Not negging but wouldn't recommend anyone buys this - spend the extra buck for the Complete Edition. Given the new updates and changes to Light Levels etc you can't do much with just this expansion, you'd regret not getting Rise of Iron. Complete Ed. was $57 del. from Ozgameshop not long ago

    • Thanks for the comment -
As you can tell, I am not a Destiny player so don't know how many expansions are coming up. I know Rise of Iron is coming, but still you can get Rise of Iron on top of that (but probably might cost a bit more?).
It was for me a good way to try Destiny and see if I like it or not, seeing all the different feedback I've had from friends and online.

      • ROI was released on the 20th of last month. I agree with Jobs, get the complete edition.

      • It's $34.48 from OzGameShop including postgae.

If you wanted to try out Destiny, you could have just downloaded the free playable Demo from PSN. It lets you play up until level 7.

Destiny The Collection which includes everything including Rise of Iron is $59 +post from The Gamesmen.

    • Yup, given past performance I'd be genuinely concerned about them crippling non-ROI owners retrospectively…

Word of warning - The expansions are not included on the disc (as the disc only contains the regular version of the game).

Instead, they're on one code - meaning you'll need to pay attention to see the slips inserted into the case (when buying in-store). Also, don't buy this second-hand as the code's most likely been redeemed by then.

  • game has a very bad rep on reviews as when they released expansions they took away parts from the existing game.
so areas you had bought and used were no longer accessable unless u paid more forthe expansions.
    poor form.
i wont support a company like this.

    • Precisely what happened. I agree 110%…not adding further content is understandable, but actively taking away key features that users already had was extremely poor indeed.

Bear in mind though, you'll get strenuous opposition from some clueless adolescents on OzB who think that simply because they were stupid enough to pay the ransom, that the behaviour was acceptable business practice.

  • I bought second hand the original destiny to 'try' as I missed the destiny boat when it came out and had rooms full of friends playing.

Just wondering for Destiny players if it is useless just having the original game - since you can't play with anyone in expansions right? Kind of like the old starcraft players couldn't play with Brood wars players thing?

The only issue is is there still a decent core following of Destiny players to play multiplayer with? The games are going for cheaper and cheaper these days so I assume the multiplayer players are dying down?
