Ideapad 700 is great price, only downside is the battery is ' up to 4 hours'.

    • +1

Well it is running an i7-6700HQ which is pretty high end stuff

Please give me a review / an ideas which one is most valuable between the ideapad 700 or ASUS G771JW both at same price. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/270521

The cpu gain maybe minimal for Lenovo but the gpu is much better in Asus … Never had both, giving my 2 cents based on specs

      • +2

brand prefer lenovo, specs prefer asus

If you could, maybe try importing a Dell inspiron 15 7559 from America? It's great specs and a trust worthy brand. https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-2512BLK-Generatio…

Of course, you might need to get shipito to send it to you

Anybody aware of any way to get a discount on extended warranty? I'm planning on getting a 5yr onsite upgrade but Lenovo's prices are stupidly high (student discount saves a tiny bit)

Not a bad deal on the amazing x1 yoga.
Needless to say, the $50 extra for 8GB of ram and $99 for an additional 128GB of ssd storage is a no brainer.

I would have liked a screen upgrade option to 2560x1440.

How much free spy ware do we get with these?

    • I think these deals come with 4 spy wares (usually only get two)

    • It's normally a good idea to install a fresh copy of windows to get rid of all the extra crapware and bloat installed on laptops. A bit of a shame really.

Are the delivery dates fairly accurate?

I have the last gen x1 carbon. Easily the best ultra book out there. The only down side is the price

    • I agree the carbon is one of the best ultrabooks out there. I got the i5 version with 1440p, no 4g for around $1700 ~

      • I got the same! i7 is not much faster than i5. 1440p is nice but I might go for the 1080p next time because of the poor scaling of windows.

Can someone please tell me how long does it take before I receive the laptop if I am to buy from Lenovo's website?

  • Is this ideapad 700 already a great price? Is it possible to wait for Christmas etc. for a better price?

And does anyone know how well does this ideapad 700 go with ubuntu 16.04?

    1. Dont forget about cashrewards, lenovo gives 7.5% cashback!
    2. Would any one suggest i7-16gb carbon x1 version? Ends up as $2139.00 - Cashrewards….
  • +1

Lenovo is on cashrewards, it will take another $97.42 off the price so you should be able to get this for $1201.58
Roughly $1199 sounds better though :)

That is an absolute bargain for this i7 ideapad. The GPU is only 2gb but for anyone that wants some light gaming and an awesome multimedia/ demanding programming/speed then this thing is legit.

  • Bought the Ideapad 700 last night.
The site says "Ships within 3-4 weeks"
Just received shipping confirmation, it was dispatched from NSW, "Expected to Arrive October 20, 2016"

    • Arrived today (19th).
      So bought Sunday, arrived Wednesday.
First impression: it boots up really fast! I wonder what sorcery they are using to get the boot times that quick (and yes, I have seen an SSD before).

anyone experiencing delay for the x1 yoga? Mind hasn't been shipped yet, only 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, rest are default. Ordered on the 17th.

    • Perhaps give them a call. My one with only ram upgraded has shipped.

      • Cheers, I did but they didn't call me back as promised. My extra pen and sleeve are expected to be delivered tomorrow but no news about the laptop yet. Isn't 128GB too small? I'm hoping to increase the storage by chucking in the 128GB microSD I got from the $40 deal not long ago.
