FYI - no code needed for amazon

Some people may have exhausted their codes for more expensive items, which makes sense

      • codes? which codes?

        • The eBay sale price requires a code which has a limited number of uses per account, and rather than EC simply taking that 1 item out of his post (so that readers don't pay more than they should), he instead chose to attack the price comparison I gave.

    • Says AU $44.93. Where are you getting $37?

  • Thanks OP perfect time
$15 more but have great reviews https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OBRE5UE/ref=psdc_1292116011_t1_…

    • $188 on the eBay sale from Futu if you want it quicker

lol. I've received things quicker from Amazon than Australia post FYI. Parcels now take 7 - 10 business days with AUSPOST.

Average Amazon delivery is 5 days for me in Sydney with some parcels received 3 days after ordering

        • +1

That 7 to 10 days is very correct just took 7 days not the week end to delivers something I posted. And last week took 3 days for express post for me to receive something. They are getting worse and worse.

        • If you select expedited international shipping it seems to shave a business day or two off the shipping time. My latest parcel from Amazon through expedited shipping (containing a 2TB 3.5" HDD and a SATA data cable) has taken 7 calendar days after dispatch before already arriving in Australia and being scanned through the UNDERWOOD QLD distribution centre today here in Queensland, Australia (it first arrived through a customs facility in Brisbane shortly before that). It should arrive at the Parcel Locker either tomorrow or Monday.

And i note that the shipping information from a tracking update email that i got says that it was internationally shipped through Startrack International. So it seems that Startrack does the international air freight shipping from the USA to Australia for these Amazon parcels. And it seems they end up being air freight shipped directly to your nearest international airport in your state. Which explains why they get here so quick.

Heck so it seems that it takes about the same amount of time to get a parcel all the way from the USA to me that it takes for an Australia Post parcel to reach me from Melbourne through road delivery.

        • Truth!

I know a woman who films family events & then places the DVD into a nice presentation box. She gets the boxes from Michigan (not exactly a transportation "hub" of the US).

They're shipped via FedEx, and get this— she has them in her hands in WA, in 3 days, every time. It's not even expedited shipping!

Meanwhile, I'm sitting here waiting for an SSD to come to WA from VIC and it's already been 10 days!

Australia Post is a Joke now.

        • @Geekomatic:

Yeah. I'm getting my stuff from Amazon and Newegg in the future and for cheaper too and still be at my door sooner or around the same time it takes through Australia Post from interstate. I even recently bought a 2TB hard drive model (Toshiba P300 2TB 3.5") from Amazon that you can't even buy in Australia yet. Amazon is great.

          @easternculture:

I actually got them to refund me money for NOT forwarding two parcel notifications. Luckily, the place I'd left hadn't leased yet & the owner called me. This, after I'd paid & turned in the paperwork a full two weeks early!

Then, I had another feud when the postie kept dropping cards instead of knocking & delivering when I was at home. I caught him driving by & when I looked- yep, there was another parcel for me to go & collect! Grrrr!

Oh, & here's another shining example of the AU post's impeccable service.

Mind you, my post box opening is approx. 4 x 18cm….yet that's how I found my letter? Good thing it wasn't a nice award or such for one of my kids…

You're right, they are a joke, & a very bad one at that.

        • @easternculture:

Australia Post is a Joke now.

          It is…

          3 different orders from Brisbane took 5 days, 7 days, 5 days…

For some reason the items sit in the Aus Post warehouse in Brisbane for 3 days ???

These items used to take 2 days in past years…

        • @jv:

Welcome to Australia Post cost cutting measures where parcels take longer to arrive than they used to for more money.

        • +1

And my Amazon expedited delivery parcel just arrived today and picked it up through the new Australia Post Parcel Locker here in Rockhampton, QLD. Precisely 6 business says to get from Amazon in USA to Central Queensland. Not bad at all. It takes that long or even longer for a parcel from Melbourne to arrive here through Australia Post standard road delivery yet you can get a parcel from half way around the world around the same time or sooner through other means.

So you peoples buying this stuff from Amazon, i suggest giving Amazon expedited international delivery a go it should arrive in a week or sooner. It gets shipped through Startrack International (air freight) from the USA to Australia through the international shipping route which is fast and then forwarded onto Australia Post after it reaches Australia.

    • "$15 more…",

      …than what?

      • I think he/she meant EVO 850 500GB is $15 more than EVO 750 500GB which currently it's not.

    • Not at the moment it's not. The 850 EVO 500GB is currently $38.07 USD more than the 750 EVO 500GB is going for today.

$119.99 now for the 750 EVO 500 GB

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01G844L88?psc=1

  • @Ultraman $119.99 is US price which converted to ~ $156 Australian

    • Yes a common mistake people mistaking $USD for $AUD. In Australia we deal in $AUD and so all the prices are converted to as so.

  • Cooler doesn't ship :(

    • +1

You were accidentally unknowingly trying to buy from a third party seller on Amazon instead of Amazon themselves.

It does ship if you select seller as Amazon.com but it looks like it's sold out and says usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks which is a bit of a wait. But hopefully it wouldn't take that long before Amazon gets more stock back in. Here's a direct link to it.
