Intel Core m5 6Y57
8GB RAM, 128GB SSD

Seems to have good review from notebookcheck.net (but the reviewed model is m7-6y75, 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD)

I searched staticice.com.au and found that all other Elitebook 1030 G1 are over $2,000. But those over $2,000 have either 16GB of RAM or bigger SSD or better CPU. Funny thing is that screen for the $999 is QHD but those over $2,000 are all FHD.

Is any HP product worth $1000?

  • One of the worst manufacturers combined with one of the worst shops. A winning combination

The Elitebook series is HP's flagship business laptop product line… if a HP rep read your comment now they'd be in tears

Anyhow I doubt anyone on Ozbargain needs a 13.3" QHD notebook, whose screen doesn't fold all the way back into tablet mode. The upside though, is as a business user this has backlit keyboard, supports a dock, and by default has a 3 year HP warranty if you bought direct from HP (that is inclusive of the battery!)

The Thinkpad 13 is more suitable for students and such.

The combination of QHD, Touch, and a Core M5 is pretty exotic. Normally I'd expect to see a QHD screen on beefier models with a Core i-series processor.

      • Nope, just one year warranty

        • Only if bought from HP. My second hand Elitebook laptop just had it's warranty expired — it was a 2014 model.

        • @scrimshaw:

Not that the warranty is cheap. Same configuration with 8GB Ram from HP is $1533.80

He is right, HP has shxty quality

        • And their "support" is awful at best and downright incompetent at worst.
