  • Perfect timing, thanks.

Travel 1-6 December so just make it in.

EDIT: What did you mean by 4.8% cashback with cash rewards, if not a le club member?

What's the significance of being or not being a member?

    • Le club is the free accor hotels loyalty program where you can get points and status for stays. The special terms on the cashrewards website state that if you are get rewarded through points with le club then you can not also get cashback.

      • I'm assuming that cashback is worth more, unless eligible for the bonus points offer you've mentioned above.

        • EDIT: if you are talking about Amex deal, not necessarily, if you do get breakfast they often charge a fortune for it, so if you score 40% PLUS free breakfast it could work out more than $100 cashback for a $200+ spend. Furthermore, its percentage based on whatever the total is, whereas if you spend $260 on your stay, with the cashback deal its still only $100 back (which is less than 40% with no free breakfast).

        • If you are a classic member (no status) you get 4%back in points for novotel/mercure/pullman/sofitel and 2%back in points from ibis/ibis styles. This increases with status to the max of 8% and 4% for platinum members. However being a le club member gives you other benefits such as free wifi and drink vouchers also access to bonus points promos.

Or use cash rewards but book via Expedia for 5.5% back and collect Expedia points if a casual stayer

  • +7

It's actually up to 40% off. I think you should add those two words to the title.

Can someone find a good deal that is actually a total 40% off?

    • Someone? Anyone?

      • +1

I beleive it is 40% off "rack rate" for Accor Plus members (which is a paid membership - anyone with the free Le Club card gets 30% off rack rates).
One of the reasons that it may seem a smaller discount is that most hotels already have various other promotions with varying levels of discount.

Note that generally the cheapest rates don't include breakfast, so the free breakfast for 2 is not bad (especially for the more expensive places where breakfast can be $30-40pp).

  • +6

    Accor hotels 40% off

    If only that was true.
more like 10-15% off in reality

For those wondering why they are unable to see the sale rates yet:

This offer is valid for reservations:
    - made from October 10 to 21, 2016 for Accor Plus members,
    - made from October 11 to 21, 2016, for Le Club AccorHotels members,
    - made from October 13 to 21, 2016 for subscribers to AccorHotels-brand newsletters and subscribers to
certain ACCOR partners and Le Club AccorHotels
    - and made from October 17 to 21, 2016, for the general public

    • +1

This should be in the deal description, can someone add this please

    • Pretty sure I am a Le Club AccorHotels member (and signed in), but there is still no indication on search of a discount for the hotels. Does this show in the hotel search when a % off discount is applied?

      • To be honest I don't know, a hotel I was looking at this morning was there with the sale rate on all room types and now its not part of the sale, but listed as participating in the promotion. Check the list to make sure your hotel is participating and if so, just check tomorrow as sometimes accor's website does strange things.

    • Thanks, added to the description.

I don't see any discounts for HK hotels during this period…

I'm a Le Club member and I could see discounted prices for Singapore hotels already, even though I shouldn't see anything until tomorrow. So I'm not sure if HK is included in this sale or not?

    • Hi, how much did you see in Singapore? I'm only seeing 30% off with free breakfast.

      • That's what I saw for the Ibis Novena. I've stayed there, it's not a bad place and they offer a shuttle bus to Novena MRT (or you can walk about 10-15 mins). There's at least three food courts within walking distance from the hotel too.

        • Thanks for the quick hotel review! I was thinking of staying there too haha

        • +1

          @montorola:

If you don't mind the fact it's 2 stops from Orchard Road (and a few more to get into the heart of Singapore) then it's a good cheap place to stay. Breakfast isn't too bad either.

Now if only an Ibis in HK would get on board!!

  • Amex offer will also apply?

    • no, because this needs online prepayment.

      • can't you prepay this via amex? amex offer still stands isn't it?

sorry I am referring to the Spend $200 or more, get $100 back amex offer. unless there is some other offer i am not aware of

        • +1

That offer requires payment at the hotel at checkin/out and excludes these discounted pre payment

        • +1

          @TheStahh:
'Book directly with AccorHotels' refers to booking or reserving a room via any direct “AccorHotels booking channel” on www.accorhotels.com or directly on premises with the participating Australian properties.

edit: ah right i see it now. it needs to be payment at the hotel option as oppose to online payment?

        • +1

@Desailly: yep exactly would be great if it worked not sure if anyonr has tested it i guess it depends how they charge online payments might be the same and would work.

  • Sorry I was silly

I thought you were a Rhodes Scholar.

not cheap, more expensive then my existing booking

  • Topcashback is 6% cashback

  • nvm worked it out.

  • I swear, this promo is always tricky to find with the bookings open to certain people and only certain hotels - and then some people say the prices go up before discounting. Hmmm

  • Damn great deal but I miss out by 1 week in Dubai :(

I still get 10% discount for being a member at least

  • Thanks for the post OP.

3 nights for 2 adults at Cairns Novotel with Breakfast for $324 less $100 Amex credit = $224!! Ohh and then 4.8% cashrewards on the $324 too! Absolute Steal!

    • +6

and before people comment on "This offer cannot be combined with the amex cashback offer as it is a 'online payment' rate and not a 'payment at hotel' rate".

I've just received an email from Amex acknowledging purchase and to allow 5 days for credit to statement.

      • so it doesn't matter if it is the 'online payment' rate or 'payment at hotel' rate? (obviously online payment rate would be cheaper)

        NICE!

      • +1

I just booked with amex and received the casback email although it does say "if your purchase meets the offer terms" so unsure whether it will be eligible. Bonus if it is.

