Installed Razer Surround, and the next thing I saw was 'UPGRADE'. I decided to go ahead and click it, and I was surprised by the dialog I got. An activation code was sent to my email linked to my Razer ID! I went ahead and checked it, and I got an email with subject 'Activation Code for Free Upgrade to Razer Surround Pro'. I got the key, and everything worked fine.

Proper steps:

  1. Install Razer Surround
  2. Sign Up/Sign In to your Razer ID
  3. Find & click on the 'UPGRADE' button
  4. Check your email account for an email from RAZER with a subject 'Activation Code for Free Upgrade to Razer Surround Pro'
  5. Copy the activation key
  6. Paste it into the activation box

    I would avoid it, I have a razer blade stealth and it caused the sound to stop working when switching from an external monitor back to laptop display.

      I'm a bit lost with how you're saying this as well.

      The $34.95 fee for Razer Surround Pro has been waived without any notice, not sure how long this will go for. You install the free version first, and than you click the 'UPGRADE' button to receive a activation code through your email. You enter this into the activation dialogue and you will unlock the Pro features.

        Ah I see. Maybe I read it wrong. You said you "Just installed Razer Surround Pro", so I assumed you already had Razor Surround Pro, so was wondering how it was an upgrade lol.

      I did have a Razer DeathAdder connected, but I didn't register it just yet. Don't know why it did that for you.

        I'm finding if you already have Razer Synapse installed, logged into it with a Razer keyboard or mouse linked to it that it automatically emails out a Surround Pro upgrade key straight after Razer Surround installation is finished. Well it did that to me and i have a Razer keyboard and mouse linked to the Razer ID.

    Looks like you have to register a product for it to work as there hasn't been any luck without it by the looks of things. I got it when i installed my Deathadder Chroma without registering.

    I already had Razer Synapse installed with a Razer ID (with a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate BF4 keyboard and Razer Taipan BF4 mouse installed). Installed this Razer Surround and it immediately and automatically emailed out a Surround Pro upgrade key to me right after the installation completed. I didn't have to click any upgrade button at all to get the key.

    It's probably the result of a promotion that's happening at the moment.

      I'm thinking if you already have a 7.1 headset then it wouldn't make any difference. It would only have benefit to stereo headsets. It visualises 7.1 surround onto a stereo headset.

    I lost all the sound after install this. What should I do now? I just uninstalled it and still no sound. Anyone help me please~
    EDIT: Somehow it sets my dell u2715h as default sound source which it does not connect to any speaker. Now it's all good.

      Try reinstalling your sound drivers, can usually be found on the website of your manufacturer.

      You need to download Razer Surround and install it before it will allow you to get a key. Try that. Download link is in the thread description.

          Well, since this deal is to unlock Razor Surround Pro, my guess is that you should try clicking on that.

          You might get an email with a code to unlock it LOL
