I have tried this in the past. The ads pop up every now and then. zero star from me.

Would that have been the free version? They say the premium version is 100% as free.

  • Thanks OP. The more free vpn's the better.
I use Anchor free Expat shield, over Cyberghost etc, as it always seems to work for me no fuss.
Will try this again but couldn't get it running last time posted here.

    Windows app only.

"OkayFreedom supports OpenVPN within their own client. However, we didn’t see any setup guides for Mac or Linux so it appears the service is Windows-only.

System compatibility – the OkayFreedom VPN client supports Windows (8, 7, Vista, XP)

Mobile compatibility – OkayFreedom does not support iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices."

    • I'd like to confirm, this software has never worked on XP sp2 or sp3. It just doesn't startup don't know why.

I wouldn't recommend using this, they force install an add-on onto your browser which is full of ads, and that was with a premium account too.

I know I have said it before but "If the product is free, you are the product"

Sorry OP but I have to vote it down.

Agreed but sometimes we don't mind being the product. Gmail, dropbox, Google photos, Evernote, etc, etc.

  • Like others have already said. Ok freedom installs an ad popup. Even on the non free version.

    Ouch. Nasty. Sorry, OZBs.

      No worries, don't give up.

Good job OP. Just not a very popular product at this time.

  • Used this before, issues connecting, ads, slow, etc.

I've used OkFreedom before when it was on OzBargain. Definitely not recommended. VPN itself works ok, doesn't really compare to paid services (I mean it's free) but the killer is the adware it installs, esp. pop-ups in browsers. Stay clear for sanity's sake, much better VPNs out there for a low cost.
