DJI isn't new to drones though.
          GoPro are.

        • I agree with turkz1 - not really first gen, more of just refining! May not be worth it if you already have a P4, but definitely is if you're buying your first drone!

    • 15th of Oct. No chance.

I'm on the hunt for one as well. What's the best you've found so far? DWI have them for $629, but I'd prefer to buy local for ease of replacement/returns. 99 Bikes have them for $749 plus $5 for their Club 99 membership.

        • @perthite: You have a listing right now for preorder and you're telling me there's no chance for 20% off in the coming sale? Do you mind bridging the disconnect for me? If I purchase a preorder listing that's part of the sale I get to score 20% off regardless of physical stock being present or not don't I?

Futu is on a roll. At this rate they can leave their prices jacked up all the time

  • I'm not so sure about this deal, eBay haven't used the same coupon twice in past. Perhaps they accidentally put out an old ad for the coupon from July?

Also: the original URL on this deal was \http://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/sales/FEA-Tech-Sale-VQ-04102016. These sales are always \http://www.ebay.com.au/too/[sale name]. The /rpp/sales/ are normally for minor sales that don't use a coupon.

They didn't jack last sale.. On 15% ebay storewide one, they reduced it.

      • The logo at the top going, different links to product ranges etc.

  • +2

    The price will rise.

    • not necessarily

speculation that they will doesn't mean it will always happen

  • +1

eBay are spending A LOT on subsidising these sales. Not complaining - love a bargain - but it can't be good for the future of the site

    • +6

You reliaze the sellers make them the money, they can afford to discount largely based on the exhorbant fees they charge sellers to list, plenty of profit for ebay, granted they also own gumtree, which a lot of people don't belive but its true

      • These discounts are larger than the listing fee. I'm sure they're making money overall - but if people are only shopping during the ebay-subsidised % off sales, that can't be good for eBay's bottom line

        • +1

          Possibly
but they have posted profits every single year, granted the smaller sellers do not use them due to fees
the biggest turnover sellers are the cash cows, ebay is also a global company, just remember that, Australian sales are a small % of their global income feed

I am also talking about the discount being provided by ebay to the sellers just fuels more sales for sellers, its kind of like a circle, More sales even discounted = more profit overall for sellers / ebay

As most people know, business has a bottom line they pay for a product and upmark, even with 15 to 20% off I bet theyre still making $$$ on the item as their fee % are reduced greatly by the more they sell

          My theory anyway

    • +1

Hmm. They might be thinking, people buy stuff from ebay sales and then sell their old stuff on ebay. Profit…
Retailers should give better discounts on their own websites. Good Guys, Harvey and JB have good web portals..

    • +1

Sellers jack prices…ebay will be fine

    • +2

My guess is that eBay simply waive the listing and final value fees (approx. 10%) and ask the sellers to offer 10% discount. 10% + 10% = 20%. It might explain why some retailers like to raise prices during these promotion.

Without these promotions, buying brand new items from retailers through eBay is not attractive.

    • +1

They are doing these sales for a reason, their usage number has really been diving for the last few years. Which it should, given how bad their fees and systems have become.

  • Pisses me off the way TV's can be $500+ cheaper during these sales right after we just bought from JB..

    • that tends to be the way doesnt it

      I feel your pain

      • It is really depressing. These deals are never around when i need them. Already locked into JB as we returned our other TV. Now will see the same thing about $580 cheaper tomorrow. We did get a $300 JB gift card with it through a promo which finishes today, but rather have the cash :[

        • That's a good deal though
Could still sell it for a small loss in value

Still if it's free it's not really out of your pocket :p

        • +1

@shawncro 222: yeah im trying not to dwell on it. Taking into account the gift card (approx value of $280 if sold) we paid about $296 more than it will be with this ebay deal. I can comfort mysdlf knowing that most peopld would just pay sticker and not know about these ebay deals and gift card promos i guess.

It pays to wait sometimes. Patience is a virtue.

      • +1

Only problem is waiting for the right price and time night cause dissapointment when you miss out

Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet at the known risk it may be cheaper later

        • I hate paying more than I should. Sometimes when it goes even cheaper I buy multiples to lower my average cost, but this can become potentially dangerous hoarding mentality. This only works best with small ticket items unless you have money to burn.

