  • How does the Cashback work? Its decent considering msy have them for about $50~, but i have sent in cashback offers and sometimes never gotten the cash back. :(

    • you need to be persistent. photocopy the reciept + barcode before you send it in, the harass them if they dont deliver after a month

  • Do you have to buy from HN to get the cashback?

  • Yes, it says on the the dlink site
    ftp://files.dlink.com.au/Marketing/Web%20Promotions/DIR-600_…
but it says it lasts till the 30th not the 28th.

  • HN Martin Place had the DIR-600 for $57, took an argument to get them down to $48. The guy said it was a different device, despite the DIR-600 specified in the catalogue.

Cashback is claimed from D-Link with form at ftp://files.dlink.com.au/Marketing/Web%20Promotions/DIR-600_….

  • please correct me if am wrong but as far as i can see it is just a router. so to connect to Internet i will nedd a nother piece of equipment - a modem.

    • yep, you got it in one. Some of us either already have a modem, want to extend the existing network we have, or go to a college that has Ethernet directly to the rooms.

  • nulled, was looking at wrong product.

  • does this have usb input in the back. i want to plug a hard drive into the back of one of these.

    • According to this page on the WRT-DD site, "No USB port, so cannot be a NAS for a USB drive, nor can it be used for Printer Sharing of a USB printer." http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/DIR-600

      However, it also says…

      • 4 MB board, so no need to use "micro" DD-WRT builds.
      • Reasonably fast CPU clock speed.
      • Easy to install DD-WRT on this hardware (just flash through the web interface as per below, and you're done).
      • According to Ralink's website, the chip has a ROM built-in and this means there is no boot code to crash or mistakenly erase. The ROM contains a bootloader and emergency room web page to recover flash firmware. Translation: You're unlikey to brick it.
  • MSY has Tenda W311R, it’s also Wireless N 150mbps and also support DD-WRT firmware for $33

  • bought this one on 5 June, sent the letter out for cashback, got the cheque today, it is quick.
    Thanks…
