Sapphire Nitro + RX 470 $379 ($339 with AmEx Offer) + Shipping/Free Pickup NSW @ Mwave

60

Hi All

Just used my Amex deal to get the Sapphire RX 470 8gb Nitro currently in stock.

Couldn't wait for the RX 480 Sapphire 4gb any more, but the Amex deal last until 14/10/16 so you might find a better deal.

*Edit, found it https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll/EnrollmentSit…

Just wanted to share :)

I'll probably get downvoted for this but the RX 470 doesn't very good value at that price range. Wouldn't you be better off buying something like the 390 or 970?

    • the Rx 470 has Vulkan so it has more potential down the track for performance

  • Would a 500w PSU be ok with this?

Umm for the people that can wait.. the RX480 is a better buy right for $30 difference for the 4gb models?

    RX 480 stock is hopeless.

The 4gb of ram is not a good choice. You'll wish you had more.

      • to be honest, 4gb of ram is fine unless you are going to be 4k gaming in which case probably not powerful enough anyway. id have no issue with 4gb of vram on my 2560x1440 monitor.

I only have 1080p atm, when I do go 1440p… by that time the rx480 won't run those games very well anyway.

        • For last/current generation gaming sure it is fine, however, I don't believe it will be the case in 1-2 years time. The 8gb ram will allow you to upgrade to 1440p while the 4gb will force you to upgrade to another gpu.

  • Went for the MSI 470 4gb last week, was a better deal IMO ($300 delivered). Very nice looking card though! Not Voted.

This seems quite expensive for what it is. The 1060 posted before is probably better value as it competes with the 480?

You will never find a 1060 for that price range, yo'll be looking at $480-$500 for a non ref 1060

The 480 is only $408 shipped, much better value IMO.

    • Better value but the release coolers are crap

      • Crap for overclocking or noise or..? Im very tempted by this price…

        • Both. id pay extra for an aftermarket cooler

        • @ferrarifreak: cooler or just different card? I do not fancy removinf gpu cooler. Always bought quiet gpus though not sure there is a quiet 480 out?

        • @Xizor:
I bought a 480 xfx and its only loud under strain, like any card I guess.
          I bought this one:
          https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36316/xfx-radeon-rx-480-…
Didn't even notice the noise while playing witcher 3 Ultra 50+ fps

        • @ferrarifreak: Interesting, thanks mate i'll read into it further. Though i don't really feel compelled to buy an o/c version when its just a matter of installing a small app to do it yourself.

        • @Xizor:
'oc' is just marketing. Generally means they run a bit cooler as they expect you to overclock to some degree
