Canon PIXMA MX726 (Colour Multifunction) - $85 @ Officeworks eBay Store- $1.24 after Market Cartridges

140

Ok, Printer is not on special, Its cheap, But It's all about the After Market Ink Prices.

Printer is $85 and not too good nor bad from Office Works

Ink used is PGI650BK/XL, PGI655BKXXL, CLI651BK/XL, CLI651C/XL, CLI651M/XL and CLI651Y/XL

That Ink is the older style and is dirt cheap on eBay. 20PK for $24.75 ($1.24 each)

Thats $83.94 (1.25% cash rewards) for the printer and $1.24 per After Market Cartridge.

Hope someone finds this useful, There isnt really any good longer term printer deals on here and thought I'd share what Ive spent hours researching

Peace

          @aussiedealseeker: No sweat. I hope im bein a bit constructive here, but overall not that great of a deal mate unless someone really needs colour. Mono laser printers can be had for $40-80 and last ages.

          Gj on the effort though.

          @thedude23: Its more the ink that is cheap for ink jet (and i did look at laser), But they get pricey when you require the whole auto-duplexing, colour printing and scanner bit. Use to do uni notes on laser (B/W) but a slight pain to see diagrams of human bits and pieces without color :)

          @aussiedealseeker: Yep fair enough. I always consider if someone else can use the deal before I give my 2c.

          @thedude23: Thanks :)

  • These ink cartridges are not Canon OEM as stated in your description! Just compatible cartridges….

    Thanks for that - I was about to give Kogan cash for cartridges for my MG7160 - this works out a lot better :-)

    • You can also buy the Canon MX926, Just found it takes the same carts

        I have this and quite like it. Works well for home use and cartridges (ebay) are cheap. It has duplex scan/print mode too. Can't complain at all

        • Great to hear. I recently got done over with HP DRM Self Destruct software, that was bulit into the printer. Blocks all 3rd party Carts and in a way bricks the printer unless geniune is used. The HP OfficeJet Pros were great until that happened. Canon seems to be the way forward at the moment. Plus its a small investment and even know the printer isnt on special (its about the cheap ink) you get alot for your cash

          @aussiedealseeker:

          Yup. Just to clarify mine is the MX926. Not sure what the difference is.

        • @gimme: MX926 has PIXMA Cloud Link 11 and 0.5" larger screen and seems to be twice the price. Slightly confused myself now. I know the MX726 is exclusive to office works. Maybe the MX726 is just rebranded old stock, as the MX926 is getting alittle on in ages. I'm very confused haha

          @aussiedealseeker:

          No idea sorry. I bought my 926 from TGG for less than $139 last year + free cartridge from Canon at the time.

        • @gimme: Not a bad price. I can only see TGG $199 and Bing Lee $149.
          I do see prices and specials on the MX926 going back to 2013. Kinda glad it still around, even though price is much the same, ink is rock bottom :)

          @aussiedealseeker:

          On second look, this was it. So $105, including a $30 bonus cartridge.

          May be wait for another ebay deal? if it's ever available.

        • @gimme: That's pretty decent. Wish I saw this in 2015 before getting my silly HP printer

    If you don't have an OW nearby you can just buy it from their ebay store with "Fast n' Free" delivery (minus 1.25% Cashrewards)

      Thanks Kindly Greg-Fiona, I have updated the post :)

  • I bought this printer from OW and returned 3 times because this printer stop printing a single colour after a few weeks of uses.
    I have tried deep cleaning many times without success.

    • you mean you got 3 printers with the exact same issue??

      • Similar issues - one or more colour inks stopped coming out even after several deep clean.

    • May be you need a new cartridge ?

      • Installed new cartridges, cleaned the printhead, same issue.
        Conclusion: the printhead/nozzles of particular colours are dead.

      • Do you work for Canon or Officeworks?

        • No I do not. Did you change to the genuine cartridge ? or the 3rd party cartridges?
