Xiaomi Mi Band 2 $24.99 US

    Wow! Nice price!

    • +1

      Yep. Currently the cheapest available.

      • the gearbest xiaomi mi band 2 is $24.89 US

which would fellow ozbargainers prefer between Geekbuying & Gearbest?

        • +2

Combine with Cashrewards and it's $24.20.

They lowered their price after my post ;)

        • +2

@Clear: ok finally caved in after seeing so many of these mi band 2 deals..

guess i'll see it in a month when it arrives

        • -1

Prefer both. Never had issues with either.

        • I prefer Gearbest, read my comment below. Didn't have as many issues with them.

        • @san_narula:

Gearbest has tried scamming people in the past ( Including myself )
And there Domain registration was also used for 4 other sites confirmed to run scams.

        • @Beerforkids: That's interesting to know. I am curious to find out what type of scams and which other sites?

        • @san_narula: You'll find that many sites operate under 1 company. GearBest have over 40 stores/brands.

Thinking of purchasing the Mi Band 2 for my upcoming holiday.
Has anyone purchased from here before and can give an ETA for an item in stock?
I leave in 32 days and I'm thinking that the 15-30 day delivery might be cutting it too fine. Thanks.

    • +4

Average is 3-4 weeks. You'd be pushing it very thin.

      • +2

Thought as much, thanks for the quick reply.

    • +2

should be ok, but i wouldnt bet my life on it. most china stuff arrives for me around 1 month

    • Bought mine from gearbest paid the 10usd extra for express came under a week before my hunting trip I was happy… For the sake of 10 bux just do it…

    • I was short on time as well. Ended up ordering via [Lightinthebox] (http://www.lightinthebox.com/smart-bracelet-long-standby-wat…)

Same price with Expedited shipping. Used coupon code S5064470NEW. Not sure about their reputation but they accept Paypal so will lodge a claim if any issues

      • Came up USD$26.27 = AUD$34.698 + additional PayPal conversion charge. It's not really the same price.

        • +1

You need to remove the insurances. It is USD$24.99 after removing the insurances

        • @Arsi: K, thanks :)

      • It wasn't really the same price, I think I paid 37 AUD. But its just a couple of bucks. Nevertheless, I ordered too mate. Thanks for posting.

      • What does your order status say ? Mine is still processing even after 4 days - and there is no customer care to inquire about this :(

        • Mine is the same. It said 2-5 business days for processing

        • @Arsi: Whats the go now ? When I contacted their fb support they said they will ship it before the 21st - they still haven't :(

        • @AussieB:

I got a part shipment yesterday, and I was just told that the rest will ship next week… which is late, but hopefully true.

Also told that when you select DHL as the shipping it only covers some parts of the order, in my case the phone, and the rest of the order is sent Airmail regardless of what shipping you pick… seems a bit dodgy that as this is not made clear on the order form at all. When I selected DHL for my order I had assumed they would send the whole thing by DHL not select bits of it…

        • Mine was just shipped.

        • +1

@Pobman: The order status on their site says mine was shipped on 22nd. The tracking website says they received the package on 25th. This seems dodgy as. When I asked them for the time of shipment they said it takes more than 9 days. When I pointed that their website says 'express postage free' they said 'we changed calling it from postage to express postage the time taken is same ' ?!?!?!?! WTF ! I just hope to get my stuff in the next 2/3/4/5/6 weeks. Never ordering from this site again.

        • +1

          @AussieB:

Got an email overnight that the rest of my order went by DHL, so 8-9 business days to ship… so I should have the phone this week or next… and then the case and screen protector which went regular post in 2-3 weeks … :(

Not going to order anything 'major' from them again, I only saved a couple of dollars over going with somebody who would have shipped in 1-2 days and shipped the whole order by DHL not in several bits. It was not worth the couple of $ savings in this particular case.

        • @AussieB: Actually same.. it was another 2 days before DHL even got the package.