I'm at a point where I seldom have strong desires to acquire additional material possessions or the latest and greatest stuff, but will gladly take up any offer at the right price.

  • Any good go pro 5 deals?

  • I need a Sony A7IIs. What's the lowest people have seen them for?

    • +3

I'm pretty sure they are all the same height

      • +1

hahahaha donno why you get so many neg, but this one is funny to mehahaha

    • +1

i got the last stock in the fist ebay 20% deal back in July or Aug…. xD 2200 listing price, but sonyebaystore already has its own discount going on like 10%, and with that code final price is around 1510ish. so fking happy

      • That's a great price. Shame I missed it, but wasn't looking then. PM me know if you find anything similar this time.

        • Did you mean an A7II, or an A7S II? Pretty sure Hornpub's price would be for an A7II only..

        • @mooboy: A7IIs. Is there much difference between the two or should I go with the entry level A6000?

        • @YellowKnight:
A little confused by what you're saying bby "A7IIs", as there are 3 main models.
A7 II - all rounder and cheapest
A7S II - more specialised for video
          A7R II - higher-end than A7II

An A7 II will be fine, but if you're unsure what you need and just planning to stick with kit lens, then an A6000 might be a better place to start. Will depend a bit on what kind of photos/videos you're planning to shoot too.

        • @mooboy: I was looking mainly for video and vlogging. One where I could install an app for timelapse would be great too.

But hopefully, I haven't missed out on all the great previous deals.

        • ohh you meant A7Sii, usually ppl put "s" or "r" before the generation xD

yeah mine was just A7ii, i haven't seen A7Rii or A7Sii on the SonyEbay store before, and all the camera seems like "second" which is refurbished (not too sure).

The latest model is very hard to find a decent discount. Which is also a good thing, means you dont lose too much if you just go buy with full price.

        • @YellowKnight: have you looked into A6300? the 4k video alone with logs-PP is really appearing for Video works.

        • @Hornpub: No, I haven't. Is that a model up from the A6000? Best deal I found on here was for just under $600 0 for twin lens kit for the A6000. But that was awhile ago.

        • @YellowKnight:
6300 is the successor to 6000 which just came out this April if i recall correctly.

it has major video improvements like 4k and log file. better sensor and better focus. its definitely one of the hottest APS-C trival firendly camera right now.

as for A6000, i bought mine from gumtree second hand for 350$ body only. paired with some old Russian vintage lens, amazing video already. i dont know too much about native APS-c sony lens tho.(i focus on full frame).

at end of the day, it all depends on your needs. maybe you dont even need an inter-changeable lens camera. For that, cyber-shot line up might do the job. Or maybe you are a serious videographer who looking for best quality alone with portability.

correct me if i am wrong, i think A6300 has the best video quality at that price range. It offers the most in that little body :)

        • @Hornpub: So the A6000 is an APS-C ssensor? I thought it was full frame.

        • @YellowKnight: both A6000 and A6300 are APS-C. that is why they are way cheaper than Alpha line up. consider A7Sii is almost 3 times the price….

    • New listing up on Ted's eBay if you are interested.

Sony A7 II Body. Just under $1690 posted after code.

Didn't look into it much but seems okay looking at past deals

Hopefully PCCG is one of the retailers. Wanting to get a Ducky mechanical keyboard

    • +1

I wouldn't hold out for this. They sometimes do partake in these sales but then all the stuff in their eBay store is jacked up $20 so the savings aren't that good.

      • +1

PCCG includes free postage on ebay, probably why it costs a bit more

        • PCGG costs a LOT more on eBay. They rape you on freight in their website too, especially on multiple items… they are not a good place to buy from.

    • +1

Have never seen PCCG involved in this sale before.

      • +1

PCCG prices on their ebay page are usually more than their website normally anyway, let alone during ebay sales. 20% is just enough to make it worthwhile though… just.

      • +2

They've definitely participated before. I've bought 2 products from them when they were a part of it. Wouldn't hold my hopes on it happening though.

        • Unless that was during a time when everything on eBay was on sale. I'm not too sure not actually. Haha.
