    • If it's anything like the other Xiaomi Yi cameras, then yes. It also sends an alert to your phone and picture when sound is detected.

  • Nice avatar ;)

    • jv looks much better in colour I think.

did try these, firstly, it will become very hot! Not sure what caused this but it's just damn hot! Secondly, software bugs here and there, random disconnection. Thirdly, can't tell if it is software related or hardware , constant self rotating, did reset few times but still perform the same. All in all, I think camera is not their expertise, I had used different ones which performed heaps better in terms durability and software support. To name a few: hkvision, vimtag etc.. Being my personal preferences, vimtag worked really well over the past few month, also it does support cloud storage as well as local wireless server storage.

Have you also tried the 1080p version as well?

      • Yes, same overall problem.

Maybe you received a faulty unit. You should contact the seller and request for an exchange or a refund.

different ones which performed heaps better in terms durability and software support.

          What brand and how much?

        • @PW: our purchase manager directly source from Chinese supplier for stocks. Performance-wise as I stated not a surprise but still works fine with bugs. We purchased five of each samples to be tested. I doublt it is a individual unit's fault. 1080p just got clearer picture quality and 4x zooming capability. Otherwise all worked the same.

        • @Littlemaster: No there's a big difference if you have a baby. The baby cry detection alert has been a huge life saver and the benefit you get from it is well worth paying double for the 1080p version. However, it does rarely disconnect so I had to put a smart plug on it for remotely reseting it.

  • An update on the MIJIA. Unfortunately it can't go any lower as it's already on sale and there is no English/Global version available. You would be getting the Chinese version.

    • Thanks for trying :) I bought the 1080p one anyways. Hopefully you have some good deals soon, will be looking to buy more.

  • Hi Sales,

I purchased it without knowing it requires a Chinese version app. Can you please provide a link to download the Chinese version app?

Should I change it to English? and should I upgrade the firmware? Thanks heaps.

    • The MIJIA?

      • yes please

        • Chinese app can be found here with a green download button saying 下载米家APP

          English version might work.

        • Can you please provide the name of the Chinese version app? The website doesn't have a "search" function! an there are more than hundred of apps…… Thanks mate

        • @Torres: Direct link to apk

Should be called Mi Smart Home or similar.

        • @Clear:

          Thanks for your response.

However, the link only redirected to http://home.mi.com/download/

It doesn't redirect to the actual app!

Can you please look into it? Thanks
Can you also provide a technical support number in case need to contact them for support

          Thanks

        • @Torres: There should be a green button with下载米家APP in it. The website is a little broken so you might need to scroll right or alternatively use ctrl f.

  • I also purchased a Xiaomi XiaoYi Night. Does the Chinese version app works with both?

    • Yes I can confirm the Chinese version app works for all Xiaomi Yi cameras

  • Can I please confirm that all of Yi Home, Yi Home 2, Yi Dome and Mijia all CANNOT record to a NAS/computer? The only way to record is SD card?

    Thanks

  • How do these compare to Sricam like THIS or something like this? Sricam SP012 is only $30AUD and has ethernet, ONVIF, wifi b/g/n but barrel plug instead of microUSB. Very similar but roughly half price?

  • I got this camera on Friday, and have set it all up and it's working beautifully. Image quality is great for what it is, it has a fairly wide FOV and the rotation feature works fantastic. Had no problems accessing it either on the same connection or over mobile data.

Only one question, is there anyway to get a viewer on my computer? I really want a Windows equivalent app/program/viewer. There's a knockoff Windows 10 yi camera app but that doesn't work with the dome.

You can use chrome ARC welder that allows you to install Android app on desktop computer

    got mine today, absolutely beautiful.
had a bit issues setting up, the camera kept saying 'invalid qr code', and fixed it by using north america as location before you sign in.
you can change the location by logging out.
    might buy another!

edit: night vision is very good too!
@Clear, any deals on the xiaomi xiaoyi? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/xiaomi-xiaoyi

  • Hi OP can I have the code for the Yi Hömê 2 as well pls? Thanks.

  • Just wandering if there is a calibration for the rotation stops.. Mine seems to go one way and labour on the hard stop for about 5 seconds, after I turn it on

  • everytime during start-up it turns to the back for few seconds? motor makes noise after turned to maximum.
also i have noticed it will turn to the back every now and then? any ideas?

    • Seems like someone is controlling it remotely

  • NO Ethernet? I doubted it will work very well with wifi only in my situation, on wifi of my exiting non Xiaomi Yi Dome, steaming the image is a challenge. If it is 5 Ghz i think this may work.

  • Hi Rep, can you please provide codes for the Yi Home and Yi Home 2?

  • Can I access the camera remotely through internet or upload to cloud?
