They are garbage. This is the main reason.
They're pretty quiet. Upside is that they're comfy and the cord is long (could be a downside if you trip over them). As such, they make poor commuting headphones, but are fine for long gaming sessions.
I wouldn't recommend them if you're a basshead. There are some mods out there to improve the sound quality, but you'd be better off just paying more to get the upper-tier Sennheisers (or just avoid the low-tier sennheisers altogether)
I think this model is being phased out. Asked about them at jb last week and they said still some stores had stock but they wouldn't be getting any more in.

The current incarnation is not as good as the model was a few years ago. That is my take on them.
If you're looking for something a lot better, and less than 5 times the price :?), JBL Synchros s700s going for au$135 new at ewifistore on www.ebay.com.au (didn't post the deal because seller doesn't meet ozbargain criteria for ebay sellers).
I still have mine after 3 years of use. latch broke but electrical tape holding it totherther.
I'm desperately scrambling for a reason to resist.
