Citi Rewards: 150,000 Points with Signature & Platinum Visas, Annual Fee: 1st Yr: $124, 2nd Yr: $248

60

I've been looking for a new card to replace my ANZ FF since them free first year is nearly over. I found this deal on Point Hacks

This deal has a big catch to it.

Up to 150,000 Bonus Reward Points - comprised of 10,000 bonus points per statement period that you spend $1 or more on your card, for 15 months from approval

You will have to pay two lots of annual fee. The first one at half price and 2nd one at full price. Both cards have the same deal but different annual fees.

Posted on my phone, will add more details when I get home.

      NO YOU CANT

    • I can't find anything in T&C that states you can't. Nothing about new customers only offer

      • It's literally the first part of the important info.

        Important Information
Fees and charges apply. Cards are offered, issued and administered by Citigroup Pty Limited. Terms and conditions apply and are available upon request. Credit Criteria apply. New cards customers only.

But what if you have a platinum but apply for a signature?

        • Hahah my bad! Disregard

        • New cards customers does not necessarily mean customers that currently hold the card.
You can still apply for a new card and then technically be a 'new card customer'.
Quite sure Citibank use the same wording for their 0% BT offers on new cards, which I was still able to get while already holding the same card(that was still open).
That's probably why ANZ/NAB/AMEX have worded it 'cannot have held this card within the last 12 months'

Anyway.. best to confirm with Citibank the finer details.

Keep in mind that 1 Citi Rewards point = 0.5 QFF points .. this week, that is .. :-( .. !! The incentive points 'installment plan' is obviously to deter card hoppers, but we always find a way .. obviously with this offer you cancel just before the 2nd year renewal is due and get 80% of the incentive .. 120K Citi points (worth about $600 in QFF) for $197 .. simples .. :-) .. !!

      meerkat noise

      • Yup, those Comparethemarket ads are so dumb they have an endearing quality. Russian accented meerkats selling insurance, who thought that one up .. :-) .. !!

    • Edit: I forget to mention that this offer actually sucks and there are better options around, like the still current NAB Premium Qantas Card, particularly if you have >500 NAB shares and therefore qualify to have the annual fee waived in perpetuity .. :-) .. !!

I dont like this deal…it takes 15months to get all point, that's too long!

    • I agree - I can't even plan for next month - how can I plan for 15 months of points!

  • My current signature card includes free priority pass membership with 2 free entries, and so I assume that this will be the same. IMHO Value of this is ~ $70 per year.

    too long for reward

  • Doesn't pass the pub test for mine. Next….

  • can 150k platinum citi rewards redeem the same value amount for gifts as signature card 150k platinum citi rewards ?
