That is the Note 7 that have burning issues.

        • +3

No, it's been out for 8 months. If it had problems they would have emerged by now the same manner they did with the Note 7. Try again.

        • @daitro: Try what? Just posting a news story that happened to come out yesterday. I don't have a position one way or the other which is why I said maybe.

    • +12

These jokes were funny the week it happened… move on.

      • What Joke? I actually thought it was decent price and I've had a quick look at a S7 Edge and it looks fantastic.
(And yes I thought the report of one catching fire was fake or was missing information)

  • -1

    Still expensive.

    • +10

It's a premium product, no question about it.

    • +1

      You're just poor.

      • -1

Compared to the previous price during the Ebay Deals, this is much more expensive.

        • No, it isn't.

Show me the cheapest S7 edge in a past deal.

  • the price keep going up!

why there is (exynos cpu) in the title is there a S7 edge with different cpu?

  • +14

I'm all for roasting Samsung for the Note 7 but this is the Galaxy Edge S7. Please get the phone right

  • bought one on gumtree plus defender case $400 today !

    • new? scared of buying off gumtree, what was your experience like.

      • Bought 2 s7's from gumtree now one was in box with wrappers still on it for $550 and bought one tonight for $400 with a defender case on it.
I have 0bought all my phones from gumtree previous phones i bought were brand new htc m7 for $350 when they were $900 then sold it for $300 and bought a m8 for $400.

        • Do you know how to spot legit ones, from scams? Also were your one's new?

        • @SimpleRoger: ask questions and ask for lowest price have a look at phone before buying make sure its not locked to an account. just tap google play. check the phone information to see what software its running

      • got a phone that had couldn't connect to mobile internet for not cheap. learnt the biggest lesson check the phone clearly before leaving. - but can't check without a sim

        • probably could fix it by going into the access points and add your networks APN my phones didnt have mms untill i added the networks mms apn

        • @mp3police: couldn't make phone calls too

        • @tradiesunited: i had this problem with m8 i had to go to mobile networks and manually select telstra network as it selected something else

        • @tradiesunited: might have been networked locked

GS7 Edge exploding news seems genuine. Samsung fanboys will still neg this.

    https://www.google.com.au/search?tbm=nws&q=Galaxy+S7+Edge

    • +1

1 case in 8 months is genuine? Read all the articles…notice they say a user 'claims' their phone blew up while charging, hardly solid evidence. Curious, what phone do you use?

    • +1

Better not buy an iphone either…

      http://bgr.com/2016/10/04/iphone-6s-battery-explosion-fire/

(Citing limited examples of these issues does not mean its a systemic problem with a model though eh!)

  • Local stock? If not cheaper last time.

  • I am hesitate to buy after the Note 7 incidents.

  • +5

Just read the note 7 return thread on whirlpool, Samsungs own service is a nightmare in Australia without buying from a grey importer, get real people you are just asking for trouble.

  • +12

I feel surprised by 'still costly' and 'hot/fire/burn' replies on every S7 Edge post. Looks some people haven't even held/seen/read about this phone at all and just jump in with some illogical banter. For one, it's not Note 7 and secondly it's one of the most well rated and premium phones in market. So we should stop expecting it to sell around $300-$400 mark. You'll rarely get S5/S6 at that price mark, forget S7 Edge. Having used several smartphones and using this device since it's launch I can safely say it's one of most impressive and all round device I've seen/used/heard of. Peace!

    • Ok so news of S7 Edge burning all over must be wrong ?
      https://news.google.com/news/story?ncl=drBIpWgEtThnK_MBNbQzw…

      • +3

Just claims. No evidence. If you believe every story you read then the iPhone 7 is worse with more cases reported, and it is a much newer phone.

      • Lynnette Luna, a principal analyst with Current Analysis, believes that the timing of these reports are somewhat suspect. "It’s difficult to believe there is a widespread problem with the S7 given the fact that it has been out for more than six months, and we are just hearing now, after the Note 7 recall, that there are S7 devices catching fire," said Luna.

      Illogical banter.

Seems very logical to me as these phones are made by Samsung. Their behavour and treatment of their own customers is 100% relevant. They have plenty of form, we must be up to nearly 200 house fires caused by their dangerous washing machines, attempting to hide the problem, then releasing a dodge fix that still caused their customer's houses to burn down!

Have a look at what Samsung's lawyers sent a week before they recalled the "fixed" phones… would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
      https://m.facebook.com/choiceaustralia/photos/a.101501412673…

From their lawyers: "under no circumstances will Samsung be providing replacement devices it considers would be unsafe"

      Samsung are a disgrace.

      • +1

Look I'm neither a Samsung spokesperson nor (blindly support everything) fanboy. I just replied in context of unjust criticism of S7 Edge. Note 7 is the only Samsung mobile with widespread problems (Note: stray instances have been reported for several phones from many manufacturers inc. Apple) and any neutral observer would agree that they made unprecedented efforts to sort this specific issue (one of biggest recalls/full refund/replacement), but due to whatever reasons they screwed up again and had to halt the production altogether.
Your bold highlighted comment shows nothing but their intent/self-belief (and maybe ego) at the time (which I agree looks funny now, as the replacement didn't pan out as claimed). But nevertheless, S7 Edge in itself is an awesome device and any no. arguments won't change that. Peace!

      • WOW, i have read a lot of comments from people how they have been treated but never seen that. Samsung should be sent packing.

  • +6

    They're having a fire sale

Anyone know if VoLTE should work with these phones on Optus/Telstra?

    • +2

Optus - "The following Samsung devices when purchased from Optus on a postpaid plan are supported by the Optus VoLTE service"…S7 Edge…etc.

As for Telstra, according to the whirlpool page here, "On Android, VoLTE requires Telstra firmware. It is not available on 'generic' or firmware branded by other carriers."

So don't think this phone would be compatible. You might be able to get it working by flashing a Telstra/Optus branded ROM since this is the Exynos version.

    • I am not 100% sure about grey import but I got Optus S7 and flashed it with Vodafone firmware and got VoLTE working on Voda.

Heard people able to flash grey import on the forum.

If you flash to whichever provider you are on and call them to activate it and you should be fine.

  • +4

    Iphone users lol.

About as stupid as their phone.

  • +1

i am so tempted but I fear something will happen to the phone and I will be mistreated by eglobaldigital like this user….

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2554543

  • So these are imported from Hongkong. Not Australian models. Can get it on kogan or dc

  • All I can say is better than my $1090 price on S7 edge. Although I don't need to worry about warranty but extra 350 not sure worth it
