Be careful with that "4G" model, I couldn't tell if it was the H791 model. Ended up buying the white 32gb from DWI eBay (free shipping) for $330.

It's the H791, they just don't write it in all listings for some reason. See confirmation here & here.

You can also see it has exactly the same bands as the H791 listings including the DWI eBay one.

The black 32GB listing does have the H791 in the title.

      • Cool, thank you :)

Just keep wondering why this is considered as a bargain ? Prefer to spend a bit more for the MOTO G4 or G4 plus with better specs.

    • +10

      Nexus or nothing.

Soon to be Pixel or pass.

    • +4

      Enjoy your G4 - this is a bargain :)

    • Moto G4 overheats, this phone doesn't. Then again, this phone has a Mediatek chipset.

      • +2

        Snapdragon 808 according to Wikipedia….

        • You are right, apparently 5X has a SD 808, not a Mediatek Chipset.

        • Confirmed Snapdragon 808. I have the device

    • +3

No compass or nfc on the Moto g4. There was a couple of other things that put me off the g4 but those were the biggest ones for me.

    • +1

G4 has better specs? Aside from the funky gestures, what spec do the g4 has that's better?

      • SD card slot, a pretty important spec for many. Also battery life is, from most reports, considerably better on the Moto G.

    • +4

When you learn to look beyond the spec sheet you will understand. 5X at the $300 mark is an unquestionable bargain. Only draw back is the smaller battery.

  • Can I trust this website? I want to get the Oneplus 3 but I'm skeptical about it. I read a lot of bad reviews about them.

    • Can only speak for myself but I literally bought this phone from this seller last week. It arrived in great time (was in stock) and is exactly what it said. It is a grey import so charger is not Australian but came with an adapter. Have not had to try to deal with Warranty/RMA so can't speak on that front

      • The adapter that came with mine didn't fit the charger lmao. Just bought a 4 pack of usb c to usb c cables from Kogan.

    • Work colleague bought the OP3 from DWI (sister company) and its working fine :)

      • My best bet would be paying them via PayPal? If the phone does not arrive they will reimburse me correct?

        • Yes always by PayPal when you can for anything, you will have some buyer protection that way but you shouldn't be worried.

  • +1

Does it come with a free surprise bootloop feature like the LG G4?

    • No. This phone is blessed by the mighty Duarte.

  • Battery life?

    • +1

bad. went back to using my redmi note 3 because of the battery

    • I'd give it a 6.5/10 for battery life. I get about 3 - 3.5 hours SOT over 12 - 14 hours, mix of wifi and LTE. I have hit 5 hours SOT, but that was near continuous usage, streaming video over wifi.

  • what are the differences between this and local stock? will it work on all Australian bands?, is there any warranty at all?

    • Apparently the H791 has the fabled band 28 but I read a comment from someone claiming to work for an Aussie Telco that it isn't the full band, only some of it. It seems ok on mine but it's hard to tell if anything is really missing I guess. There's nothing obvious best I can tell

Use code DWIHAPPY1508 at DWI for $10 off $200+ orders.

    16GB Nexus 5X H791 for $299: http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/LG-Google-Nexus-5…
    32GB Nexus 5X H791 for $339: http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Google-Nexus-5X-3…

Nice! Thanks. I'll update the deal as it's basically the same store, can get the 32GB for $334 using ANNIVERSARY16 instead also ($15 off orders $300+)

      • The only complication might be that DWI seems to have a credit card surcharge of 1.8%…

        • Hmm yeah, I got to PayPal checkout without it applying though (didn't confirm). Will do some digging thanks.

Edit: Seems it does applied, reverted to 16GB at eGlobal but left 32GB at DWI :p

  • Are you able to use price beat at OfficeWorks with these websites; or do they count as resellers?

    • +1

They won't as it's overseas stock, although as it's a .com.au store it appears some people got lucky. See discussion here.

If it was Aus stock they'd only beat the pre-coupon price for future reference so $309 or $349 minus 5%, price guarantee - excludes 'Cash back and coupon offers'.

      • I might try a few of my locals.

      • just depends on the assistant. i once got a projector price matched from one of the fake websites.

        • So I'm clearly a noob at this, but what's the procedure?

Pull up a website on your phone with the price and ask for a price match/beat?

          Cheers

        • @BakaHaze:

Yeah do that, enter your postcode so it shows the shipping amount of $25 - total of $309 for the 16GB. Don't show them the OzBargain listing and don't mention any coupon as they will dismiss it as a coupon deal.

        • @BakaHaze:

For those wondering how I did, I tried West Ryde and they refused instantly. I think some employees have been told about DWI.

          Good luck.

  • Been impressed with the Nexus 5x. Already upgraded to Android 7.
Had a Samsung previously that took 6 months for the Android upgrade to come out.

    • You got an update on a Samsung phone? WTF! I will never buy Samsung ever again for that reason, well that and the bloatware.

  • No good for me:

*There will be a fixed surcharge of AU$33.9 for remote areas defined by couriers.

    • Argh that's annoying, is it the same at DWI?

      • Yeah, I'm afraid so.

  • Hey guys do we have an indication yet on when the new nexus series will be out? I'm considering importing 5x from here to nz as cheapest 32gb is 450 here. I'm upgrading from a p8 lite but it functions reasonably so I could wait for new series features or price drop on 5x.

  • Has anyone who purchased from DWI had their phone shipped yet? 1wk and still waiting to be shipped… Website is sneaky as it didn't show that the phone was out of stock.
