • True, but there are cases of DOA gimbals or not properly working out of the box. I'd punt a basic phantom 3 but probably not a 4.

  • I bought (well not technically me but) a phantom 3 advanced from 'ozcycles' on ebay in the 10% off, so $990. I kind of regret that now, as I realize it definitely is a grey import from Hong Kong. It says it takes 2-5 days for handling. And I don't know where to try cancel the order and buy this from dick smith to get the Australian stock.
What benefits are there in having Australian stock? Just if its faulty out of the box? I know it won't be crashes.

    • Even if anything fails to work down the track i.e GPS fail or Camera starts playing up… you can contact Kogan and they would aarange to pickup the item and repair under warranty and send it back at no cost to you.

      • Hmmm tempting to cancel it.
I'm kind of thinking if a firmware update fails and bricks something that could be very handy to have

        • Agree… another reasons to oay bit extra for peace of mind and also if you're travelling out of country in next 60 days, you can claim TRS if but from Kogan, as it comes with Tax Invoice

    • You can contact Ebay to get help in cancelling your order coz seller has falsely advertised the item being in Aus, but in reality they are shiiping it from HK.

      • Yeah it says their location is China but there's 2-5 days handling so they can get it from HK. Thought it would take longer than that.
Thanks for your help also :)
