Got ebgame promotion email yesterday, there is a unique code in email and can use it to get discount on Sony online
Check your email with ebgames, not sure if you can call and ask ebgame customer service to get one but worth to try.

Most media review for X8000D is positive and it's made in Japan.

Bought a 49'' myself and works smoothly. Combined with cash back 2.5% and first time free shipping, great save!

Update: I'm level 3 member in ebgames, but didn't order PS4 PRO from them, I bought several PS4 VR and may be that helps. In promotion email it says 'offer to select EBgame member' so it's a target offer, ask friend of yours with ebgame member.       This is a good deal, I need something around 70" though if I'm going to upgrade on my current gaming screen.

          Really, there's not much point having 4K on a TV only 40 inches unless you sit pretty damn close.

          (Or, like so many people, you don't actually even know what 4K means but are just trying to keep up with the Joneses).

          @mgowen: That's not going to be great for gaming as well though. Considering having screen that I can pull down over the TV for a projector but first purchase will be a 4K I think.

          Why are you getting a 4K for gaming? Do you have a PC with a GTX 1080 or two?

          Personally I'd prefer a good 1080p projector at 100" to a 70" 4K TV for games (even if the projector wasn't several grand cheaper, which it is).

          No reason projectors would be laggier than a TV. (Since it depends on the picture processing, not the display tech. Light travels pretty fast).

          The popular $950 BenQ W1070 has 0-40ms input lag:

          Which is lower than the amount at which gamers start to notice it (about 60ms), certainly not significant in light of what consoles tend to add on their own:

          The new consoles will output 4K signals, but don't get fooled by the marketing. They won't manage visually intensive AAA games at 4K/30FPS (the only games where you'd actually care about going to 4K).

          @mgowen: actually The Last Of Us is considered visually impressive and is locked at 30fps at 4k. You should Google the list that's out there right now, only 13 so far are native but they are all 30-60fps.

          Thanks for the info on the projector though, I'll consider that for movies for sure.

        70-75" is more of a living room tv. if u call it a media room, get a projector or > 100" TV based on media room size. You will love the experience.

    Fantastic value, but as mentioned you'll only be able to take advantage of this offer if you pre-order the PS4Pro from EB, or can get a code off someone who has.

    The 8000D is not bad for 4K gaming. However, HDR content would look mediocre as the TV only has peak brightness of around 375 nits, although it is a 10 bit panel. 1000 nits and a 10 bit panel is the HDR minimum.

    Input lag is not too bad at just over 33ms, even when HDR is enabled (Game Mode).

      The TV's for the year generally become available in stores from May/June/July. The might get announced at CES but we don't see them for a long time. The TV's out there now are definitely 'current'.

        Sorry mate, I'll be using mine, funny enough you can order as many TVs as you like in the single order with the code and you'll get the discount i.e 50 tvs = 50k as oppose to 99k+/-

        i've heard terrible things about their delivery methods though argh this is a dilemma

          @Anubis: It's with DHL Supply Chain and DHL Supply Chain is crap.
          Their tracking is in Flash player so it's slow and crap. It also doesn't update to tell you pretty much anything which is even more crap.
