Seems a great price for light luggage.

They also had quite a lot of a hard case luggage of different sizes also priced very well (cheaper)

  • Is this the rays on Nepean hwy? Might head down and pick one up - seems decent value.

    • Yes, Nepean hwy

  • What does TSA padlock security mean - that there's a padlock but universal key that the TSA have?

    • +1

yeah, so the customs in the usa wont cut your locks.

      • How does the USA handle bags with the built in combination lock? Hammer and chisel?

        • yeah i would assume so! haha

      • +1

There must be people online selling Tea keys for $1 by now, no point having a lock

        • I think the point of a lock is more to stop opportunistic theft. If someone is going to the trouble of buying a TSA key. There are other very easy ways to get into your bag anyways.

        • @poop:
not hard to open the luggage with a pen, locks are a waste of time

        • You just need to get a lock that uses the TSA006 method, as that key nobody has been able to dupe yet from the leaked images of all the TSA keys. TSA006 uses a dimple key, which nobody has been able to post the exact specifications of the dimple depths so they can replicate a key of that one.

Its easy to get the other TSA keys there are even STL files online so you can make them using a 3d printer.

But either way…. see below of actual reason why you'd use a lock. Also if you do use a lock, it must be held stationary to somewhere e.g. the lock cannot be moved up and down the zipper. Because if you can move the lock, a person can easily open your bag using a pen, then close the zipper by moving your lock up and down …. haha

There's your problem when you don't read. This is a Rays Outdoor deal.

  • My backpack is max carry-on size very tough, comfortable, and half that weight.
With strict weight limits these days, wheeled carry-on bags make little sense unless you are especially feeble. (Checked bags a different issue).

    • +3

a smart ozbargainer fills his pockets with heavy stuff b4 weigh in then puts them in the case. so wheels can b handy

      • +1

Of course they can. And don't forget the 3kg of duty-free that gets added.
I've avoided wheeled carry-on due to the added bulk and weight, but I suppose at 1.8kg, this one is far better than most.
And you can't beat the price.

Still, I don't know why some people seem to be allergic to backpacks when travelling. Even a 10kg one is a lot easier and more comfortable than a trolley. Unless you are wearing a suit in 35 degree weather.

        • Exactly this, suits and backpacks don't get on at all, and if you are a business traveller wheeled bags are a must have. Also unless you are going trail walking a wheeled bag is always easier to get around with for its weight IMO

        • @Jackson:

and if you are a business traveller wheeled bags are a must have

I prefer backpack plus garment bag. They never told me I had to wear the suit on the plane.
If you are travelling on business, you almost certainly get to take both.

        • @manic: TBH I used to do both, depends where I was going and how long. What used to kill me was seeing all these people hunched over with hiking backpacks that never leave town. The only reason I preferred the garment bag was for the sake of my suits

Can't remember the last time my carry on got weight checked

  • Clearing stock due to logo change.
