Thanks to nigelpink

They offer a 7 day money back period, claim not to keep logs, allow 5 simultaneous connections and sponsor the EFF.

1080p link tested and working smoooth via Adsl2.
Was previosly geoblocked.

One con:

The don't seem to offer any kind of traditional proxy service (PIA offer 1 SOCKS proxy in the Netherlands)

(unsure the dates of the code expiry)

  • I subscribed last week, to get certain countries IP address, and was not at all happy, really slow speeds. I cancelled their subscription, and waiting for refund.

    • Thanks.

      Question regarding streaming speeds.

  • anyone looking for VPN deal always have a squiz at the VPN coupons section on reddit.
There's often decent deals to be had. But always sign up to a trial account first to see if you like it & that it actually works.

Personally I like torguard (but I don't stream videos, so can't voucher for speeds). But plenty of others rate PIA, Nord, Ivacy.

lastly ignore VPN review sites, they're pretty much all shams,

    • I'd suggest staying away from Nord. They've got a lot of servers, and low prices, but I've found them to be pretty slow and provide an unstable connection. Come to think of it, I have accounts with all 4: PIA, Ivacy, IPVanish and Nord. Not sure how that happened…

PIA Sydney is my browsing mainstay. Very good speeds and stability (at least on a wired connection, wireless seems to fragment to all hell for some reason). I'm currently 'testing' Ivacy and IPVanish now. IPVanish seem pretty stable and 'fast enough'. They also seem to have pretty secure defaults (AES-256-CBC, TLS CA cert verification).

Ivacy are cheap, but their servers and speeds don't seem so great. Maybe they're just having a bad day but there seems to be something wrong with their Sydney datacentre…

  • +1

I've used these guys for a year or so… generally happy with speeds (normally use LA or Japan servers). But these guys (like a LOT of other vpn providers) have been blacklisted by Netflix.

So don't go with them if your primary reason is to circumvent Netflix geo-blocking.

    • I load netflix content via a software and addons