        • @Pobman: Did you ever end up receiving stuff ? I haven't. Its been over a month. I just repent giving my business to these idiots. ?!?!?!?

        • @AussieB:

Yes once DHL actually got it the process was quite quick, actually came AusPost once it got to Australia… however the other stuff which they sent by regular post, despite my selecting DHL for it all, still has not arrived.

        • @Pobman: You are lucky. I finally reported this to paypal and they wont do anything till 5th of December. As of today, the value of the freaking band is not what I had paid for !

  • +4

Could you negotiate a good deal on a RedMi or Note 3 phone with international ROM and band 28?

  • +2

Thanks boss. Was on the fence about getting one of these fitness trackers, but at this price might as well take it for a whirl.

  • Anyone have any idea if the Mi Max does:

    • Dual 4G/3G (i.e. second SIM can't be 2G-only)
    • LTE cat6 (300Mbps down)
    • +1

      Dual SIM use:
When two SIM cards are used simultaneously, the primary SIM can support 4G calls and data while the secondary SIM can support 3G calls oniy.

      According to Xiaomi here.

I've been able to find mention of cat7 support on some sites, but I'd have to confirm it with Xiaomi/Geekbuying.

      • +1

Cool, it's nice to see dual 4G/3G becoming more common, with 2G slowly being shut down.

The Snapdragon 650 can do cat7, but it'd be nice to have confirmation that the phone supports it too (not always the case, something to do with antennae). Even better if you can confirm it can do at least cat6 on one, when two SIMs are connected.

  • Bought a Mii band several hours ago, thankfully it was already that price! Cheers for the discount anyway!

  • What is the difference between chinese and global version referring in this webpage

    http://promotion.geekbuying.com/promotion/xiaomi_mi_band_glo…

    • +3

The packaging and manual are in English and CE certification (for Europe). Physically it's the same and will function the same.

      • Thanks

  • +2

I'd better add the obligatory panic stricken post about Xiaomi phones having no band 28…

    • Thanks mate. No need to hype it (either way that is). It helps fellow OzBargainers :)

  • Hi mate! Does Xiaomi Mi Max support native video calling function? Say when you entered 012345678.. it's give you option to text, voice calls or video calling like ss galaxy s2-3456?

  • +1

how about Redmi note 4 (grey colour on global rom with case and tempered glass)
any package deal on this please?

    • I'll see what Geekbuying can do.

      • Thanks mate!

  • Is there a difference between redmi 3s and redmi 3s prime? Seems like specs are same.

    • No difference. This one just has the Global ROM loaded with Google Play etc.

      • Nope. 3S Prime has fingerprint sensor and the extra GB of RAM.

        • Yes and no. The Redmi 3S Pro/Prime and [HK Stock][Official International Version] XIAOMI Redmi 3S in this post are the same.

        • @Clear:

I'm worried about dual SIM if one can only work on 2G network. Telstra and Optus will soon stop providing 2G. Do you know if both Sims can work above 3G?

        • @Clear: ah ok nice nice soz my bad. Tempted to pull the trigger on this purchase !

        • +1

@adrianhughes1998: You can wait a while and decide until GeekBuying set the price back.

        • @duchong: The second sim card slot is the nano-sim one, which is what I have, and I can get 4G and 3G in the second slot, so shouldn't be a problem.

Doing some googling says that they both support 4G:

          http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/158475/which-one-…

    • 3S Prime has 3GB of RAM vs 2GB in the 3S, and the 3S Prime has a fingerprint sensor. Absolutely worth getting the Prime IMO - I just received mine and the fingerprint sensor is amazingly quick.

  • RE Mi Band 2
Can you configure the LED lights to change colour based on specific events? eg. phone call = red, message = green, email = blue etc?

    • Mi Band 2 has OLED display (not LEDs); it is white in color, and I do not think that it can be configured to change its color.

    • +1

The Mi Band 2 has a set of 13 standard icons it can display + one generic 'app' icon.

      See here: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/8952/43169/screenshot_…

More might be added in a future firmware update but don't count on it.

