Operator, get me the Fashion Police.

  • We haven't had a fixed line in a while. No use to me :(

You can still buy one and mount it on the wall. You'll be able to relive the nostalgia without the associated ongoing costs.

No. Just say no. It only encourages them.

Now if it was an ericofone clone maybe…. Just maybe… (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/telephones/ericofon)

I dont think I would want one of them mounted anywhere people could see in my home. Just funny looking

Oh snap, these 'retro' phones usually have crappy cheap imitations of the rotary dial with push buttons, whereas this one seems to have a functional rotary dial. Not bad for the price - great for your senile elderly relatives.

    • … and your children who have only known mobile devices.

  • Does it take coins?

  • Can you run whatsapp on this?

    • Hi yes

  • a bluetooth functionality to connect with a mobilephone would be awesome

    • Why not just use the mobile then?

        not hippy enough

if it had a sim slot so you could have a "home phone" with out "line rental"

    like this "modern home phone"

Get a router with VOIP or an ATA, plug this into the FXS port, problem solved. (Heaps cheaper than mobile calls too)

      • of course . I keep forgetting about VOIP.

I do sort of like the idea having that linked "modern home phone" and using it as mobile phone (it comes with a battery)

Ahhh…the good old days of dialling a phone number only to mess up the last digit and have to dial the whole number again

    • That's why, in the good old days, a significant number of people were employed as a "secretary"

      • Aren't they known as personal assistants these days?

        • Executive Personal Assistant

  • I had a relative with a number with lots of zeros. My grandma used to asked me to dial their number for her because she it took longer to dial
