Hmmmm… I wonder who came up with the idea that we need more humidity?
It depends on where you live. In Melbourne we do! Air here is dry like sh**. Either have wrinkly skin or put lots of moisturiser if you don't have one.
Adelaide is crazy dry also.
Don't forget to budget for demineralised water for some crisp clean air.
We used cooled boiled water and the room become foggy I think because of the lime in the water.
Over time you'll get stick white substance which are hard to wipe off.
Note our water isn't even that heavy.
EPA also recommend using the purest available water if cannot get demineralised water.
Everything coming out of this thing is inhale able.
Can do more bad than good some study says.
that's my 2 cent.
After some experience (although not with this model) I can say that any ultrasonic humidifier is a waste of money unless it's significantly more than this. The reason is the membrane in the part of the device that actually creates the ultrasonic vibration lasts about a week in cheap devices.
In expensive devices the best teflon membranes are rated to last 6 months only and require replacing after this. The membrane literally vibrates many millions of times per day and destroys itself very quickly.
