HTC 10 (Grey) 32GB - $899 (Save $100) [Australian Stock] @ JB HI-FI

160

Hey everyone,

I've been monitoring the HTC 10 prices since release and this is the cheapest in Australian stock I believe.

This includes both grey and silver handsets.

It's been cut down by $100!

I'm not sure if I should get it myself, but it's a damn good phone.

Just wanted to share with everyone!

Get it off their eBay store and for $6.80 extra you can get a $100 eBay voucher :)

I was thinking about that, but I don't know what to spend with the $100 as there's nothing else I really want haha

Case for the phone, wireless speaker, Chromecast or more eneloops? The options are endless on eBay :)

    • Silver only, other colours $919.

    • I've been mainly looking at the grey handset (Where it's a tad more expensive), but thanks for that!

I just couldn't Justify Spending more money on htc than Samsung.

hardware feature wise i understand… UI wise sammy is not even close to sense UI .. actually very few android UI's are so depends on what is more important to the user.. build quality is quite high on both ..:)

      • -1

Well, I agree you on that. And the DAC is actually more important for me. I also prefer cleaner UI. However, water-prove, wireless charging, battery, 2nd to none camera (I don't believe DxoMark, I believe my eyes), etc. all that, I don't think HTC 10 should be more expensive than s7

      • Touchwiz UI is better than Sense UI, though. Sense UI on Sensation series were better than the current one which is pretty much blend.

    • -3

Yeah, I like my phones to have the added feature of being able to turn into a bomb too.

There will always be reasons why one phone is better than another but for me, I think HTC takes the cake with a built in DAC and Sense UI, it's by far the best Android experience I've ever had.

ask jbhifi staff for price match, if they dunt wanna do that for you, they will tell u out of stock str8away,TRICKY

    • ok m8,THANKS

  • Sense UI and HTC "built quality" are overrated memes that will never go away regardless the actual quality of the HTC phones. HTC has been a poster child of anti-Samsung Android users and that "non-Samsung" title has been their major selling point. Problem is that now It seems like Google has successfully stolen that title from HTC with 6P.

HTC 10 is a decent phone, but is the phone worth nearly $150 more than S7 or even $400 more than LG G5 or any Chinese flagship? Probably not. By the way, rooting your HTC will void your warranty just like every other manufacturer's warranty policy so you shouldn't buy this if you are planning to "play" with it.

    • Isn't there a way to return to stock, relocking the bootloader etc if and when a warranty claim needs to be made? I know HTC doesn't have something like Knox.

    • Is the nexus line still continuing now that the pixel phones are out?

      • No I believe that are end-of-life now.

    • With my HTC, I rooted it . Once I needed to claim warranted, I just unrooted it and relocked the device. No problems with warranty claim. (From Harvey Norman)

    • Where is the S7 $150 cheaper than the HTC 10? Certainly not JB. The S7 is $1149 and the HTC is $899

My understanding is the unlocking the HTC 10 bootloader does not void your warranty

      • It is on the first page of Ozbargain. S7 is on sale for $766 @ Mobileciti and HTC 10 is also on sales for $899~919. So the difference is about $150. They are both local stocks.

Unlocking a bootloader and flashing a new rom are two different things. LG also allows users to unlock the bootloader on G5, but that DOES NOT mean you can install a new custom rom on your mobile. Your (software) warranty will be voided.

    • you are right, overpriced, but i have to say SAMSUNG is another word of same-shxt+ super terrible warranty claim team

  • +1

I don't see why the HTC 10 is so stubbornly overpriced…

As others have said, I'd rather get a local stock s7 for 150 less, and gain water resistance too.

    • Yeah, I'm a big fan of the HTC 10 but it was just priced way too highly. Grey imports aren't even that much cheaper too.

But I've had a bad experience with TouchWiz and not to mention all the bloat that comes along.

Would be pretty silly not to spend a little extra to get the pixel…..

  • Has anyone got this phone? If so, how is the battery and camera?
