  • Good price on the transformer. A comparable cheap chinese tablet will have higher resolution and more ram and will only cost around 250. But I don't think the gamble is worth it.

  • T100HA, Shame about the resolution and ram but.

Apparently has ghost touch issues too.

    • T100HA. Bought one and sold it immediately. I dont have high expectation due to the price but please, i need something that smooth at least in web browsing. Not recommmended

  • is the gaming unit a bargain?

    • +1

      I believe so :) Here are some other retailers selling the similar model however with lower specs;

Major difference being the RAM and HDD between this and the competitors :)

  • For the laptop.

Do we need to worry about 4th gen cpu as we are at the 7th now or we wont notice the difference?

Im in the market for "light" gaming laptop

    • Im still gaming on a 3rd gen i7 but for desktop. And it seems fine for most 1080P resolution games.

      • Fourth generation, on a 880M, 32GB Ram. My 2 year old rig is still better then this.

    • Yeap should be good enough but dont expect very high setting. You should concern more regarding the GTX 960M instead of the processor.

Performance gains from second and third gen right up to 6th gen are small.
Most difference is in better power usage.
If using the intel GPU and interested in light - moderate gaming then i7 is the go.
An i3 or i5 with dedicated AMD/Nvidia graphics will be better though.

::edit:: not sure about 7th gen, haven't taken a good look performance/economy yet

  • If you can get the Enterprise SKU on to the T100 it runs smoothly. Though it has issues with mSDXC above 32GB.

If anyone gets it, uninstall the Intel software. It'll leave you with without ISA and the SD card reader will thank you for it.

Disable Asus Web storage and drop box and one drive.
