3362
TELPRESBOH10

Get 3 Months Presto on us for both new and existing Presto customers.

Existing customers in their final free month can add this by doing the following.

  1. Pause subscription

  2. Enter the code in the promo box, do not contact Presto Support as they will not add it without proof of eligibility.

" Note: Presto will no longer be available as of 31 January 2017 and will be removed from all platforms past this date." It appears this promo/free accounts will not be transitioned to Foxtel Play.

      • yep just looked then i have been charged now $30 from them! trying to get a refund but i doubt i will be able to

        • I was in the same boat, over 6 months they met me half way saying they would credit my account. For some strange reason I read that as 'credit me back my money' but they just gave me 3 months extra for free (which we all know is as good as nothing). Have to get back on to them about it

        • Double fisted ouch

  • Am I the only one who feel sorry for them? But survival of the fittest I suppose. Netflix is better than Presto but not by that much. Really wasn't that hard to beat the competition only if Presto just had better content. UI is not that bad, no subtitles is also not a show stopper. Really just better content better pricing would have probably done the trick.

Am I the only one who feel sorry for them?

      Yes.

    • +2

Their hope is that when they shut down Presto next year they can convince Presto customers to join Foxtel Play. I'm sure that email will go down well

"The bad news is that we're shutting down Presto. The good news is that you can switch to Foxtel Play now for a larger fee"

    • When it comes to the app and general ease of use, Netflix s*hits all over Presto

  • +3

Like most others here I never paid for Presto since the beginning. Mr Robot was good, but I find Stan and Netflix much better. With the Foxtel streaming service that will replace Presto it will have advertisements - so wouldn't even take that for free.

    • +2

I only have Presto for Mr.Robot. Now that season 2 is over I guess its kinda pointless now since it will be shutting down soon.

  • Sooo good. thanks! (but how are they not bankrupt yet?)

  • I'm getting the “error occurred when applying the promo code” message, even though my previous promo ends in 5 days. I've tried pausing/unpausing without luck. I've emailed [email protected] for assistance. :(

    • Here is Presto's response: "After taking a look into your account it appears that you are currently subscribed to another promotional offer. At this point in time, Presto does not allow customers the ability to stack promotional codes to their account, unless they are in the final month of their current offer. Please attempt to apply this code after the 9th of October, 2016."

If I wait until the 9th of October, won't I actually get billed between the expiration time and applying the new code?

  • +1

Worked perfectly on my expired account, thanks OP

  • Would never pay for it, it's a godawful service whose only redeeming quality is the surprisingly good range of content on it.

  • thanks. extension worked for once.

  • Extension not working this time, posting so I can remember to try later

  • NO! presto has frasier and cheers aka 2 of the greatest sitcoms, nay greatest shows ever. i dont wanna do this foxtel shit to (profanity) stream the good shit!

    • Frasier is also available on Stan.

  • Thanks op. Got this to compare with Netflix. The interface through my Fetch box is poor, may stick to Netflix. May change my opinion after 3 month trial if content is better

  • Cant find where to enter this code? (where is this tab 'enter code' ?

Im still active with a 6 month free code.

    • -1

      Read the thread

      • -1

I did and cant find that tab - some are saying its there and some not. So just want to confirm exactly.

        • You cannot apply it if you are active

  • Sweeeet!!! Thanks OP

  • -1

Sounds like I am the only person who actually pays for Presto. I've been a paying customer for over a year with no regrets. The iPad app works well and I find it so much better to use than Netflix and their endless nonsensical "recommendations". Their movie selection is great and they regularly add movies that I haven't seen and am interested in. I'm disappointed they are ending but it's hardly surprising reading all the comments from freeloaders who do nothing but complain.

I'll give you a free 4 month subscription to watch my wall. I'll even paint it with fresh paint after a month!
    Code YOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR

  • Also had 2 months code on a Coles shopper docket: SD2MHOB1716 (exp 31/1/2017). Not sure if it works with existing accounts.

  • Just a heads up. Apparently if you are already on a Promotion you wont see the drop down box to enter another promo code. They said all you have to do is drop them a line with your member details to [email protected] and they will apply the promo for you.See below the reply to another customer.

    Thanks for getting in touch!

I've had a look at your account and can see that you're currently on a promotion. This means you won't be able to add an additional promo yourself.

