Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 In-Ear Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds Headset White $59.20 Delivered

That's a fair bit cheaper than the new Apple AirPods at $229 and at least the wire would make them harder to lose.

    • +6

Bluetooth is about to get a lot more crowded thanks to AirPods - wonder how reliably it's going to work in future on a packed train/bus/ferry.

      • -5

It's not even that reliable now. My friend couldn't get her iPhone 6 to connect to my car's bluetooth receiver.

        • +44

That's a separate issue, likely caused by the thing between the steering wheel and the seat

        • +1

@tidus4eva: you mean another antenna blocking the signal?

      • Well these ones are actually listed as 'Bluethooth' on the eBay site so can't imagine it will be very congested at all using these.

    • you just know that air pods will be shit … but at least it will make more manufacturers release more products.

      • but just wait how quickly it will be sold out…. fanbois never learn

        • They'll be sleeping out for them, guaranteed lol

        • -2

Did it occur to you people might buy them because they like them?

I've been happy with every Apple device I've bought. Why wouldn't I keep buying their things?

    • +1

at least the wire would make them harder to lose

      But they're Wireless :-P

      • I don't care…..
I want the one with the 3G and WiFis :-)

  • PC byte are always great to deal with. Wish they still sold the first gen backbeat go

    • Why do you say that? Are these worse? looking at getting some, so hunting for comments lol

      • personal preference.

they had a separate power button on the first gens (made it quicker to power on/off) and there weren't so many voiceovers that told you what button you just pressed.

  • +1

Just buy the Meizu EP51!! I'm so glad I got these instead of these! EVERBUYING BRING BACK THE PROMO! Highly recommended! Even better than the Gear IconX!

  • I got OW to pricematch PCBYTE Website which is selling them at $74.70

  • +2

Are there any difference (besides price) and these earbuds ? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-BackBeat-Go-2-Wireles…

    • This. Can someone respond to this?

      • +2

I dunno whether those are legit or not. Got a set last week from the "15% off eBay" deals. The USB cable is completely different to the pictured one (is almost like a passthrough one, looks like this).

But that eBay listing does have a US power adapter included, so could be an overseas version. Had a quick look online but couldn't see any mention one way or another for adapters being included.

        • Both my backbeats go 2 bought from different sellers came with passthrough USB cable and are legit. Claimed a fault under warranty for one directly with manufacturer no probs.

    • "bulk" packaging. can't be completely sure these are legit. pc byte are trustworthy.

    • They certainly sound the same. I bought a set a year or so ago for $90 (was cheap at the time), and they've been fantastic.

The packaging is different than when I bought it, but I'd say they're the same.

Just noticed that there's an image half-way down the PCByte eBay listing that shows the original packaging. The new one doesn't show the charging case, but the description still says it's included.

I didn't notice that listing but it seems a bit off and having a look at feedback now:

No Australian plug and fake its a replica item from overseas not from Sydney
Plantronics Voyager Legend Wireless Bluetooth Headset for iPhone 6 Samsung S6 (#291652681335)

oversea model . No Australian power plug in box .
Plantronics Voyager Legend Wireless Bluetooth Headset for iPhone 6 Samsung S6 (#291652681335)

They also list shipping via Couriers please but also then that it can take up to 3 weeks to arrive:

      Delivery:
Estimated between Tue. 13 Sep. and Thu. 29 Sep.

I don't know if it's really fake like some feedback suggests, but certainly seems like overseas stock and potential shipping delays. I also wouldn't like your chances of claiming warranty. Up to you whether it's worth the risk.

    • i sent the seller message asking and mentioned ebay hates counterfeit/fake, and they came back with "it is original"

      • I asked the seller if his items came with the following accessories -

        earbuds with microphone
        AC charger 100-240V
        S,M,L earips
        Fit Stablilizers

        His reply was-

        "As picture shows"

        • +1

          ok hopeless wont risk it.

        • +1

          "As picture shows"

i'd expect that phone shown in the 2nd pic to be included as well lol.

something about his DGAF attitude, combined with the generic stock photo, bulk packaging and US ac plug screams stay the hell away

  • Blackbeat GO 2 better than Xiaomi Hybrid?

    • +1

      wireless connectivity vs wired

  • Perfect for iPhone 7 owners

    • +7

      So literally zero people?

      • Wait so those people camping three nights weren't buying iPhone?

  • +1

This or Jaybirds? Can someone chime in.

    • Jaybirds for the 8 hr battery life. And priced accordingly

    • would suggest these.. even if the code has expired it's still cheaper. Meizu EP51

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/261450

      • Earpiece looks massive compared to either the jaybirds or plantronics

        • Looks way better than these Backbeat though, it doesn't stick out. It's actually not that big to be honest. It's smaller than a 5cent coin (just checked :))

        • @jayzorz: jaybirds have the "looks", battery life, audio quality and size advantage. only downsides are the price and voice/sound prompts interfering with every button press gets annoying

        • @tdw: yeah I bought the Jaybird X2 before and sold them, they got annoying as you said

  • Does this come with the Charging Case? JBHiFi price is with the Charging Case.

