Crystal Adblock Free $0 Was $1.49 [iOS & Samsung Android M]

180

Start blocking ads on Safari/Samsung Internet Browser immediately. Ad blocking loads pages 4x faster, saves up to 50% of your data and much more! Crystal Adblock is easy to use and makes the browsing experience on your phone or tablet much more enjoyable

Note for Android: This feature only works on the latest version of Samsung Internet that comes bundled with the Android M update. I'm waiting for Google to approve a build to prevent users without 6.0 from downloading. If you have an older version of Android, don't worry, this app will support you as Samsung rolls out their updates for older devices. Hang tight!

I've tested it on a few Australian website and it appears to work well.

  • Does this work on Chrome browser and non rooted android 6.0?

    • Nope, only Samsung internet.

Crystal does / will support acceptable ads 1, Ad Block Plus's way of exstorting money out of advertisers. ABP will pay Crystal to allow acceptable ads which is why it's now free. If your looking for a Content Blocker on iOS I would reccomend 1Blocker (Free w/ Pro Version In-app Purchase). This review clearly shows that Crystal isn't nearly the fastest.

      Thanks, installed 1Blocker

    For android users:
    Install firefox for android.
    Install ublock origin for firefox.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin…

    Free and fast.

I like using Chrome across devices, because of its bookmark syncing functionality. But it does not block ads. Wonder whether it's worth making the change to firefox.

      • Same here, but mainly for my recent tabs and saved credentials.

Netguard (github version) is a non-root local VPN with ip-based adblocking.

        • Sounds good. Will give it a try later. Thanks!

      • #NoChromo is a good alternative.

Pretty much blocks any ads, but I found when trying to play videos though it doesn't work as well. It does get updated, but not as frequent unfortunately.

    • Thank you.
I have FireFox on multiple devices and ironically the adverts on OzBargain were seriously annoying on my Andorid, all gone now.

      • You know you can turn ads off in Ozbargain if logged in?

"My Account" —> "Settings" — "Banner ads:" —> "No Ads"

        • Banner ads are turned off, its the adverts in the middle of the listings that really bug me.

  • I'm happy with ABP for the 6S but it's good to have a backup in case things go to poop.

    Cheers for the heads up.

Ad Block Plus for iOS (not Adblock browser) is pretty much the same thing as crystal, both use ABP's easylist and both support Acceptable Ads.

I use Adblock Fast on my Samsung S7. It's free and works well. Wondering what the differences are with Crystal

    • different lists, Crystal uses straight Easylist and ABF uses a forked version of Easylist. Also the price is different.

  • Crystal sold his soul - not recommended.

  • Speaking of adblocker.. has anyone used AdAway (Android - requires root) lately? I'm finding that some ads are slipping through.

    • You need to update it if that happens.

  • What does the pro version do?
I cant seem to find it in the app

Samsung Android M only in the header would have been handy. "IOS and Android" is a bit misleading.

Seeing it doesn't apply to just any Android device I mean.

  • Adaway is always free.
