This price is for a two vacuum sealers, so each will come to $66. This is not too bad compared to Target's current selling price(Sunbeam VS5000) of $139 (or $118.15 after ebay 15% off code). What's the catch? Its US 110v, so keep your step-down transformer handy. It may be worth only if you need two vacuum sealers and you already have a step-down transfer idling around.

Targets current eBay price on Sunbeam VS5000 is $118.15 after 15% discount code CART15

    • Well, that's for 1 piece, not 2.

  • Aldi has this on sale every now and then for less than half the price, last time was few months ago.

    • Not all vacuum sealers are created equal! Especially not the Foodsaver and Aldi ones.

I wanted to make a smart ass remark about how your username is a painkiller and your description says something about you being killed. The best I could come up with was 'i see you've got some panadol handy' which is really rubbish… I'm sorry :(

    • Is that your best!!!

  • what about the warranty..most likely have to send back to the states..

    • Return to Amazon is possible within 30 days of purchase but I won't count on a manufacturer warranty for this product.

  • How stupid can people be?

This product is AMERICAN - it won't plug in to our power points, and it runs on the WRONG VOLTAGE.

So, plug it in and BOOM, it's dead.

    The OP says:

What's the catch? Its US 110v, so keep your step-down transformer handy

This is not a deal… it's just idiotic to purchased such a device from overseas.

it won't plug in to our power points

      Yup

So, plug it in and BOOM, it's dead.

      How? ;)

PS. A vacuum food sealer probably isn't something you use/leave plugged in every day, so if you do have a step-down transformer lying around, this deal works. You can probably on-sell the second one or have a spare.

      • How? ;)

The product is 110V / 120V and Australia uses 240V.

So, idiots will try to plug it in directly (not understanding the comments about transformers) and blow it up.

PS. A vacuum food sealer probably isn't something you use/leave plugged in every day

        Who cares? That is irrelevant

so if you do have a step-down transformer lying around, this deal works.

Yeah, like the 0.001% of Australian Households who just happen to have a spare 240V to 110V autotransformer just lying around.

This is s "non-deal" because what is being offered is not directly usable or comparable with proper Australian-spec units. It's not even cheap.

        • I'd like to see someone fit straight pins in an Australian socket. (Without bending them of course).

          TRY THIS: https://www.google.com.au/search?tbm=isch&q=us+to+australian…

        • @llama: Anyone using one of those should know to check the voltage before connecting it to mains…

        • @Lukian:

"should know" and "will know" are 2 completely different things.

The average consumer (read: person who looks on websites like this) has absolutely no idea that Australia uses 240V, let alone that other countries have different voltages.

Their ignorance means that they will not even realise what a "stepdown transformer" means, irrespective of comments in the thread about it.

        • @llama: I'm happy to have the gene pool diluted :)

Bought the Aldi one for $35 when they were clearing out stock, was $70, works fine.
