Harvey Norman Lumia 950 for $399 and 950 XL for $499 + Delivery or Free Pickup

230

Hi just noticed Harvey Norman dropped thier prices matching MS store. They still have both colours white and black for both 950 and 950 XL

Not as good deal compared to last week mobiciti ebay deal or able to convince MS to give you an extra discount but they still have stock or currently you cheaper than mobiciti on eBay. Good for people who missed out in the previous deals.

  • Microsoft sells 950 XL at the same price + upto 8% Cashrewards. That'll still bring it down to around $470.

    • IF they get them back in stock yes.

      • I was at the M$ store in Sydney yesterday - they seemed to have stock. You also get a mirrorcast dongol (third party brand). But buying in store doesn't get you the cashrewards obviously.

        • But you can potentially get another $20 off. Follow icecreambandits post on the MS deal

"Just sharing my experience getting the phone this morning.

Checked on live chat regarding potential discount in lieu of Screenbeam on top of the student discount, and they were happy to do a $20 refund after the initial transaction like others have reported. I wanted to pick up and asked if they could do that price for me in store and they said to check.

So I went to the Microsoft store and they were happy to do it. They ran out of the Screenbram but threw in the Microsoft wireless display adapter (RRP $99) instead with the student discount (had to show ID). So I got the 950XL for $449.

          Thanks Trent!"

  • I bought one from MS. Straight from box, had magenta screen tint up the right hand side. Brand new. Half the screen was faulty.
Ended up returning it and will stick with my Xiaomi Note 3. Build quality is night and day.
W10M is a good OS. It is let down by the hardware.

    • This is an AMOLED thing. Production isn't perfect and screens get varying tints depending on where they were cut from. Have been looking at complaints about the Nexus 6P..

      • Yeah Samsung or whoever the supplier for Microsoft probably keep the best panels for themselves and give Microsoft the rejects. OT I still don't understand why AMOLED isn't used on more phones now. I remember reading earlier in the year that AMOLED screens were cheaper to produce than LCD ones now.

        • Samsung end up with dodgy screens too, though I agree they're likely keeping the better ones to themselves.

Don't know of anyone else making (AM)OLED for mobile apart from Samsung. Probably can't meet production demands, so despite being cheaper to actually produce, they may sell them for more.

        • @TheContact: Not forgetting exploding batteries ;-)

Also, there is a $50 Amex cashback.
