$28 still too much for a student. Any offers on the sub $28 plans

    • Hi Cozmerklsenberg,

We don't have any student offers less than $28, however we still have our $20 no lock-in plans that gives you 2GB and $500 calls.

"uses part of the Telstra network"

Can anyone advise, does this use telstra full network and access in country WA.. or is it a lower quality/coverage?

    Thanks

    • Hi Offal Spokesman,

The best place to find out about coverage in a specific location would be our coverage map - https://www.telechoice.com.au/our-mobile-network

    • Ahh ok, so this coverage is about half that of Telstra in WA. Thanks

      • Hi Offal,

I definitely wouldn't say half, although there are some areas where we won't have coverage becuase Telstra direct has exclusive coverage. The TeleChoice network covers 98.5% of the Australian population.

Thanks.. but im just letting other folk know that in "country" WA the coverage is a long way short of Telstra. So for people like me in the wheatbelt for example, the loss of coverage is significant.

          good luck

  • So no love for your existing student customers ?

    • Hi Fitzy777,

We do try and make as many of our offers available to existing customers as possible (as you might have seen in the past few Ozbargain posts), however we unfortuantely cannot open this one up to existing customers.

      • I though that was because the old LIVE PDS had a typo, which was why Telechoice had to provide a new plans and update the PDS.

      Hi

All you have to do is port out to another provider using an eg $2 optus sim, then port back in to telechoice. Problem solved

  • Is this the online exclusive offer? Or I could visit a store to apply too.

    • Hi Laoya112

This offer is available online and in store :)

  • Students only…boo

  • Is there an expiry date on this one?
I'm waiting for my phone plan to expire in a month or so, and I'd be keen to take this up afterwards.

    • Hi Zzymrugy,

This one goes for 3 months from today, i've just added the end date above :)

  • Can a primary/secondary school student count as student ? but he/she does not have a valid student card where as school don't make one.

    • Hi Dlovep,

This offer is post-paid plan and is therefore only available to people over 18. A parent can however apply on behalf of their student child, however as there is no way of verifying highschool students (unlike uni students), the only way we would accept this would be if they had a student ID.

      • If I'm a high school student but I have a valid student ID card would I be eligible for this deal?

        • Hi Puzzles2,

Yes, but you would need to get your parent/guardian to apply for you if you are under 18

  • I don't have a student card as my study is via correspondence (Tasmania Uni)

Any other way of verifying? I have a uni email.

    • Hi Julz,

We would accept confirmation from Unidays regarding your status as a student. If you can screenshot confirmation from them and upload it in the feild that would normally take ID, that would be fine.

  • out of this topic, but I am with the old $18 plan for 500MB plus 1GB bonus. Whenever I get over 500MB it triggers 1GB data pack($10) and I had to go chat online to get the credit back. Why is that, is it possible to fix this or should I cancel this plan get onto $19 plan for 2GB?

    • Hi Sangsukpark,

Hmm, that shouldn't be happening. Could you please email me at [email protected] to fix that.

  • OMG! wish im a student again.. :(

  • Telechoice arent confirming via chat how long this offer will last for.Possible only for one more week.
