    Unfortunately from when I first checked it to when I checked it again (big mistake) it went up from 635 to 745!!!

      Don't beat yourself about it, whether you checked it again or not, they would've got you at the payment screen.

      I got all the way to payment, went to hit confirm, then they told me price went up lol

      I always use a different browser or incognito mode the second time so they don't know it's me again. Airline websites are pretty shady with this.

          If you spread your 'incognito' / no cookie sessions across browsers, they won't generally track you. IP based checks don't work for traditional websites because proxies and NAT routers inherently break any reliability in tracking the client.

          Incognito will retain cookies and cache inside the temporary container whilst the mode is active, which allows cookie-based browsing and logins to still work effectively.

    Happy days

    6 hour and 18 hour layover in Singapore, but thats cool - gives me time to go get some Chilli crab. Just glad no layover in Perth

    I know flights, but this price is mental… flying two decent airlines too… once you've done a 40 hour trip with undeclared stopovers (via Air Lanka), you pay attention to the airline.

    Just searched a few flights, SQ sale fare at app $688 is app $388 on virgin. Likely a stuff up by virgin or issue between virgin and SQ's system.

    Edit - nvm. SQ prices are also insane on different search dates.

          I can now retrieve my booking on Virgin website (desktop). however, the fare shown is around $160 less than what I paid to BestJet. Not sure if it's showing the base fare without any taxes. I'm a bit concerned about getting slapped with airport taxes at the check-in counter.

          Mine (through EDreams) has a lower fare, then the tax component - summing up to total I paid. Had to call up Virgin to get the actual correct booking reservation code so not sure I'd use EDreams again

          @hypie: You can check your itinerary by using the Post-Flight Re-send Itinerary / Tax Invoice form here. This shows the ticket price incl. airport taxes, fare classes etc.

          Pre-Flight Resend itenary is not retrieving anything
          Post flight gives error (prob because flight is in 2017)

          @10muscat: You need the airline reservation code, eTicket number (13 digits) and last name of the passenger. Airline reservation code is usually different from the initial booking reference provided by third party travel agent.

          @MaxTravels: If you are flying Singapore Airlines metal on the Virgin codeshare, you need to call Virgin, ask them for the Singapore Airlines PNR (6 Letters/Digits reference)

          Then go to seatguru.com and enter in your flight details which will bring up the plane/seat map of your chosen flight. This doesn't actually show live seats available, just gives you a guide and where you might be able to sit.

          Call Singapore Airlines, enjoy the hold music then give them the PNR and let them know you'd like to reserve your seats.

          There is no other way for the VA/SQ codeshare, even on business or first bookings. Singapore Airlines have a decent app but codeshare PNR's do not work on it either.

          @MaxTravels: I called VA to get the SIA booking reference and then called SIA to request seats. SIA sent me any email afterwards with seat numbers. i didnt specifiy exactly which seats but just aisle in middle section though.
          I went through SIA website to get a live seat map by making a booking for the same flights that i already have. Was in a rush to book and would have paid slightly extra going direct through SIA instead of bestjet

          There isnt an option to request seats when booking via bestjet. How did you request them? Based on that, i wouldnt be surprised that they havent put you in your requested seats.

    Holy heck. Just booked family of 4 (2A 2C) Brisbane to London return for $2818. Good price! Paid $6600 for similar dates this year and thought that was a pretty good price at the time.

    Heads up for those booking with Budgetair. I booked a return flight from Sydney to Paris around 11 PM last night for 2 people at $685 each with Budgetair Australia. However received an email at 4 AM with the following:

    'Unfortunately the booking you were trying to make on our website failed due to technical problems. In the meantime we have refunded your payment of <1283.96 AUD>
    Because of the processing time required by the banks and credit card companies it may take up to 10 days before you can see this payment for yourself. Unfortunately, we cannot speed up this process for you.

    If you wish, you can make another booking on our website.

    My apologies for the inconvenience'

    Booked again with eDreams ($200 more this time) and just received itinerary confirmation within a few minutes. I's prefer the $685 price obviously, but this is still a bargain :)
