According to some OzBargainers it's the way into the after life

Although I like the comment from stuhtb too!

If you're out of the city then it's the fastest band with the widest coverage. Many towers only have B28 for 4G.

      • It provides better coverage and faster data speeds. I always figured data speeds are already fast enough, especially with the low data allowance typical plans offer these days. I've also haven't noticed any difference coverage wise, but that just my experience. Your mileage may vary. :)

Personally I'd rather pay a little more for the 3gb/32gb model. It's not a huge difference cost wise, but the extra ram and storage is always nice.

Great phone for the price. I've had one for 3ish months now as my primary phone and my dad's had one for 2ish months. Very good battery life (~2 days for me, ~5 days for my dad), screen's great, fast and responsive, low heat, GPS is reliable once you get it going (I had a problem with it that required multiple ROM flashes to fix). MIUI is actually pretty good IMO and expecting a Marshmallow update in the coming months. The only major downside is the camera which is OK but not close to an iPhone 7 or Galaxy S7 level or even an older iPhone 5 or S4 level. There's a debateable downside of there not being serious cases available for it like the Otterbox - they damage pretty easily from small drops onto hard surfaces. That happened to my dad's with this "rugged" case on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt_5P6eHNao

    • Thanks. Very handy to know, esp marshmallow update.

      • marshmallow? I just keep updating the global roms?

        • It will be part of one of those updates, albeit a bigger than usual one.

    • Just a question, have you ever had battery life issues? I picked one up for a friend who loves it but says the battery is awful. We never flashed it at all, just removed some dodgy apps and then as there were no other obvious issues left it at that.

      • No, quite the opposite. As I said - lasts 5 days for my dad who uses it almost exclusively for calls and lasts 2 days for me. I use it for email, twitter, snapchat, web browsing and GPS.

        • Did you flash it as soon as it came? Reports at the time I bought it were that a flash was a good idea to remove any spy/mallard, maybe there's something dodgy stopping it from power saving

        • @Jackson: I did. Used these instructions: http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html

        • @tantryl: thanks mate, just realised this is for the 3 and I picked up the 2. Definitely past my bed time