        • Did you book a hotel in Australia with your amex?

I'm thinking of booking overseas (Singapore), wonder if it'd work lol - how would they know?

        • how long did it take for you to receive the cashback email?

  • ofcourse it's not valid for NYC 1st weeks of dec. the most expensive week of the year. will be interesting to see prices over xmas week

  • +1

keeps defaulting to euro currency. no idea why.

    • It happens when using my mobile. I avoid it on my mobile by clicking on menu up the top left of the page, then find a hotel then it opens to a desktop version of the booking page. No more annoying euro/aud problems.

    • Click AUD at the top of the pages enough times and eventually it sticks for all pages.

  • I can't seem to book for dates in March for NZ hotels. Tells me there are no rates available under that deal.
I'm a Le Club member, do i have to wait for midday or something?

  • +6

For those who are talking about the Amex cashback - I had booked a stay prior to this deal (same price anyway) and paid in full online, deducted from my card 6/10 and email received saying the cashback had activated if the stay met the conditions, as another poster details above. Have received my cashback 10/10 even though the stay is not until December. So don't be surprised if you get the cashback without paying AT the hotel, or getting it prior to your stay, may vary from hotel to hotel though as the cashback notation on my statement is the name of the hotel I am staying at.

    • Sounds promising! Was this for a hotel overseas or within Australia only? I don't know whether that AMEX promotion is valid for Australian hotels only

      • Australian hotel.

    • Also received my $100 cashback today from Amex for a hotel booking in Melbourne. Booking was made on Tuesday.

The two different Accor memberships are quite different, so I thought I'd summararise them as follows:

You can book on this sale early if you join the (free) Le Club program.
This is worthwhile as it also gives you free internet worthwhile.
You can see a comparison of the Le Club benefits here:
    http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/leclub/program/cards-status-be…

If you are looking at taking advantage of this sale it is almost always worth joining the Accor Plus program.
This gives you early access to the sale plus an additional 10% off all prices (even the super sale prices!).
Note that the additional 10% off actually works out about 15-20% less than the 30% of price (as the additional 10% is off the rack rate).
It also gives you a free night in most properties (which typically more than pays for the membership if you stay in an expensive place).
Joining in Australia is $385 but I joined earlier this year through Fiji which works out to about $200. Please PM me if you would like the contact details.
When you join Accor Plus it automatically gives you Silver status (which gives you late checkout & a welcome drink each).
Another benefit of Accor Plus is 50% off most meals at many of the Accor places (even if you are not staying there).
Here is the Accor Plus website for more info on the benefits:
    https://www.accorplus.com/en/australia

  • Looks like the special is over.
At least not anymore in London.

  • Booked this deal on Tuesday, paid with registered amex and got my cashback this morning. Awesome.

    • Good work. Which hotel?

      • Novotel glen waverley- great service at this hotel. Paid $137 a night including breaky.
        2 x $137 = $274 - $100 (amex credit)
I also got 4000 bonus points (value $116) as it was 4th stay under the bonus points promo.
Plus 8% loyalty points (platinum member) ($22 value).
Grand total of $36 for the stay.

        • thanks, i thought the amex cashback was only for selected hotels? so it's now for all accor hotels?

        • @mrbillions:
Part of the conditions of the Amex cashback are as follows:
All the following Australian Accor Brands: Grand Mercure, Ibis, Mercure, Novotel, The Sebel, Q Station Sydney Harbour National Park, Pullman, Sofitel and Quay West, excluding the following:
Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains MGallery by Sofitel, ibis Budget Melbourne Airport, ibis Styles Adelaide Grosvenor, ibis Styles Ballarat, ibis Styles Harrington, Mercure Gladstone, Swissotel Sydney, The Links Lady Bay Accor Vacation Club Apartments, The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort, The Sebel Swan Valley The Vines locations, Grand Mercure The Links, AVC Apartments, ibis styles Ballarat, Fairmont and Swissotel locations.

found this offer if anyone interested to signup for AccoPlus.. https://www.accorplus.com/mastercard

    • Good offer. I haven't seen discounts off australia accorplus before. There are cheaper accorplus deals via agents in asia though. Accorplus Australia has increased there fee alot over the last 2 years from $349 last year and $319 the year before.

      • +1

Yes, that's what I found - I organised the same membership via Fiji for about Aust$200 but this mastercard offer is a good deal if you want to book via the Australian website (and I think its the first one I've seen them offer).

  • does anyone know if you pay online for Sofitel eg, do they allow you split payment on 2 cards?

    • Not online but you could ring the booking number and ask.

      • +1

Thanks, I rang and booked through the hotel and they split the transanction manually onto 2 cards, not sure if it's going to work though as I havent received any email from amex. Finger crossed.

        • Sounds like you got a great deal!

        • +2

@shiningstars: thanks, got sofitel room and theater show package with buffet breakdast and valet parking for 280, not bad :)

        • @Prettyparrot:

          Well done parrot, awesome deal!

    • FYI, I have received email confirmation for both cards :)

  • I was looking at international hotels(moscow) and logged in but I can't see any discount on Novotel hotels other than 10%? How do I get this to work exactly?

    • Its on participating hotels and not all dates are available. Its only got a couple of days left of the sale so some dates may be sold out.

    • Although Novotel is part of the Accor group, the discount might be for other hotels (like Ibis).

I managed to get Ibis for 30% off in Singapore, which is pretty good considering how expensive Singapore is!

      • The Ibis hotels were only 10% off as well.

        • I also can't find any with a free breakfast. You may be right, they could be just booked out I suppose.
