    • Did you mean 30/10?

Otherwise I'm going to assume you traveled to the future and made a purchase.

        Whoopsie daisy! 😂

  • same here, just got my cashback.

  • +1

confirmed got too even before my balance is due :)
i think they give out cashbacks at end of month..

now just to pay the balance and close the card

  • I've got $0 owing on my statement (after paying off the $500+ spend in the first month) - will is till receive the cashback? Will it just end up as a positive amount or…

    • yes and yes

  • +1

    Just recieved my cashback $250..

  • My wife applied twice, got denied twice.. any tips? We tried lowering down the limit to $600.. still denied.. on the initial application the system gave her $7000 credit limit..

    • If it's denied then lowering limit will no help. They usually will reduce and send you a yes, If that was the issue. Credit score perhaps?

  • Does this include an Amex card as well or is it only single Mastercard?

Cash back received before payment due, perfect!

  • +1

Cashback received 5 days ago. Yay! That's less than a month. Wifey's cashback still waiting though she spent $500 two weeks earlier than me.

  • Cash back came on Friday before statement was due dancer emoji

Has anyone checked to see if they can withdraw the $250 from an ATM without getting charged the cash advance fee?

    • +1

You'll get charged $2.50 but it won't be treated as a cash advance if the account is in credit.

  • Anyone received their cashback yet?

    • Quite a few people seem to have, check above. It took less than 30 days for some.

      • People don't seem to understand that the credits are applied in cycles (60 days?). So it all depends on when you make the purchase and meet the criteria. You may get it in 2 days or 60 days.

    • Got mine

  • still waiting for my card since they stuffed up my application :( :( question though…is the first day of the statement the day you activate the card or is it when they approve you? if that makes sense…i applied simply to purchase 1 thing and hoping if its the day its activated i can just hold off activating until the item goes on sale

  • Got my cash back. 14 days 😀

  • would applying for this make me not able to get another CC deal with CBA with bonus FF points?

  • How can we cancel the card now? 😜

    • I found this on the website. I haven't checked to see if there are any problems with cancelling, but I'll look to be cancelling shortly.

"If you'd like to close or cancel an account you can visit any branch with appropriate identification or call 132221, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. "

      https://www.commbank.com.au/support/faqs/737.html?ei=gsa_sup…

    • I cancelled mine last time over the phone. They will try to convince you to keep the card for the full year, then ask if you signed up just the bonus.

Best to keep it open as long as there is no annual fee.

      • Oh wow. I might wait a couple more months. I wish it was easier to cancel online!

        • +1

Just cancelled over the phone. No pressure to keep etc. Done in a few mins. I'm always very polite but assertive. Don't tthink any bank allows you to cancel oonline these days.

  • Applied, approved. Done ID check in branch and still waiting for card. I hear they look awesome :-)

Applied for the ANZ deal after the CBA and have received card and done my transactions all ready.

    Yay. Go CBA!!

  • How can I see if the cashback has been applied to my account?

    • Because it'll show up in your transaction history….?

  • Anybody worked out a way to extract the full $250 without fees?

    • yes pay a bill or buy something. There's NO other way

      • Thanks. I guess spending it in needs or things I would have bought anyway would be the best way to extract full value.

  • I applied on approximately 30/10, received card and spent $500 on 10/11, received $250 cash back on 29/11, paid off the remaining $250 9/12. Just to confirm, the $250 cash back counts as paying off the credit card doesn't it?

    • I spent $500 on the 24/10 and don't have a cash back. Should I contact someone or spend more money…?

      • I'm in the exact same boat - spend $500 in October but haven't received cash back.

      • Perhaps contact them? I spent a bit over $500, not sure if that makes any difference.

      • Seems like the ones who spend theirs in Oct haven't received the cashback.. It's almost 60 days.. Sigh

        • I spent over $500 in October too and still haven't received cashback.

        • @ubor: same boat guys, any news?

        • Oct 20 spender (Wifey). Still no cashback. :(

        • @Yeliboy: Just called in to send a manual request, i suggest you do the same, since its past 60 days

        • @nevercompensate:
I've found both their phone and email support to be quite unhelpful - They say that the cashback is made after two statement periods. In my case, it has already been 2 statement periods and still no cashback, but that fact seems to be lost on them.

        • @jabba100:

They told me to wait 2 more weeks then call back because it's 60 business days, apparently.

        • +1

Gave CBA a call, apparently my cashback has been credited. I spent the $500 in October too, so I'd suggest those in the same position should perhaps give CBA a call to hurry the process up.

        • @nevercompensate: Called them on 29/12/16, got the cash back today.

        • @ubor: yeah same here, thanksfor the update!

        • @jabba100:
After their excuses I received my cashback a couple of days ago.

  • Just be careful with this one. I applied, sent all the asked for documentation, accepted and received the card. Then they freeze all my accounts wanting further documents brought in a branch, along with a letter from my employer which would be difficult as they do not do this sort of thing. Told several times, 'too bad I must have this documentation.' Even cancelling the Card outright would not permit my other accounts to be reinstated. It was only when I spoke to a Supervisor that a solution was found and nothing further for me to do.

  • I got my $250 cashback awhile back. no issues - yay!

Will probably only cancel it in a few months time, give it plenty of time anyway incase they need to revoke it. I'll pay it off and leave it.

I can't find anything in the cba netbank app for viewing statements though, despite it saying it does - which is a pain :(

  • I set up autopayment for this, paid the remaining balance after the $250 cashback (balance was 0 last time I check), and the autopayment still paid another $250 at the end of billing cycle :/

now my account is positive, crap

    • Use desktop not mobile

    • You can call up and have them xfer the positive balance to your Everyday Account and it won't count as a cash advance.

  • Been 65 days since ive soent 500 dollars and no cash back yet? Is anyone in the same boat?

  • yiha got my 250 bucks! Nice token from that greedy lot! Does anybody know when the annual fee gets collected?

    • On the anniversary of the credit card

  • So glad I come across this yesterday!

Got the conditional approval for the Gold Card…

About to book a trip shortly so i'll book with the card which will give me the travel insurance.

Essentially ending up +$500 for this deal seeing I don't have to fork out for TI :-)

    • +1

Just FYI, you don't need to pay for your trip with the card in order to qualify for travel insurance, you just need to register your trip with them and obtain a policy number.

See here for more info (scroll down the page, until you see the heading "How it works", the info you need is under there).

I can vouch for this, as I used this for free travel insurance on my family holiday in November last year.

Thanks mate this is great to know as I waiting on the card to turn up and I need to pay today :)

        Thanks mate.

  • Got mine today, but took almost 45 days for cashback to reflect into account.

  • My last spend was late Oct 16. Called up CBA today, and they said that about 500 accounts had their $250's delayed. And if you were one of those, the credit will be coming by this time next week… that's what she said…

  • my turnaruond time from application approved to receiving the $250 was super swift

    Purchase made on 31/12
    received cashback today 13/01

  • -1

Turns out I went for the Low Rate card instead of the Low Rate Gold card, and I was just looking at the free travel insurance and my card doesn't have it! So that sucks, anyway to upgrade my card / get free travel insurance from CBA without applying for another premium card with annual fees?

  • Anyone else having trouble with the online application form? I get to the part where I review my details and click 'I agree' but then it just loops back to the very start. Tried Chrome, Safari and even IE11. A decline I can take but this is just frustrating.

    • +1

Yep they have a glitch with their online system. You have to go in store and complete the application.

  • Just an update for everyone's info…

Made my purchase of $501 on 23/1/2017 and received cashback yesterday (2/2/2017)

Super happy with how it all went down and the free travel insurance :-D
