They are fully funcitonal and have come out a a working environment. We test them to makes sure there is no hardware issues and to make sure they are in very good cosmetic condition."

  • Is it a good deal guys ?
Need it for work mainly (sales job, visit clients in their home)and occasionally watching movie, watching youtube videos.
Been thinking about an ipad but can't afford it and also not sure if it is suitable for work.
    Appreciate any advice.

    • I bought the SP3 Pro from the original deal and am very happy with the purchase. Use it primarily for work (am a lecturer so I use it a lot for lectures and tutorials) and it has not failed me yet.

If you're adverse about the keyboard not included in the deal, you can buy this instead: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/261181.

    • the post seems to suggest otherwise, probably missed the NOT hehehehehe

You can go by the post from a third party or you can go via the website from the company where you purchase the product from.

        • i did :) … the edit had they probably missed typing the not

In the original deal they included the keyboard but they added that text after the deal ended. I did contact them asking them about this but they haven't bothered to reply. The new deals without the keyboard are not a good deal given the age of them despite their as new condition.

        • @Maverick-au: ah i see .. thats good to know! :)

        • @Maverick-au: Yes, battery life is what would worry me. Then again, I've directed quite a few people to these guys - they are not always the cheapest, but they give fair accurate descriptions, are fast with their deliveries, and you get exactly what it say on the tin :-)
[And no, I have no interest or link to the company :-p]

If the keyboard was included with free shipping I'd buy one of the 256gb ones but by the time you add on additional warranty for $50, a type cover keyboard for $200 and freight it gets to be close to the price of a new one and with new models due early next year this will be two generations old.

The battery life is the biggest issue as replacing it is not really viable.

      • They include the keyboard in the box for the last deal. Seems like they have removed this offer.

    • True, but a usable bluetooth keyboard is now often ~ $10 at Target, and that accessory is the one unit besides the battery that would really wear. My only caveat would be the single USB port, unless it has a separate power port or Microsoft have stopped the crippling of the 'no charging while used as OTG' [which I'd doubt :-/]. A 1440 screen with the stylus should meet all tablet needs with enough grunt for inventory/stock control/ media consumption which is what my main uses for a tablet would be.

  • Might want to check again on the bottom of the description it says:

NOTE: KEYBOARDS ARE NOT INLCUDED WITH THIS ITEM.

  • No free shipping either?

  • Unit serviced after lease ends assuming there will be scratches and other cosmetic damages
There will be life time used and wear down on hardware for arn't replaced by the business

Is it legit for business to only other 90 days warranty on small electrical good and appliance when the usual standards are 1 year?

Yes it is, there is no standard of one year. These are used products as well.

  • Anyone who received their Surface from the original deal care to comment on the quality of the unit?

I bought the SP3 Pro from them and it looked very new. No scratches, dents or even fingerprints. It's as if it's new. Been using it for work and very happy with the purchase!

If you're adverse about the no keyboard, you can buy the bluetooth keyboard for cheap at HN: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/261181

Why not look through the original deal for comments?

I posted pics in that thread of the unit and wrote about the condition there.

    • Very good condition. I only have two very small scratches on the back that are noticeable in sunlight . The fans have gotten loud once over heavy load. Otherwise there is no sign of wear. The battery life is great too. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • I called them yesterday enquiring about the SP3 deal, they said they went out of the keyboard.
    OP better revise the post.

I called them yesterday enquiring about the SP3 deal, they said they went out of the keyboard.

For it to be a deal they should offer $100 off each of the models to compensate and free shipping.

  • Yes I confirmed with them no keyboard included

  • +2

No keyboard and stylus, same asking price as last offer ? No deal thanks.

    • and no free ship

  • The description says 'Stylus included' though no KB and free shipping is going backward I suppose.
