    Resolution : 854*480
    Brightness : 70 lumen/3W

I know it's cheap but these specs seem a bit too limiting.

Yeah, too expensive to be a toy / novelty, too crappy to use regularly I feel.

Light is a form of radiation …

I'd give this a go for $99 posted rep

    • Second that

  • A standard 5W LED light globe gives out more than 400 lumens.

This projector may work fine in a pitch black room as long as the screen is small. In a room with windows, it WILL be unusable until nightfall.

A quick check shows you can get a cheap (AU$88) projector with 800 lumens - that would potentially let you view in less than blackout conditions.

It might be good to point out that this is a standalone Android device with built in projector.

It doesn't have HDMI inputs. It only outputs video from a remote device using Wifi only.

You can hook up USB devices to the OTG port and use it just like a standard Android device.

For any kind of connectivity to your current phone or tab or laptop, you need to use the built in casting app, which… might not work 100% of the time.

    • Worth considering just for the learning experience, if nothing else.

  • To be fair, just try and look up Pico projectors and you'll find that they are all this type of resolution and this level of Lumens. It is pretty much comparing apples to oranges when you look at a proper globe based Projector versus an TLP LED based one like this.

Equivalent specced projectors (854*480, 70 Lumen+) will set you back on Ebay for about $300+

Not to mention it is wireless casting (needed for newer devices without HDMI/MHL output)and that it does contain a low end Android Client built in (Cortex A5 based Quad Core with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage + SD Card + 3 hour battery). It is pretty decent for the price.

Would have been better if the OP waived the shipping fee though (it is DHL Courier however).
