Grabbed 2 pairs from these guys yesterday, they were dispatched within an hour. Pretty excited to receive for my bargain Japan trip coming up!

Don't forget to claim duty free back before you leave.

Man these are a bargain! Well worth every dollar I reckon if you travel a lot. I've got both the qc25 and qc20.

      • Yep! Made sure my departure date was within 60 days (just) haha.

Should work out at $266.2 per pair (got the QC25s), which suits me just fine.

Doesn't the purchase need to be over $300 to qualify for the refund?

        • Yes pretty sure it needs to be over $300. If over $1,000 you need your name and address on the tax invoice. Looks like he won't be able to claim.

        • +5

          2 pairs means > $300….

        • what about the price of the plane ticket?

        • @suicine94:

Doesn't matter as you're not flying simply to get a pair of Bose….

        • +1

          @Davesday:

You can make up $300 of items on multiple invoices from same business so you could buy another Bose airline headphone adapter (cheapest thing in their store) and save yourself $11.70 once you factor in cost of adapter minus GST refund, might not be worth the trouble though.

          @jasonc:

It's $300 per item. Not per invoice.

        • +2

but the tax invoice will show the non-discounted price. so it would be over $300.

        • @suicine94: That's somewhat like saying I need to factor the cost of my car into my weekly grocery shop. I already owned the car, I am just utilising it in several different ways.

        • +1

@dandandan: Oops how did I miss that? :-) Yup two pairs within the same invoice is fine. In fact you could combine two invoices from the same retailer to make it >$300. I have done this before.

  • Aren't new models coming out pretty soon for both of the in and over the ear variants?

    • +2

The new over ear model (QC35) is already out. The new in ear model (QC30, which will be wireless) is set to be released mid-late next month for a RRP of $449 apparently. I don't believe the QC25 or QC20 are being discontinued however and they're unlikely to drop in price, so this is still a good deal.

  • +2

Good deal. I have the QC20 and they are brilliant for flying. Never want to fly again without them!

    • Ditto, I love mine!

  • +1

So the only difference between QC25 & QC35 is the wireless capability?

  • When did bose go from being overpriced average quality with slick marketing and asthetics to decent?

    Can someone fill me in?

Last i remember they were the monster cables of audio.

      three words: best noise cancelling.

      • +1

BY FAR. I travel a fair bit and yes the sound isn't the best, but nothing beats its noise cancelling. So in short, if you don't travel much on trains and planes, then it's definitely not worth your money. But if you do, it's definitely worth the money.

        • Not too familiar with active noise cancellation. How do the headphones go with blocking out people talking rather than the humdrum of a plane or train?

        • +1

@vandlin: You can still hear people talking. Headphones greatly reduces engine noise. Eliminates that buzzing sound. Makes air travel bearable.

    • Ok thanks for filling me in.
Given that i think they invented active noise cancellation (?), makes sense they should know a thing or two about it.

  • If I buy the android ones does that mean they will not pair with my iPad?

    • With the QC25, I believe the only thing that wont work between operating systems is the in-line controls. The iOS/Android cable can be purchased separately though, and swapped out at will if I'm not mistaken.

  • DAMN, won't reach me in time for my flights on Thursday. Would have been perfect otherwise! I don't like the neckband on the QC30 :(

  • The QC25s are also awesome if you work in a noisy office. I use mine with a boom mic and it is terrific for teleconferences etc ..

  • Dumb question but whats the difference between android and the apple version?

    • The wire cabling for music and volume controls. The Apple ones are wired differently.

  • Can this be plugged into the plane cabin's connection (2 pin or 3 pin)?

    • The QC20 doesn't come with an adapter but the QC25 does. I think you can get the adapter for like $10-15 anyway from BOSE or much cheaper from eBay.

  • Argh why is checkout saying 'This code can't be applied to some of your items.'

    Noooo