If you do have another promo code, just send it through to us at [email protected] and we'll take care of it for you!

  • Free is a good price for Presto.

    • +4

      Still a little high.

  • +1

I'm not a doctor but I think 3 months of pesto wouldn't be healthy.

  • thanks OP.
was on 3 mths trial with Stan. now subscribed to Presto for 3 mths.
i found contents at presto more suited me but interface is terrible… and no subtitle option….
and… it was so hard to find and browse..where are all new movies and dramas???
no wonder why it's going down.

  • +2

FYI - They're on to us!

Possibly my fault for sending an enquiry to support team with the code copied and pasted from OZB - they might have matched the font and size or something…

They basically said 'if you can prove your entitled to it, well give it to you'. I've already had 18 months for free. got around this by cancelling current account (free til 10/10/2016) and starting a new one with different email address.

Anyway here's my response from Presto support:

    Thanks for getting in touch.

As you may be aware, OzBargain is a site where bargain enthusiasts share offers that they find with other bargain hunters – A bargain community. The sharing of this code on OzBargain was not something that Presto initiated, but for those that redeemed the offer during its period of eligibility were able to redeem the offer.

Offers are shared and moderated in this environment by the OzBargain community, and in many cases do not provide details of code expiry timings in posts. When they find it doesn’t work, it is marked ‘Expired'. We have a number of promotional offers in market, and find that bargain hunters on OzBargain have shared these in the past, which you’d see from a quick search of the site.

OzBargain is not an officially endorsed distribution channel for Presto promotional codes (the original code you provided was from a Telstra promotion), so in order to be able to provide you with any sort of refund or compensation, you’d need to be able to prove your eligibility for this offer as an eligible Telstra customer (via a promotional email or mail from Telstra).

If you feel you are eligible for the offer and are indeed a Telstra customer, we recommend that you contact Telstra on 13 22 00 to discuss your eligibility and acquire the updated promotional offer code for this campaign.

If they provide you with the promotional code please send us a screenshot of your communications with Telstra and we can look at applying this for you.

    Thanks,
    From the Presto Support Team

    • Me too! :(

      • same for me - i replied asking nicely to add it anyway

      • same for me - i replied asking nicely to add it anyway

  • Yep they got me too! doh!

  • If I am a Telstra customer, how would I get the code?

  • OP maybe update the heading that Presto is shutting down 31 January. @JordanM

    http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2016/10/presto-to-end-in-january…

    • Presto should be a free service till 31 jan
its not worth paying $14.99 per month for movies & tv

    • Will add to the post now. Still worth it for the mean time and it possibly being a Foxtel Play offer if you redeem it on presto before close.

  • Is this code dead? Gives me an error when I try to enter it.

  • +1

When my previous 6/12 free subscription ran out yesterday a little code box miraculously appeared under my paused subscription. The code TELPRESBOH10 worked! Once I was subscribed again I just paused my account and that way you will never be charged by them. You still get Presto til your free period runs out! Yay! it still comes up as only a 1/12 free period but I think I will get 3/12. I will wait and see.

  • -3

    Doesn't work!!!

You have to be a telstra account holder.

    • If you emailed them asking them to manually add it to your account, fair enough/read the messages above.

You dont need to be a Telstra account holder for new signups. or to renew an existing service in the last month (when the promo code box appears)

      • -1

No…. I tried to renew it with the code. It wouldn't work so then I emailed them.

        • Did it show a promo box to enter a code or the box didnt show?

  • Deal is still available :)

  • Does anyone have any idea if/when this code will expire? I would like to apply this in late January to hopefully get ~3 months free Foxtel Play.

  • doesn't work. I can enter this code and it says code applied for 3 months, but when I refresh screen it says my account is suspended.

  • signed up, thanks

  • Thanks worked a treat!

  • +1

I tried applying the code to my service which expires in 6 days (in the promo code box)… and it will not let me, there's an error that says to email them. So, I paused my subscription… and then applied the code.. and it worked. It now says I have 3 months free. Thanks OP..

    • Great, will edit the OP/add those details :)

  • Sweet, just done it on a paused account.

    Thank you.

  • Beware - they are charging even if the promo code was successfully applied. What have people done when charged after 1 month, despite having a 3 month code?

    Thanks for writing in.

