Isn't there some rule about not posting supermarket specials till Monday, or am I going crazy?

    • +3

Coles is fine, the Monday 5pm rule is only for Woolies.

      • +1

        Ah ok thanks. That's interesting.

      • +5

Who made that "rule"? Woolworths short-sighted and disconnected legal team? So they can attempt to milk a few extra cents (and miss out on dollars of sales)?

If it is out in the wild, there is no reason for it not to be on here. Why are we bending to them? We shouldn't. It is up to them to conceal their sales brochures better (lol! How ridiculous does that sound?)

Unauthorised unconfirmed sales are the biggest listings on here. Besides it not like any savvy buyer doesn't know approximately what the specials are going to be next week anyway…

        • See the request, OzBargain don't want to get into any legal trouble for people publishing these early.

        • +3

@TheClipIt: I know. We buckled because they used a few legal terms and the embossed jpeg on the emailed letterhead looked scary. I get it. Most would do this. To be expected. However, when we do so, we get a worse deal, Woolworths likely gets a worse deal and we OK Woolworths to keep paying this legal firms salaries. The thing is, even though they threaten us, we still promote them. Go figure. See ya at Coles ☺

    • The supermarket specials can be posted when they become publicly available I.e when they are put up online. This is supposed to be on 5 pm on Monday but often they put them up early.

  • +1 for coconut water, mine almost ran out

    • +1

      Username checks out

      • Eh what? I dont really get it @@

        • Because Thai people drink coconut milk

        • @Savas:

I'm pretty sure he is Vietnamese.

@minhdung1911: Okay cool thanks. Sorry I just realized it sounded racist.

        • None offend taken mate, all cool (:

    • The last time coconut water came up, somebody recommended some Asian brand instead. Does anybody remember what it was?

    • Costco has coconut water for $2.93 per litre every day, but in a 6 pack

  • +1

Nothing has made me fail diets more than seeing/reading "Mars M&M’S, Maltesers or Pods 140-180g $2.12" …. but not this time dammit!!! ..well unless there is a good movie on…

  • Telstra credit can be transferred to my main account through Me2U, over the course of three days, right? Can I then spend this on Google Play and does it extend my recharge expiry?

    • -1

      By 14 days.

    • -2

Usually credit is a $10 bonus which can't be transferred. Best to activate as Simplicity and use credits for calls or internet.

    • Telstra Prepaid $30 SIM Starter Kit $15 (only Telstra offer in this deal)

Yes, can transfer $29 of $30 included credit (max $10/d, 25c/transfer) over 3 days.

Should reset expiry date to 14 days if within 14d of expiry - check that out as conditions have changed for prepaid plans.
      https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/tppm_cm2u

Activate as Long Life (6months to use credit) or Beyond Talk (bonus 200min calls, 200 SMS & 200MB to use in 30d) or Simplicity (only low call rates in 28d).
      https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/off…

So best deal for credit transfer is activate as Beyond Talk & use the included calls, text, data AFTER transferring $29 credit.

But not if you activate on new Prepaid Plus, which replaced Freedom plan. It has NO INCLUDED CREDIT to transfer, just $5 Bonus credit - which can't be transferred.

      • Say you have a main sim and you have another sim with data/calls left over. Can you creditme2u interchangeably between sims to extend both credit expiry?

        • There is a big difference between Expiry date of account & Expiry date of included services like calls, txt & data - which often expire before the credit does.

These different dates are shown in your prepaid account. Postpaid creditme2u works slightly differently.

It is likely any included services will not be extended as creditme2u is not considered a Recharge, just a topup to existing credit - so no roll over of inclusions like with a Recharge.

Ozbargain's own wiki for Telstra Starter Packs
cdaddy & I originally set it up (way back in 2014!) to answer these questions, but Telstra's plans & t&c are complex, and ever changing.

I included link to Whirlpool creditme2u forum above, which is usually kept up to date.

        • +1

@Infidel: Cheers, I understand perfectly now.

      • If we activate on Beyond Talk, instead of credit transfer, can we use $29 for Google Play purchases and still use the calls/data/sms?

        • Welcome - your first comment🌞

Can use full $30 for Play (do this first as excess calls or data use may eat into credit) & use included calls & data within 30d 😀
(3 x 25c fees for credit transfer meant only $10+10+9 can be transferred to another account.)

I've never activated on Beyond Talk though, as the recently discontinued Freedom plan was more attractive. Pre-paid Plus (which now replaces it) does not allow included credit to be used for Play or be transferred to another account.

  • I can't remember, but does zico's coconut water have preservatives? Tried looking out up and realise it's owned by Coca-Cola.

    • +1

0.1% preservatives if I remember correctly

      • +1

        Thanks :)

0.1% * 1ltr = 1ml. May not sound like much but can still be nasty depending on what kind of preservative it is imo

    • +1

      Damn, bad news :(

  • Anybody knows how to convert the Telstra prepaid starter kit credit into the account credit? Not activate as a monthly-using. THX!

    • +1

Main way is by creditme2u outlined above. That acts as a credit topup rather than recharge. May extend expiry date, but included services won't extend / roll over.

      • +1

        THX a lot!

  • +2

Hong Kong Dim Sim Kitchen Pork & Chive Dumpling 200g $2.5

Still almost double the price of similar (made in australia) items in Asian supermarkets. At 'full price' these are an absolute rip off. Over $20/Kg for mostly rice flour dumpling skins.

    • Agree but these are actually quite nice so I buy them at half price.

  • IIRC someone on here mentioned that the McCain's pizzas were the exact same as the ones from Aldi, which are the same price as this or cheaper. They are apparently made at the same factory and just packaged differently for resale.

    • +1

Not true from my personal experience. The nutrition is quite different and the mccain pizza flour is finer (ie. whiter) and thinner. Hard to say which is better but they are certainly not the same.

    • +1

they are definitely not the same. the look texture and taste is completely different. McCain's ham is very different to the ham Aldi uses also

  • Heinz Fruit of Beans?

    Musical fruit?

    • The 4th result of Google says the word should be full rather than fruit.

  • Optus Prepaid 4G USB Modem (Includes 4GB data for 14 days) $14.5

Wow, this is amazing. I bought it for $24.50 this week at 50% off thinking that was great.
