    That's not India Gate. India gate is usually around $15 for 5Kg and is the best Basmati rice.

      I didn't say it was India Gate! It's Maharajahs Choice…..$19.25 when not on sale apparently.

        Yeah, $15 for 5KG is not from Coles either. I have never seen India Gate in Woollies or Coles before.

  the photo shows Sella Basmati - which is parboiled rice. its low in starch, but imho tastes like plastic

      Nah. I don't cook curry. I would sell the bags.

      I prefer the fatty rice in KOrean and Japanese cuisine.

  Nice deal, but be wary with rice from overseas, particularly Asia- it could contain higher levels of lead than the PTTI (provisional total tolerable intake) http://healthland.time.com/2013/04/11/high-levels-of-lead-found-in-imported-rice/