    • +3

Fixed thanks. I should have looked at this listing without the charging case. No charging case with this one, past comment mentioned it's not really worth paying the extra for. See here

      • i think case is good to have, better buy bundle set with case. of course you cant listen while charging, but for example on the train you are listening then when you are arrive at class you put them in the charging case get ready for the travelling back home.
assuming no usbc computer, battery pack, etc etc

Don't forget the Backbeat fit, fantastic for exercising.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-BackBeat-Fit-Bluetoot…

    • BB fit was far cheaper last year
was as low as $79.95 when the dick was still here
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203722

      • Times like this is where you shouldn't put "the" in front of dick.

      • That was a once off & LAST YEAR. These are definitely worth $100

    • Really thinking sbout getting these -$100 tho? Hmmm

  • cheap cheap

  • -6

There are accessories that sell for about $25 and up that you can buy for iPhone 7 that will allow you to play music using wired headphones. It's called an "android phone" and it comes with a built in 3.5mm plug.

The company that resurrected itself with the iPod committing virtual suicide by removing the 3.5mm plug is hilarious, or at least it would be if it wasn't likely others would follow the stupidity.

    • +3

You seem very upset at Apple, is it due to issues in your life? R U OK?

      • -1

I am okay BECAUSE I stay away from Apple.

      • There are other sources of vitamin c not just apple, you can eat oranges.

    • Riiiiight.. shuffles feet and looks around oh look at the time! Gotta go! Bai!

    • Was expecting more of this having come from the reddit circle-jerk.

      • And it's not a "circle jerk" to remove a feature and call it innovation?! Riiiigghhttt

  • Got the Backbeat Go 2, akittle bulky for my ears but music and quality is good. I do wish battery life would be longer than 4 house but cant complain with the price.

    Good value for me.

  • anyone know if the UC verison of the voyager is worth the extra dollars?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-Voyager-5200-UC-Bluet…

  • +6

    Soo ozbargain consensus:

    Meizu EP51 = Bang for buck low-medium end ~$35
Plantronics Blackbeat GO = medium end $59
    Jaybirds X2 = high end $100+

  • How does the QCY19 fit into that list ?

  • wondering how these compare to the backbeats fit? Anyone try both of these for running/ gym?

  • *Winks at iPhone users.

  • interesting comparison.

  • +2

The black Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 Wireless are $9 more expensive although prefer them over white as white tends to get dirty

    • +2

yeah white's a silly colour for something that has contact with sweat, skin oils and ear wax.

i threw up a little just typing that o_o

      • +2

        ew yuk!

        But yes completely agree

  • I have used the plantronics backbeat go 2. They have a good connection, and the sound is decent. I was using it for the gym and there was no problem with the sound quality. The mic is good too. Batteries last quite well, definitely past one gym session.

What I did have a problem with though, is that the cable never seemed to wrap around the back of my neck in a way that was fully comfortable. It doesn’t come with a little clip like some of the other ones do. The other thing was that the rubber bits that are supposed to hold the plug inside the ear just stopped working for me in a comfortable way, maybe I wore them down. I bought mine for about $90 (including a carry case) so this is in my opinion a good price for the product. If you can get it to sit comfortably, which I stopped being able to do (had to switch to another set)

    • speaking of shirt clips, i bought a whole bunch (10pack?) from ebay a while back. they have sennheiser printed on them but obviously not genuine senns. attaches to the plantronics cable easily enough.

  • Cool, just pick some up, with the case. Hope they go well :)

  • I bought the Backbeat Sense when they came out from Syntricate … for $249 :(

Best pair of BT headphones I've owned.

    • No one has purchased one as yet looking at the 'sold' on that listing, maybe it's the tan colour putting them off :p

  • White (577 sold) @ $74 -20% = $59.20 delivered
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-BackBeat-GO-2-In-Ear-…

    Black (698 sold) @ $83 -20% = $66.40 delivered
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Plantronics-BackBeat-GO-2-Black-I…

I'm thinking black is the better option here… not sure whether to bite the bullet and purchase… as I am definitely in the market for a great pair of Bluetooth earphones under $100.

Is this the be all end all - the ultimate all rounder - for the price?

    • black looks nicer, more stealth, not going to show up stains/marks as easily as the white ones.

      i just don't think it's worth $7.20 extra

  • Toss up between this or the meizu. Saw two guys wearing it at the station and that sealed the deal. Plantronics stick out like two carrot in your ears, while meizu was the more distinguished looking one…. got that whole black red combo going on…
