10% off Custom Computer Systems + Free Shipping + $50 Gift Card (EOFY Sale) - Ibuypower.com.au

50

ibuypower.com.au currently have a %10 off sale. You also get a $50 'www.game.com.au' gift voucher and they have free shipping as well. I compared this to other online sites and it always came out cheaper.

I put a quick custom gaming order together and compared to one built by MSY. MSY was $32 cheaper, but didn't include shipping and a 3 year RTB warranty which the 'ibuypower one does.

So for anyone looking at getting a new box who doesn't live close to an MSY store, this sounds like a good option.

The test order I did was:
Coolermaster CM 690
550w PSU
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz 8Mb Cache Quad Core 4 Cores/4 Threads
Gigabyte P55A-UD3P Motherboard
4Gb (2x2Gb) 1333Mhz DDR3
ATI HD5850 1Gb DX11
Western Digital WD10EARS 1Tb (1000Gb) 64Mb Cache Caviar Green
BenQ DW240S Dual Layer 24x DVD+-RW
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
3 year warranty
$50 gift card

=$1643 - %10
=$1478.70 delivered

  • sounds like an ad

    • It is.
I don't work for them if that's what you mean??
I've been looking for a built system for a while, these guys had some good offers but the extra %10 off seemed to push them into the "bargain" area

  • I'm interested what stores you compared it with, I just got $1329.50 from Umart, making it less than $1400 including shipping nation wide (quite a bit less if you're not in a remote part):

Coolermaster RC-690-KKN1 690 Case with Black mesh design with no psu $112.00 $10.18 $112.00
    CoolerMaster 550W Extreme Power Plus (ATX) $75.00 $6.82 $75.00
    Intel Core i5 750 Processor LGA1156 2.66GHz 8MB Cache CPU $249.00 $22.64 $249.00
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM $113.00 $10.27 $113.00
    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P Intel P55, DDR3 2000/PCIE/RAID,/GbE LAN $199.00 $18.09 $199.00
    BenQ DW240S 24X DVD+-RW $27.50 $2.50 $27.50
    Western Digital 1TB Green 64MB SATAII WD10EARS $87.00 $7.91 $87.00
    Team 4G(2x2G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800 CL9 LV $128.00 $11.64 $128.00
    PowerColor HD5850,1GB,GDDR5,PCIE2.1,2xDVI,HDMI $339.00 $30.82 $339.00
    Total $120.86 $1329.50

    • Just online stores like nirv and netplus, the ones google came up with. Never heard of Umart, I'm in Adelaide.

I just used their online order custom config and it gave me $1514 ( but I couldn't find the PSU you used on the list so I went for the Antec 550 bp) but your $1329 sounds excellent (I guess that includes being built).
      The only difference is:
      postage to SA??
      3 year warranty
      $50 gift card.

I couldn't find the postage area on Umart. But I guess around $80? Plus warranty another $84 (although that is for onsite) and add $50 to make it fair, comes to $1543 compared to $1478.
I'm sure some systems will work out differently depending on parts prices, guess it's up to the buyer to make sure they shop around.

Maybe I should update description "So for anyone looking at getting a new box who doesn’t live close to an MSY store, or a Umart" :)

  • The deal is meh.

I guess it would appeal to those that like to tweak a system, but don't want to get their hands dirty.
Most people that know what they want in a desktop anyway, probably can build it themselves.

I know I'm getting lazy now-a-days, so it probably appeals to me.

If it was a difference of less than $50 from getting from a local store, then I'd definitely jump on this.

  • Since Adelaide only has a few stores to shop, this deal may be considerable. But ibuypower.com.au doesn't make any senses to ppl who love building pc like me because this store is just like Adelaide, only has a few parts to pick and almost of them are at entry lvl.
