      • Better insurance buying from Amazon too ;)

the promises everything, delivers nothing edition

  • Yeah not sold on Zotac

What is Zotacs warranty like in AUS. I know evga are amazing followed by gigabyte then asus then msi. Where does Zotac fall? Also any comments about quality?

    • +5

Zotac does not sell anything in Australia. My 980ti failed for no reason and when i called there support centre in the UK they told me you will have to ship the card to us with your proof of purchase and we dont do international shipping so no warranty for you. But if you buy it from amazon then you can send the card straight to amazon and they will replace it, i have heard that amazon will pay for the return postage.

I wouldn't rely on amazon for this.

My 970 I brought from them died last year and once it was outside 90days of purchase they redirect you to the manufacturer.

Great news is my replacement 970 caught fire yesterday so now I'm doing the same thing >.< I did try amazon again but yeah redirected

          is that a samsung 970?

        • @qtvinsta: thats what all my friends keep saying haha funny enough I did just put a samsung SSD in my pc……

Its EVGA if people wanted to know.

        • @taurenpally:

How did it happen? were you overclocking? never heard of a GFX card catching fire before!

        • @lancedefrance: nope was just stranded out of the box evga 970.

my first one just stopped out putting power last year so i got a replacement from evga which was this one and was playing deus ex MKD when pc turned off then flames came shooting out from the 970 turned power off at the point flames stopped took the card out and can see under the heat sink some of the chips have fried.

and i took the card out within 2mins and it was cool enough to touch so wasn't heat related.

Did you actually read any of that article you linked?

      • More than half of people that share links do not read any of the articled bod. Obviously this person did not not.

        • Didn't even appear to read the headline in this case…

  • For anyone interested just had to RMA my EVGA GTX1080 and yeah the warranty was crazy good… 2 days after my card was received by EVGA the replacement brand new card was at my door… 2 days from Taiwan!

Just showing potential differences of service vs Zotac, I have nothing against as I have a Zotac mobo :P But thats $150 vs $900 investment.

    • Nice, I heard good thing about EVGA warranty, 2 days, that's fast, imagine you send stuff within Australia via AusPost, it will take you 3 time as long for the item to arrived.

      • Personally, I won't be buying another EVGA product again.

Had to RMA my PSU for my hadron. Made me pay the shipping price to send it all the way to taiwan and took 4 weeks to get my PSU back to me.

They should have covered shipping costs, I only got compensated once I had a whinge at them on twitter.

        • Yeah ive already paid the return costs twice and im about to do it again >.<

what did you say to them on twitter to get them to compensate you?

    • My Global Priority Express guaranteed 3 day delivery from the UK has been stuck in Sydney since the 26th of September!!!
Border and customs f****** ****s. I paid GBP 189 to have my parcel here in 3 days.

      • Are you able to do anything about that?? Like maybe get a refund for the Express shipping?? Kinda new to overseas purchasing

        • They suspended the guarantee bcos of Borders & Customs strike, so they rejected my claim.
I'm still waiting for it :(

      • You paid $300 AU for priority shipping? Wow you must really want to game asap lol

        • lmao I bought a GTX1060 for the 2 weeks my GTX1080 was away.

          Game is life.

  • Tempting - but will still wait for 1080ti (if it ever comes!)

    • I'm waiting too!! They've said it would be announced either December, or more likely in January at CES 2017 :D I'm so pumped!!! Though, I personally think the price would be about $900USD… Because that's (pretty much) in the middle of the 1080's price and the Titan XPs price… Which would make it $1,500AUD here :/ correct me if I'm wrong

      • What sort of conversion rate did you use to get $1,500.

At 0.70 to the dollar its under $1,300.00

  • I don't get it… I may be new to buying overseas, but doesn't this GPU not ship to Australia??
