  • Decent I got this for $19 then OW 5% came down to $18.05 2 weeks ago when posted.

Get the inks of ebay for $9-$11 for the XL ones. Or else you'll be paying $42 for them in store….

    • try last time, ow doesn't accept coz the item wasn't in my state

Ah yes, you were the lucky guy in Brissy and they had a manager's special I think.

  • i got this one from HW for $29, not so bad for the money.

    but very hard to use.

    • how so? I have had no issues what so ever.

These printers are a huge rip-off. The printer ink to fill this costs lots of money, that is where they get you. Do not get these printers if you do printing, you are better off getting a decent laser printer, much cheaper ink.

    • do u mean it uses alot of ink or the ink cartridge is expensive to buy? Coz im intending to buy cheap china ink off DX … if possible @_@

      • It is possible. As stated above I get mine off ebay for $9-$11 bucks for XL ones. They want $42 here for them. I print everything on fast draft so they last ages

    • you can use the refill ink, i never bought the original ink cartridge. all inkjet printer will use more ink. don't tell me laser colour printer is cheaper than this printer for the cost per pages. check it first.

      • You are kidding me, the official capacity of the black cart is 200 pages, thats 14c a page, the refill would be priced at less than $4 to be cheaper than a laser!

    • Cakesy fair comment but it's your opinion based on your usage and experience Nothing you have indicated shows that it is expensive compared to other like products. As such it's not a valid negative. Please read the guidelines on voting negative. As always comments based on personal insights are welcomed but voting is another matter. • Does it come with the USB cable?

  • I already have a laser printer, but I can use a cheap scanner. And for the rare colour printout. I could even do a photocopy by scan on this and print on laser, if the hassle doesn't bother me. So I'm going to have a go at OW pricematching and -5%. Thanks.

  • I got this a week ago at OW, for $18.05 as per the other Ozbargain post (price matching HT at $19).

Anyways, I returned this printer the next day. It has a very small print area, so if you need to print a 1cm margin on the bottom of the page, it wont show.

Ended up getting a Samsung colour laser at OW for $166.

    • And how is the colour laser? How expensive are the refills?

  • Expensive printing and only starter cartridges are included, becomes landfill very quickly owing to its cost of ownership whether its refills being used or orginals - no bargain.

    • so u don't need print anything mate. even u bought laser printer, it will end up to landfill as well.

i don't print a lot for my personal use. i only use when i need to print my boarding pass or some discount voucher when i need it.

      • I use a laser I bought for $35 two years ago, unlike inkjets the printhead does not dry rendering the cartridge useless, non starter cartridges are better value to consumers. You will get 100 pages out of that starter pack or 3 months. 28c per page is not a bargain !

        • in my office, we are using laser printer coz we need to print a lot of stuff. and every month we need to call the technician to clean up inside the printer.
it depends all the customer needs, if you print a lot, and need speeds, yes laser is best choice for you.

again, it depends on the customer needs. we can not compare two different products that totally different type.

we call orange and apple are fruit. but they are different type of fruits that contains different type of vitamins. some people need vitamin A more than the other, some people need vitamin C more than the other.

  • None left at Artarmon OW. Oh well, I'll hang on to my money then.
