Vitamix Total Nutrition Center Blender 5200 $685 @ Kitchen Warehouse eBay (RRP $995)

First post but not sure if good deal. RRP $995. Cheapest is ~$740 on Peters of Kensington or Kitchenwarehouse.

Was looking at buying one for a couple months and pulled trigger.

Think this is decent price considering the cheaper alternative Optimum 9200A that I was also looking at is already $479.

    http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/vitamix-058464-professio…

this would be better, purchase with 10%+ off giftcard and its under $800.

the 300 series came out in 2014.. the 5200 came out in 2012 ? i think..

    300 made alot of improvements. I wouldn't buy 5200 @ this price.

People really spend this much money on a blender?
I just paid $99 for the Electrolux one and received a lot of eye-rolling for spending that much!

If you use a blender several times a week it's probably a solid investment. It will last you a decade.

      • Yes, confirm we use a blender 6 days a week and the old cheapo blew up after a year.

My $99 one came with a 5 year warranty.

But I do agree, cheap blenders aren't worth it. They can't blend ice properly and they overheat very quickly.

    • Once you give one of these blenders a go, you'll never go back!

  • Anyone who buys one of these is a fool. Aldi sells a similar industrial strength one for $99, and you can find similar ones on Aliexpress at about $100. Same thing.

I've got 3 blenders, the vitamix, an aldi, and one OEM unnammable from Aliexpress for $100. ALL of them have lasted for 3-4 years now.

Apart from the name, not one difference. That's why, take it from me, you're a fool if you buy one at this price.

    • Take it from the person with three $100 blenders, you're a fool if you buy one $685 blender