    • In my experience that is not that case, so no issues/anything when signing up? (odd, new account or existing? )

The code is current/has not changed. I just tried it and it worked and said "You will be charged $0.00 per month for the first 3 months, then $14.99 per month there after
It is still avalible for the manage telstra tv website or simply say I signed up under the terms of 3 months free, if you refuse to refund me/honour it I will do a chargeback/complain.whatever.

  • As soon as I get the promo code accepted I immediately pause the account and it always then tells you when your account will expire. Then when that month expires I just put the code in again and immediately pause it again and get another month free. This way you never get charged even if you forget the expiry date.

    • Interesting, I just applied the code today. When I click pause it shows a subscription end date of 19/12/16.

Was your end date +3 months?

      • +1

The subscription date always seems to be a month from when I subscribe( even when Presto says 3 months free). As soon as code accepted I pause account so I don't forget to go back and pause and get charged. I have been getting Presto for 9 months now and haven't paid a cent. On the back of K Mart dockets there is a new code for 2 months free Presto at the moment. SD2MSYDE1716 EXPIRY 31/01/17. Pretty sure its a generic code for everyone.

        • Thanks, I've never paused it before.

Just set reminders in my calendar to check for expiry and have yet to be charged (going on 2yrs).

Perhaps the pause date is just the end of the current bill cycle of 1 month.

  • +1

    Worked for me today.

Last redemption was 6 months free. Now another 3 months. Never had to pay for it.

    • Same my free subscription was ending on 7/12. Applied the code and got another 3 months free.

  • My 6 month subscription expires on 4/12/16, applied this code today, got a confirmation saying I won't be charged for 3 months. As soon as I paused it, my date was still 4/12/16 so I've left it paused otherwise I'm concerned it'll still charge me.
edit: paused it again and applied it a second time and the date now reads 3/1/17.

    • So you only got 1 month free? I'm in the same boat, applied the code said 3 months free, was due to expire 6/12/2016, but now says expiring on 6/1/2017, i.e. just 1 month added. Maybe it's because of the presto close-down on 31/1/2017? I'll check it again before expiry, and apply another code if needed.

  • I am having trouble with presto settings.I can not get to billing or devices. My promo expires on the 10/12/2016, I can pause my sub but can not enter any new codes after un-pausing or anything.

My sister inlaw is having the same problem with her account.

    Anyone else having any problems?

    Cheers.

    • In my experience you cannot enter a new code until previous code has expired. that is why it's important to pause your account so you dont forget date and get charged. Just pop back in once expired, put in new code and you're apples!

  • Thanks worked great after my previous 6 months free.

  • Still works, renewed today. Existing subscriber. That'll do me till the shutdown!

  • Worked ok for me today. It took me to 15 March but obviously will end 31 Jan.

Per below, it doesn't say (or look like that Foxtel Play will allow or honor any expiry dates after 31 Jan).

And regardless if F/Play is any good or not, their pricing is sky high for what they are offering imo - even though Presto customers will get a promo code allowing 2 weeks free.

    Saw this comment on 'tvtonight.com.au……..

"Foxtel is offering Presto subscribers a two week free trial to Foxtel Play, which will replace the platform from the end of January.

Presto subscribers are also being offered Foxtel Play’s Pop and Movies tiers for $15 per month for three months, but its regular price of $35 per month is well above current Presto pricing.

The Pop tier includes a some of Foxtel’s most popular channels, with programs that were unavailable on Presto, including showcase titles Game of Thrones, Westworld plus A Place to Call Home, Wentworth and more. It also includes the Binge channel featuring complete seasons of True Blood, The Walking Dead and more. Upcoming Home and Away event Revenge, with Dan Ewing and Lisa Gormley is also included.

The Movies tier features all of Foxtel’s movie channels and pop-up movies channels.

Foxtel Play offers access to the Pay TV platform without a full home installation and represents a renewed push in the Streaming market. Today it has added competition with Amazon Prime Video now available in Australia.

It features five different entry level tiers including Drama and Pop packs priced at $15 per month each or $25 for both, plus Lifestyle, Documentary and Kids packs for $10 each per month, plus the Movies tier for an additional $20 per month; and the Sports tier for an extra $29 per month.

Current Presto subscribers will receive a promo code for use at www.foxtelplay.com.au/presto.

Foxtel Play is also now available on Telstra TV with HD streaming."….