  • +1

I'm not seeing the US$139.99 for the Redmi 3S, showing as US$146.99 for me…
    Is that one over?

    • I'll get it fixed.

    • Now fixed. Thank you.

  • How good is the heart rate monitor on the Mi Band? And how does it work?

    • +1

Pretty inconsistent works less worse than one on 1s tbh. Unless you are dead still it's way off the mark.

I didn't buy the Mi Band 2 for that anyways so don't let it dissuade you from a purchase. It's still very cheap and an absolute steal for what u get.

  • Does anybody use the Mi Max as their primary phone? How big a nuisance is it fitting in pockets & feeling uncomfortable? I use my phone primarily for reading and not calling people, so the screen size will be great.

  • OZB stop tempting me. My original mi band is still going strong (1 year old).
    Must resist pulling the trigger!!!

    • Lucky! Mine died after maybe half a year!

    • Mine fell out of its band 😥

  • +2

Have to neg so that other people are aware of the issues dealing with the seller.

They send wrong item and then refuse to accept it.
Take very long to post even if they have mentioned the item is in stock.
Have an item on presale and then keep extending the delivery date once ordered.
Take forever to respond to emails even if they bother.
    and so on.

  • I received an email from banggood and the same phone is 136$.

    • Gold is always cheaper and that isn't the International Edition. It's $134.99 at Geekbuying

  • Any chance of getting a deal on the Gray 2GB 16GB Redmi Note 3 International Version? Being a bit selfish here but i was hoping to get a Redmi 3S for my mum and a Note 3 for my dad and would love to get a deal for both.

  • Thanks Mate. Just got the Xiaomi Mi Max. Used my Coles Master Card so may incur a small FT fee.

But used cashrewards and the coupon. My current One PLUS One is more like One MINUS One after 3 years so hopefully the MiMax will last a couple of years.

  • Kind of regret buying here now, still not shipped the phone after more than a week (yes within their quoted time for another day) and what they have shipped from the order was sent airmail rather than the DHL I paid for… so who knwws when it's all going to show up. Should have paid a couple of dollars more and gone with Vickmall again.

  • Order since Oct 14, and it still says its processing the payment.. yet i already received a paypal receipt..
    Clear! can you fix this?

    • PM me your order number. It'll likely be shipped on Monday.

      • just did..

      • Mine has not shipped yet either. It says payment confirmed. Order number is 3799597

        • Thanks. I've sent them a message.

        • @Clear:

I ordered and paid on the 14th of Oct and it still hasn't been shipped either, any chance you could check on mine?

          Order #3799669.

          Thanks.

        • @Clear:

Hi mine still hasn't shipped also. Purchased 14th of Oct. Order number 3800350

          Thanks

        • @Advv: Purchased on 14th and just shipped. I didn't go for the DHL option, hopefully it doesn't take 15-30 days.

        • @slickg:

Yep got the email stating it has been shipped too. Pretty slow

        • @MrFunSocks: Got the email saying it has been shipped a few hours after I posted this last comment so thanks for following up. Tracking it shows it's still being processed in Hong Kong though, so these guys seem to be just telling porkie pies in regards to their shipping/delivery times. Now been 2.5 weeks for something that was supposed to be on my door in like 3-4 working days, and if it's still in Hong Kong it probably won't even arrive this week. Won't be buying from GeekBuying again.

        • @MrFunSocks: Nothing arrives in 3-4 working days. Free shipping can be up to 30 business days and TNT/EMS/DHL can be 3-7 days after processing.

  • Jeez. My order finally shipped. 11 days just for the miband 2 :/

    • Lucky… I was told my order from the 13th would ship Monday by DHL, it was packed already on Saturday…. now that's changed to it will ship this week… :(

  • Got the Mi Band 2.

    Ordered 14 Oct 2016 (Fri)
    Shipped 25 Oct 2016 (Tue)
    Received 7 Nov 2016 (Mon)
